Fernando Alonso

If this is your point of view, I doubt we could find a common ground for talking about F1.

Alonso's race engineer had been counting down the seconds until he should leave from the pit wall to avoid traffic, around 10 secs after the lollipop went up. Hence why Ron Dennis ripped off his headphones and dragged him away to check with him.

Why would Alonso do this now when he is closest to regaining the Championship lead? If anything, he is starting to look more and more settled with his new car and is looking more competitive than ever before. He may not be the most sporting driver but he wouldn't lie about his race engineer asking him to hold back if it weren't true. There are about a hundred other better excuses he could have given the press if it were intentional. Like he couldn't select the right gear or couldn't get off neutral - things which happen every race to one driver or another.

The only rational explanation I can come up with is that he wanted to send the message "Ron, don't fecking support that Lewis lad just because he's English".
You know there's been tension about this in McLaren, with Alonso telling the press how unfairly he's been treated.

Send clear message to boss by fecking up the chance of a team mate and lying to the press about the race engineers instructions ? And you honestly think thats a 'rational' explanation ?

Jesus....

Listen, it's saturday night. I'm going to the seaside. C U

Alonso's definitely the best driver currently. He might be a bit of a cnut but he's the best there is.

Not entirely true.

Alonso has the same car as Hamilton, has driven the same tracks as him and is behind him in the Championship, that says to me "currently" Hamilton is the best driver.

Hamilton's only been around for half a season. Still too early to call him the best.

That's irrelivant, as I said "currently" Hamilton is the best, the Championship table doesn't lie. After tomorrow that may be different though, we will see.

Come on, we've had more than half the season and Hamilton is leading the f1 in his rookie year. Nobody has done that before. Every time he gets a setback he comes back stronger. He’s quick and he's sympathetic. He defiantly has something 'Senna-ish' about him. It sounds stupid but with that helmet he looks just like Senna in his driving style. Alonso is a great driver, but Hamilton has something that Alonso lacks.

The Mclaren team in an interview before the last race said that Hamilton has clocked several hundred hours in their race simulator before the season started which has helped them setup the car perfectly for him. They are still getting used to Alonso's style and finding the right balance for him.

Yes, that's the reason.

Well, Ron is doing a great job of deflecting more unwanted controversy from his team there isn't he. I wonder how long it took to come up with that.

Where's that post that I just read of yours Karma?

Why did you delete it?

Infact two deleted posts.

That's fecking low.

You were all wrong! Well apart from a couple people.

Most of you went mental and started raving about Alonso being Satan etc....

Looks like Hamilton is the prick.

Now that the truth is out wonder how many here will call Hamilton a cnut? :D

Alonso punished for Hamilton move

Alonso had been fourth in the morning session
World champion Fernando Alonso has been moved five places down the grid for Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix after an incident in final qualifying.
Lewis Hamilton was handed pole position hours after being delayed by his team-mate in the pit lane, meaning he was too late for his final lap.

McLaren will also not be allowed to score constructors' points.

Nick Heidfeld (BMW Sauber) was bumped up to second with Kimi Raikkonen third and Ferrari's Felipe Massa 14th.

Massa, third in the championship and 11 points adrift of Hamilton, suffered after a costly mix-up on his fuel levels.

Hamilton leads Spaniard Alonso by two points with seven races remaining.

The 22-year-old British rookie was fastest until the Spaniard pipped him by 0.107 seconds with his final lap of the session in the dying seconds.

Hamilton was unable to reply after being forced to wait behind Alonso at their final stop, leaving him too little time for a final flying lap.

Hamilton refused to be drawn in to criticising Alonso for delaying his exit out of the pit lane ahead of his final run.

"There's not really much to say - you saw what happened," he said.

"The team did a great job and we had very good pace, but I'm not aware of what happened. You should ask the team."

When asked as to how long he missed out on setting a final quick lap, he tersely replied: "About the same amount of time I was held up in the pit stop."

Explaining his hold, Alonso said: "The team held me back in this. We tried to have some space with the Ferrari (Raikkonen) in front of us."

But team boss Ron Dennis said: "It is a matter to be discussed within the team, and we will do so later."

Briton Jenson Button, who took a first Grand Prix win from 14th place in a wet race in Hungary last year, qualified his Honda a disappointing 17th.

What the hell are people talking about, saying I wonder what you've got to say now the truth is out. I've just got back in after a night out and it seems to me that the truth is now out and Alonso has been reprimanded due to his cheating/'gamesmanship' ways. The guy deserves to have been moved back in my opinion. He has lost a lot of respect after this incident.

There was a different article in another thread carpy that indicated Hamilton was in the wrong. However, now a new article says otherwise.
