Fellaini | Mou: "It's easier for Galatasaray to get me than Marouane. He is too important to me."

Really don't see Jose selling Fellaini, he seems to really rate the big fella and there's definitely players who've been a whole lot worse this year.

I don't mind him being sold as long as we sign a replacement. One new CM and Pereira will be enough if we play 4231.

I think that's the point many are missing simply because they don't like him

I'll pay for the plane tickets myself.

You don't need to, @Sunny Jim is carrying him on his back.
Maybe we could chip in some money for a decent massage after he's done.
Apparantly the türkish one is special.

Would be really surprised if pereira would be such a key player.
He won't be as involved as Fellaini this season but he will get his fair share of games in my opinion. Jose was impressed with him before he went out on loan and his good showing in Granada will only boost his chances.

Please let this be true.

My only rationalization for Fellaini playing so much is that he offers short-term solutions for a team that lacks options. If Mourinho actually thinks he can have him be part of a midfield 3 that can challenge for the title/CL, then he's surely lost it.

I wouldnt sell him just yet. Hes proved to be extremely useful and is one of the better squad players we have.

Surely, even with all his limitations as a footballer, he can do better? If you're going to Turkey, let it be to Galastasaray, Fenerbache or Besiktas. Otherwise

He's on a salary of a 30m panic buy/first teamer when he's only a reserve at best. Mou needs a DM and he's a no 10. It makes sense selling him.

Well yes and no. He can do better then a Turkish club however if he insists not to take a paycut then his options will be somehow limited

This won't happen Mourinho likes Fellaini and Fellaini is happy with his role at Manchester.
  • Trabzonspor is far below his level as a player
  • Trabzonspor won't be able to pay him as much as he is earning now
So why would Fellaini want to go ?

Also if Moruinho wanted him to leave, he wouldn't be playing as often as he has been. Seeing as there is already a need to overhaul so many, I think Mourinho wouldn't dream of replacing Fellaini on top of that. Trabzonspor might want Fellaini but a move won't happen.

Not wanting to sound head slappingly RAWkish but it's like a band touring a new album but having to go back into the classic back-catalogue to get the rows moving. Gotta let that shit go or nobody gets to hear the new shit.

He solves so many problems for us. He's dependable, is a wholly different and largely effective plan B. But I can't ever imagine it becoming plan C or D while we have him. We need way better options in the first 11. We need far better options on the bench.

He's just had his best season for us and others have been worse but I'd like him to go.

It took an awful long time for certain fans and in particular snobbish pundits to appreciate what a player like Park Ji Sung offered to United. He was a specialist in graft and nullifying another footballer.

I see Fellaini in a similar light. Not that he plays the same exact role but it is a specialized role in the squad that can be very valuable in certain matches. But come a grand final, just like Park in Moscow he'd not play.

If Jose keeps him around past the summer I expect Fellaini's burdensome reputation as a Moyes player among all else to dissolve. If he is happy w a big part role I'd love to keep him here. One because he truly plays his heart out, albeit naive at times. And because that overcoming of so much animosity from others with the managers support will be good for the locker room spirit and an example to the others when things aren't going their way.
He started our next two CL finals though.

And I'm almost certain Fellaini will start in Stockholm... I think Park was far, far, far better than him regardless. But I'm resigned to him staying though realistically Trabzonspor is about his level.

Think it would be daft to sell him personally, we just dont have the numbers.

He's a useful squad player and it'll be up to whatever skilled midfielders we bring in to perform and keep him out of the team.

Never happening. I'd put a large amount of money that Fellaini will still be here next year.

The only midfielder we'll lose is Carrick and the only striker will be Rooney. Defenders we may lose 2 or 3.

I'd be delighted if we sold him. However I think he is too much of a Mourinho favourite to be pushed out, he would have to want to leave.

Numbers will surely increase in summer. We need DMs. Fellaini is the closest player we have to that role but he's not a DM.

To explain this to some of the readers... @Mihai makes a living as a Fellaini impersonator in student parties. Fellaini's departure would mean he has to find a new vocation.

My life would have no meaning if Fellaini left. :(

He is to young for China right?
But we surely can do better than 5m from Turkey

Agree with this. Although you can add Zlatan to the striker list.

If there's any substance to these rumours I'm alright with it as long as we bring in quality replacement and not average shite like Dier.

It seems we have a new real Madrid? Stealing our precious jewels.

Don't want to get my hopes up about this, Jose's Fellaini obsession means he's going nowhere.

£5m fecking hell, I know he's not popular with the fans but that's a retarded amount for him, have we not learnt anything, also can't see why he'd go there when teams like Newcastle probably West Ham and quite a few others would be interested.

He's spent 4 years being inconsistent and proving he isn't good enough but reality is we are short on numbers so makes little sense selling him, we need to bring in better midfielders and make sure he plays a lot less going forward which I am sure is what we will attempt to do.

He got here by default and has stuck around because of bad decisions and others letting themselves down rather than because of his own performances but used in moderation he still can add to the squad. He is overpaid so his transfer value is minimal and his contract expires next season so be interesting to see if he gets a new contract or is allowed/wants to leave for free next summer.

He's 29, has only a year left on his contract and is on a fairly big wage. We won't be getting a huge fee for him if he does leave.

Also are Newcastle a more attractive proposition than a team in Turkey, if the wages were equal?

He's terrible. One of the worst players to get significant games in a United midfield in the modern era. Wouldn't get near the midfield of clubs we're competing with, much less aspiring to be.

It's lovely that he tries hard and is apparently really solid off the pitch but neither of those are qualities that should see you in a United squad.
