Gaming Fifa 10

Berbatov is Mr. Finesse shot for me ;) If I get him in and around the area, ball to feet, I just create a bit of room and look to place my shot with him. A corner tends to be worst case scenario as long as the shot gets past the defender's lunging challenge.

While they've made the finesse shots more difficult to score from this time, I cant help but feel that with a few players - tends to be midfielders, like Carrick, it can be hard to get a decent effort in using it. You try and bend one a bit like his goal the other day and it tends to go wide or have bad contact. Oh well.

I've made good use of him in that way too. Had a lovely pull back with the sole of my boot to keep it clear of a defender rushing back, and then placed it in the opposite corner. I wanna see him do that for us irl ;(

Apropos the part in bold, I've had some corking last ditch tackles, most notably with Evra, to stop dead cert goals. Both me and my opposition enjoyed that =)

Can't say I've fired many shots with my central midfielders yet, certainly not with placed shots. Had some decent Giggs free kicks, though. I love that you can just hold the R2 button and browse the team for the one you want to take it, without pausing the game.

I like the whole strength aspect of the game. It makes you feel like you're watching a real football game.
Agreed. People say they want realism, and that's exactly what EA have done. I've had no problems with it whatsoever.

The people getting annoyed with it are the Ronaldo Whores™ who play online 24/7 and will do anything for a win.

Ok i finally played it last night, until about 3 in the morning actually, it just flew.

Loving the gameplay, it's like someones taken 09 and lubed it up. Scoring isn't as easy, but still not exactly hard. In my first match i played as Accrington Stanley against Man United, i was 2-1 up with seconds of extra time left and then i tried to get a player sent off, for an achievment, and they scored from the freekick. Lost on pens.

My online forays have been amusing, i've only finished 2 matches. The other 6 people have quit on me.

Defending against pace is much easier now but you have to be careful or you give away freekicks for overdoing the shoving. Loving it.

 The way all the players run into the net!

That cerebration thing is fecking stupid and childish, wish they'd get rid of it.

Do they not keep stats for games not played when online now?

Seems a shame...

Was a bug in 09 as well but it was patched fairly early on.

Yes you can, it's just very rare for refs to actually do it.

I just looked up the FIFA rules and it's true... it does say if they want to caution they have to do it at the next stoppage, or not at all, but it doesn't mention sending off but I assume both red and yellow is referred to as a caution then or?

Something I do like is that I seem to be scoring a wieder variety of goals in FIFA10 - I just a classic Vidic glancing header from a corner, something I've not done before.

Andy Gray is a fecking annoying twat in this - how often to managers take their players off for celebrating the second goal in the game?

I downloaded spanish commentary, and its ace! gol gol gol gol gol gooooooooolllll

think i am going to turn the commentary off soon, "form is temporary class is permanent" and "getting a bit ahead of yourself Mr Tyler" are giving me a headache

Played my first 2 games online today, I like it.

Has a weird feel and will take some getting use to but overall its good.

Just forced my first quitter online :D Barca vs Madrid; I took kickoff, ran through his whole team and slotted it away  He tried the same, I tackled him and scored again on the same attack. I was surprised he didn't quit then. Made it 3-0 on the 70 minute mark and off he went. Pathetic :D

My manager mode with Sunderland is going well. I'm 9th in the table I think, around November time. After a slow start Jack Wilshere is starting to come into his own, I signed him for £8m or something, he just completely ran the show against Fulham in the Carling Cup, getting the full-back sent off for constantly fouling him

Just picked it up, I was hoping all that time playing fifa 09 would allow me to quickly jump into this...how wrong I was. I usually play on World Class difficulty but here Im having to push back to Professional which is a huge challenge as it is :wenger:

I do like the new and more accurate long ball system, but the dribbling system seems to have been changed for worse? Or is it just me.

You must be bad

Sorry.

I'm also finding the manager mode realistic in that I'm losing to the better teams this time round. In 09 I could start a season as Wigan and comfortably beat Chelsea, Liverpool, etc.. on the hardest difficulty. I just played Spurs away, lost 2 - 0 and currently 1 - 0 down to Liverpool due to a Gerrard thunderbolt.

Anybody else finding it impossible to extend player contracts in mm? Even if I double there wages they still reject me. Welbeck, carrick, Rooney and berbatov have only 4 months left. Annoying and ruining an otherwise good game.

Yes, I had the same problem. I haven't played a full season by far yet, though, so I don't know how it turns out.

Bah, I'm tired of my lag. It's not very much usually, but it's enough to put me off my game. I thought it was normal, but I'm not so sure anymore. It's got to be my connection, though I've got a very, very good one. It's a University connection, so I'm probably behind all sorts of routers and crap.

Though, if nothing else it teaches me how to plan ahead my moves better. I can't possibly dribble very much, though, or time sharp turns with the ball to avoid people. I'm going to be a great passer eventually, because of it

What the feck has Ea done to the mm this year? Another issue I have found is that cup goals don't get counted towards player season tallies.

I'm getting really sick of being constantly shoved off the ball by Joe Average in the middle of the pitch.

I just got sacked as Sunderland manager

Was 12th in the table in November and had just reached the semi finals of the Carling Cup with a 3 - 2 win over Arsenal...

I tire of playing madrid and barcelona.

In fairness I tire more of idiots who have Arsenal and Liverpool as their chosen teams switching to Barca and Madrid, and playing throughball after throughball down the middle, eventually nicking on late in the second half after Ronaldo pushes over Vidic and Van Der Sar

That's not exactly something to rave home about. You're playing it on professional. You can walk the ball into the net.

Was playing against my mate. So only the goal keeping is professional, the same as it is online.

 o and are you going to coin that new phrase, 'rave home about'?
