For me it is not hate, he is an effective player in certain positions but I don't think he fits in a club of our stature with our ambition.Imagine hating your own players

Is that why fans mindlessly bash him? Cause he's a reminder of Moyes? Not a fan of the whole "if all else fails hoof to Fellaini" option. We're better than that. The fact that Jose is even entertaining the idea of using the above tactic is a little worrying.
Fellaini is a constant reminder of Moyes and his horrific management of our club. We need to put that era well and truly behind us, but all the while Fellaini remains a United player that seems impossible to do so. Which is probably a little unfair on Fellaini truth be told but that's the way it is.

If so, they should be booing Ferguson aswell. He was the one that hired him. You can't ignore that fact.
How is he a curse on the club when he's won 3 trophies with us? Genuine question. It's not hard to see why Fellaini is representative of our slump over the last 4 seasons. He's the one player that has been here for the whole of that period, and none of SAF's, and we even managed to make an embarrassing balls-up of signing him. While he is genuinely shit other than a few niche abilities, it's beyond that. No hard feelings to the lad, but he's a feckin curse on the club, and I will drive him to Turkey myself.

If that's a curse, what do you consider the players of Liverpool and Spurs who haven't won squat?
Like it or not, he is one of the most important players. And it's not just me saying it either, it's Jose.
Important is a stretch to begin with never mind one of the most important players, we signed a midfielder last year for a world record and we just signed another one for £40m. And Herrera actually is one of our most important players. Those 3 depending on the system will play most of our games.
And at no10 (which is Fellaini's actual position) we have Mata, Mkhy and even Rashford. So he's not playing regularly there.
Fellaini will get games of course but he's a squad player. Yes you could say squad players are important too but he is only as important as other squad players like Lingard or Smalling.
Says who?
He's more important than Lingard and Smalling cause he offers an entire different dimension to the game when he's on the field.Important is a stretch to begin with never mind one of the most important players, we signed a midfielder last year for a world record and we just signed another one for £40m. We only struggled cause we didn't give it to Mourinho in the first place! The fact that even when we're shit we continue to pull in trophies ten times as fast as Liverpool is just a side note here. We have undeniably had a very poor time since SAF left - getting through three managers while constantly struggling, and generally failing, to even make the top 4.

A lot of fans don't like watching crosses and headers cause it's not "pretty" but like it or not, it's an effective tactic and one every manager would like to have. If it wins us trophies (and it has), who gives a feck?
Those managers are just damn lazy to make a very creative team. Its easier to play hoofball as a plan B than tweak the team to make things work.Do think he's a bit of a scapegoat.
Absolutely hate it when he plays midfield, totally ruins any fluidity but on the flip side; if 3 consecutive managers saw route one lump-it-to-Felli football as the go-to plan b option then it probably speaks more about the creativity (or lack thereof) in our midfield.
What on earth are you talking about? You made a big song and dance about 3 managers using Fellaini.
2 of those managers failed and were sacked.
1 is here and has spent £130 million on other midfielders.
Not a good point.
He's an good option to have for plan B.
Put him at 10 so he can chest and lay the ball back to Pogba / Herrera.. Run into the box and make defenders try to mark him and Lukaku. He's strong in the air, a decent header and a strange ability to ghost into the back post (he's scored quite a few like that, unmarked on the back post).
Yes, it's not sexy but frankly we'll be needing this when sexy football isn't working.
We don't have the depth to replace the starters with a sub, using the same tactic. If the starters can't get it done, we'll need to change tactics and Fellaini offers that option.
Just get him as far away from our box as possible so he can't give away cheap free-kick

Fellaini not being great in the air is the biggest myth going. He wins 95% of headers especially in our own half. Look at the set pieces we defend and you'll see the ball bouncing off his Afro more almost all the time. He's not.
Every manager?
Why don't Barcelona and Real Madrid have a player similar to Fellaini then? How come Ferguson never realized he needed a player like Fellaini, if only he'd been a good enough manager to realize he needed a tall specialist to lump balls up to he might have won more league titles and more european cups.
Of course thats without even mentioning that Fellaini isn't even that great in the air, and lumping balls up to him isn't even that effective.
How many headers has he scored for us?

Those teams don't have a Fellaini cause there's only one Fellaini. I can't think of another player like him. Perhaps that's why the managers like him so much.
I'm convinced it's based on that one time he mistimed his jumpIt's a stupid fecking caf myth that he's bad in the air. Sick of hearing it.

Starting to wonder whether this is on or off. I know Jose appreciates him and would rather not lose him, but maybe it's partly a ruse to drive up the price & partly a smokescreen for another transfer in. I seriously doubt he'll get an extension, so I don't see the wisdom of keeping him on when a decent offer is on the table. Maybe someone like Dendoncker is in the works, but we don't want the selling clubs ideas that extra money is on hand if Fellaini is sold beforehand.
For me, I don't mind having the big lug around, I'd be shocked if he's around after next May.
Such a pointless post.'ghope for' is so good it should really exist. Alright I admit, I googled it just to check it didn't.
A couple of months old but he's loving life here!
He can stand in our box and head balls all day he's good at that. But thats not what you were were talking about and certainly not what i was talking about. You were speaking about Fellaini as an attacking threat, in an attacking sense i don't think he's great in the air.
He has scored how many headers for us in 4 years?
In pre season... tell me when he can do it consistently in games that actually matter. The guy is garbage and I really do hope we do away with him.
