Fergie In A £25m Bid For Rooney

you missed a bit

here you go

My point is not about Berbatov's United career. My point is that you are a tool. Your term 'berbaflop' and your responses in this thread are prime examples of why I am correct.

Some of the comments in this thread are absolute gold. But then I look at the posters who made them and I dont find it surprising.

For those talking about hindsight being a wonderful thing.

It's not always that simple.

Some posters on here post their opinions like they are stone cold facts. They have black or white opinions, never a shade of grey.

Those posters are more likely to end up with egg on their face, hindsight or not.

devilish is probably one of many on here like that. Hence why it's funny.

ive been calling him berbaflop for well over a year... i actually ahve a united shirt with berbaflop printed on the back and i will fecking rejoice when he goes just like i did with veron...

happy to contine the discussion...

rough house sparing session.. bushido and libertys in nottingham... hope to see ya there

he has flopped... now if you want to discuss anything as i say pop down and lets "discuss" your insults...

yeah i might have to krunk it off just to stand up...

but no i dont see the point in getting e-personal... id much sooner somebody come up and fight because im a bit of a caaant ant i like smacking people... just because i said teveth was playing better than berbaflop this season somebody started crying over it... they were probably feeling all e-motional after cracking off over theif berbaflop footy cards...

i disagree... but as you just have then thats up to you... now get back to your panini book and stick your berbaflop sickers in with your tatty watter

besides this is about rooney not berbaflop so feck off

Are you in primary school?

I know it's easy with hindsight and all but some of the comments on the first page were ridiculous.

I remember Rooney during his first couple seasons at Everton and everyone thought/knew he was absolute quality and would become a leading star. Most people slagging him just had an anti-Scouse bias, and its evident in many of the posts on the first page.

And then there's devilish, who is straight up retarded and proves it in pretty much every thread he has ever posted in.

Every now and then this thread pops out and I have to justify what I said. Well this thread was done BEFORE the European championships where Rooney showed the world what a great talent was. At that time Rooney had just started at Everton and had little experience at EPL level let alone Europe. 25m was quite a sum at that time (40 m now) and I thought that it was too much for a kid with little experience. After the European championship I was one of his most fiercest supporters. Mind you, I was not alone in this. SAF himself didn't bid on him up until after the European championship and would have probably waited a bit more if only Newcastle didn't stepped in. I would have said the same thing if another wonderkid with little EPL/Serie A/Ligue/Liga experience and no international experience stepped in with that price. In fact I used the same words with Rodwell and Walcott.

Hindsight is a beautiful thing. I do remember someone claiming a certain young defender to be very composed on the ball, quick and strong on the tackle. Nah we are not talking about Rio here but Spector.;)

£25m...what a bargain. We'll get a minimum ten years of great service out of that fee, and a rock on which so many trophies have been/will be built.

Embarrassing thread. I'm referring of course to Page 5.

Again, nonsense

He's not a reserve...Moyes is protecting him, therefore he is not playing every match....far cry from being a reserve. He is already recognised as Everton's outstanding player, and rightly so. Is Ronaldo a reserve for you?

Its pointless citing a 10m figure, as he'll clearly command a much higher fee

I had to scroll all the way down to finally find a post that spoke sense.. where is Davo thesedays anyway?

I remember the day we bought this scouse cnut. I was over the moon, watching skysports news. Him and Ronaldo in the same team, it was a dream come true, one has left, lets hope the other has at least 5 years here. Just an amazing player, anyone who could not tell he was a special player from euro 2004 has to be blind.

i'll admit, though i was happy for rooney to come (i rated him), i wanted us to get zlatan instead from ajax for 10 million less. he moved on the last day of that window to juve.

TBH, it was Rooney's insertion last weekend that turned a 3-0 deficit to a 3-3 draw. He's got the talent to be world class. That said, he doesn't fit in the side at United right now. I'd rather get Torres or Tevez than Rooney if they were looking for a young striker. But they got a young striker in Saha.

For 25 million, I figure United could get Robben and make a bid for Chivu. Or Joaquin and Mexes.

Still rather we had Tevez over Rooney :D

feck sakes, read the title and thought we were bidding for Wayne's brother.

Thanks for getting my hopes up guys :(

yep had to laugh at the rooney isn't worth 10 million post - classic

The first page of this thread is a perfect example of why I steer cleer of conversing in the football forums. Pure and unadulterated stupidity thrown about with arrogance and no hint of self-doubt. The same feckers will just shrug it off and continue authoritively publishing their inanities... possibly even in this thread.

That is the risk of this sub-forum more than others, you can make yourself look like a right idiot, and to be fair to him Davos made sense in this thread.

Hypothetically speaking, even if we did sell him, don't Everton get some sort of huge sell on clause incentive?

remember reading it was something like 25% of the profit. Don't know if that is true though, or if it is a timed clause that could have expired by now.

We actually had both. :D Noticed you didn't mention Torres. ;)

I was so worried that Rooney was going to end up some over-hyped youngster and burn out once he arrived to a big club. Then came the 2004 Euros and I was no longer worried about his ability but still if he'd handle the pressure. I gladly eat my crow, with a dash of Ms Torres.

Damn.....:nervous::nervous: Who killed your pet?

It's just amazing that we couldn't post our judgements on unproven players, without people lambasting and taunting on hindsight. I have more respect for people with opinions than the majority of the sock-suckers that jump up the pedestal at every single opportunities.

Well to be honest when we signed him I thought the price was over inflated- albeit for a good player but one who hadnt really proved himself as he was so young,ok he'd scored a couple of good goals but that to me didnt warrant such a high price tag.Now iwth hindsight I see that I was wrong with the price tag- what is he valued at now?

£60m.

 I do distinctly remember myself being against the Rooney signing as I felt that he was living off his goal against Arsenal on his debut. He had gotten himself into some unsavoury incidents as well and many were doubting his attitude especially. But to be fair I was twelve at the time spouted a lot of bullshit (not that I'm not anymore!) :o

To be fair, he did some pretty special stuff since that debut goal. Like his other goal against Arsenal.
