Fellaini | Mou: "It's easier for Galatasaray to get me than Marouane. He is too important to me."

Happy that he's not being sold. He's worth more to us than £10m in our bank account.

I'm not a fan of him but keeping him as a squad player is much more preferable than selling him to Galatasaray for peanuts.

If he was quality and improves our team I'd tolerate him tbh. Every team has some cnuts in it - say we brought in Suarez - he's a cnut of the highest order but will improve our team a lot.

Fellaini is the useless kind of cnuts tho.
I'd be mad if Suarez came. Wouldn't tolerate him at all and the club would get sour with him here. Fellaini is just a bit dirty like many other players but his dirtiness is to our disadvantage, not advantage like say Carvalho's antics.

There were plenty who wanted Rooney to stay, whilst it was obvious he wasn't good enough.

Feel it's the same with Fellaini. I don't think anyone is eager to see him in the starting line-up. We're in CL next season, do we really want to use him as fallback option in case of injury?

Bloody hell enigma, I've just realised I've had you on ignore for god knows how many days:nervous:

Yes. Not only that Jose sees him as a good option B when we need to change the game.

Maybe Everton is his level and Barkley level is lower than that. That's why I said i would prefer Gylfi over Barkley. There are a lot of better players than those two though.

Barkley has never had the chance to make that step up, though. Sigurdsson has.

He's as good as Matic. £30-40m or no deal. He's a liability in defence though, like that penalty he gave away end of the season against Everton.

Glad he's staying. He's put in a lot of solid shifts for us.

He has. Out of all of our squad players, it's baffling to me why there's so many people wanting Fellaini' head. He comes up with the goods more often or not when needed to do a job.

My sentiments exactly.

He's handy to bring on late in a game if your chasing a goal.

The option to bring fellaini on, is what causes my disappointment. I don't care about the money. They're making small difference in the big picture anyway. It's the option that bugs me

The funny thing is that the people who go on about how useful he is do the exact same thing with our other average players; yet still wonder why our placings are so terrible.

It's baffling that a technically deficient lump like Fellaini is still at a club like ours, it really is.

Only on redcafe would you find this many people actively saying they don't want Fellaini to go

"showed great character"
"can hold his head high"
"was just trying to do his job"
"offers something different"

 terrible player, and this is long overdue. the minutes wasted on him are better employed developing kids like Pereira

Its the hope that kills you..FFS

twilight zone :wenger:

Calm down mate. He is our most important player. Probably, Next will be his contract extension

The same thing is said every season.

He started the season ahead of Herrera and finished it with a good performance in the Europa league final.

People just want to delude themselves into thinking the end is nigh.

That's really solid reasoning, as if we've been managed by top manager like Mourinho since 2013. He's started and got dropped on merit. Do you even know how many kids were playing there in that Ajax team? If we'd lost that game it would be more than utterly shameful.

I've only made a prediction, after 10 months it'll be clear if I was right or not. Please tell me why haven't we extended his contract beyond that 1 additional year?

It wouldn't make much sense selling Fellaini. Despite being responsible for poor judgement at times, he is more useful than some think and Mourinho is clearly a fan. I'd rather have a strong player who clearly loves the club, than a lightweight pretty-boy who is more concerned about his hair than us.

This will most certainly result in a contract extension - pencil in the meltdown in your calendars.

No he does them in matches:

Is this post sarcastic? This is a mistake that in the end gets to look like a neat technical trick. He should have simply taken the ball into his stride while attacking the goal since he didn't have any cover in front of him.

If the fee is really only around £10-12m, than what's the point? He offers more to United as the occasional starter / rotation than he does a price that low. Especailly in this market. Fellani, unlike the Rooney situation, still offers something useful to the team. Shouldn't just be giving him away, so to speak.

Yes, it's sarcastic

It obviously doesnt make sense to sell him for peanuts and buy an expensive replacement when we have other positions to fill in

I know it's uncool to say this but I thought he did quite well when he played last season - probably better on average than some of the "favourites" on here like Martial and Mkhitaryan to be honest.

I'd rather he was sold. We shouldn't be so willing to accept mediocrity.
Go back through the squads for the Last 30 years you will find a whole host of Mediocre players he is not the first (even in fergies teams). He is not my first choice but I tell you what he always gives 100 percent never whinges or moans even though fans are willing to jump on his back every time he does something wrong . He also gives a different option . I'm not his biggest fan but I think he deserves a little more respect, after all he is a United player regardless if some people on here want him to be or not.

would have been more effective had you not quoted the previous post. I have no problems saying i think he's a terrible player and i would have drove him to Turkey myself had United offered to pay for the petrol. This just means I have to postpone the bubbly and fireworks.

name and shame the haters. They fink know more Mou

Mourinho is not infallible, in fact, his recent record has him looking shaky more than anything. him being our manager doesn't mean we have to agree with all his decisions as if he's an all knowing deity. Hopefully, he can get back to winning league titles.

Yes it was, I should have included some white text.

I think misunderstandings like this sum up the problem with Fellaini for me. The fanbase seems split between wanting him out asap and valuing him as a squad player/plan b. I veer between these points of view myself. I sympathise with the view that he doesn't have the attributes for United (if we have any aspirations of challenging for the top prizes regularly) but I don't know, Jose's trust in him as a crazy misfit wildcard makes some strange sense sometimes.

100%

 You know I always said he was excellent.

Your words not mine. However, it seems to be a very similar case with Moussa Sissoko.

Not a bad player, but not a top four player, in my opinion. Was out of his depth at times at Spurs, as was Sigurdsson when he was there.
Never seen Sissoko carry any team neither club or nation.. Gylfi has done both..
