You have to time your runs into the box and also time your headers I believe. We struggled with that for a while playing it last night, but when we started to monitor the timings of our runs and subsequent jumps we found ourselves far more successful in our heading endeavours.
 
Don't know what to make of it. Still trying to decide if I like it.


Is the EASPORTS football world (video site) not working?
 
I see the EA Servers are still horribly, horribly, horribly, horribly shit.

Winning my first ranked match 1 - 0, it disconnects me (am still signed into PSN) and I get a loss and 100% DNF.

Retarded spastic knob jockeys.

I actually won :lol: Won 1-0 with a Benzema goal after 97 minutes :D From the first couple of seconds I knew that he could play. Much better passing and moving from me, but I just swamped him with players and he overplayed it. I was creating the odd chance and getting wingers in behind and he couldn't hit the target. I was resorting to playing long ball counter attacks as I couldn't pass like he could. In the 1st half of ET I managed to break free down the left wing and Guti, who had just come on for Raul, squared it for Benzema, around the keeper, to tap in. Benz nearly ran himself offside but it stood and I held out for the win, even though he hit the post with a free kick and there were numerous goal-mouth scrambles :D

I was thrashing a cnut who had Real and I was Aston Villa, 4 - 0 and then he disconnects and I get no points. It's going to be even worse than FIFA 09 because now you LOOSE points when you lose a game.

fecking EA, retards.
 
I don't understand everyone talking about this connection lost business,my son has been playing FIFA 09 for a year and i don't ever remember him complaining about it.If it happened he would as he is a miserable git while on the xbox at the best of times.Could it be a problem with the internet you are using ?

I am no expert but as I said on Virgin Media it has not dropped one game and never freezes up either as i have heard some on here complain about.

Nah it's all over the forums and everything, it's a huge problem, because it means you don't get the points/win and they don't get the loss. I presumed EA would have gotten rid of it but it seems not

It's ok, it's not about the points, there's always going to be some crazy robot kid at the top of the rankings. It's about beating someone with a shit team and forcing them to turn off the game in shame, that's better than the points for me.
 
Just ripped some guy apart online with Arsenal, he was Chelsea and he wasn't a bad player, I just played immense and he couldn't handle the movement. Won 4 - 0 in the end and won some Underdog trophy that I'm now going to find the meaning behind.

Still finding this game.... odd. I really don't know if its an improvement on 09. Certain aspects, such as crossing and passing seem greatly improved, but other areas, such as sprinting with the ball seem to have got worse. Its little things as well, such as the initial celebration animation. Its no where near as smooth as last years. The players also seem to glide across the pitch and the shooting is totally erratic. I keep thinking "yeah, they really have improved the shooting". Then i'll take another shot and it will go absolutely no where near where i aimed it. Although the passing feels smooth, i still find the game in general a bit choppy. But my main irritation is the fecking ref. Consistancy with this man has gone straight out the window. 50% of the time shoulder barges are fine, the other 50 he'll give a foul and on the odd occasion its a bookable offence. feck OFF!

And also, am I the only one who finds Ronaldo to be really average on this game? I also reckon his sprinting animations were better on 09.

That said, some things are noticeably better. Passing is much more fluid. On occasions the shooting is very nice. When zoomed in, the graphics are much better and the rain/snow/night/day effects are beautiful.


I don't if I will get used to it and not have any issues; I hope so.

Why do points matter? If you know you're the better player and that guy's quit..does it really matter?

He/she obviously wouldn't be able to do it on real EA tournaments etc....

Yeah I agree on most of that, I'm not sure whether I like it more either, it hasn't really fixed many of my issues. A guy just scored on me in a game because the ref was standing beside my player in the penalty box and it hit him when I went to clear it. Pure madness.

And yeah, there's way too many fouls, just constantly blowing and blowing the whistle for absolutely nothing. It seems way to easy to get the ball off players too, I dunno, the pitch just feels more congested or smaller or something, it's far harder to find space and play a few nice passes, usually as soon as my player gets the ball there's someone pouncing on him.
 
Not a clue what happened at 3 - 1 up when my defenders decided to start wandering aimlessly around the box like a bunch of drunks.

Twas a good game anyway, we seem fairly evenly matched so I'm sure we'll have a few more!
 
I notice the keeper coming out when you don't want him to as well, that needs to be fixed quickly.
 
Yeah was a close game, it felt like someone else took over when you started coming back as I seemed to be doing alright til then, suddenly my men couldn't string two passes together and you were swarming at me.

I was playing with some mates for a few hours earlier... I was chuffed. I managed to use Scholes, Giggs and Fletcher to typical and devastating effect, and even bagged a hattrick against Arsenal with Berba against my Arsenal mate.. he went a bit sour for a bit ;P

I was also incredibly pleased to find that I managed a couple of trademark Scholes 50-60 yard passes ala 06/07... Never done that before on console.. <3
 
So I played this earlier.

It's EXACTLY the same as Fifa 09. I mean, it actually is the same game, right down to the menu screens. It's embarrasing.

and realistic my arse. The ball physics belong to the Sega Megadrive era, as do the player abilities. The only difference between any of the players is that the ones with better stats run faster and are less crap at shooting. The first two goals I scored involved the ball jolting itself magically across the floor in order to appear at a player's foot as he kicked it. It's just so incredibly lazy and generic....You're all a bunch of mugs.

Wont be wasting anymore of my time on this. Here's hoping Pro Evo can salvage itself this year
