They'll usually be right.
I can see your one of these age obsessed people, and your completely missing the point of Fellini being a utility player, but keep on banging about Matic being a DM and comparing them
True enough... Fellaini's chest control is superior.
Our semifinal specialist
Is his name not Jesse?Jesse
Do you know him personally?
Is his name not Jesse?
We call Ibrahimovic "Zlatan", we call Mata "Juan", we call Mourinho "Jose".... none of us know them, what's the difference?Do you usually call players by their first names? Not just call him Lingard, no.
There's absolutely nothing in this. Jose loves Fellaini and we can see this by how much he's playing in the friendlies as well as how glowingly he speaks about him. More chance of selling Herrera......
When a manager has a 29 year old utility player whose game is mostly workrate then he will have to make a decision whether to keep him or let him go, especially if he's got 1 year left in his contract. SAF did the same with Nicky Butt and Phil Neville who left United in very similar circumstances.
@sunama
I was texting via mobile which makes it very difficult to go in detail in what I think.
In my opinion, Matic will be a centre piece of Mou's midfield. He knows Mou's system inside out and is the typical holding midfielder Mou likes to have around. Matic cant be our only DM so we'll probably bring someone whose younger, whose ready to accept the bench and whose salary reflects that role. Leander seems to fit the bill
As box to box we already have Herrera whose magnificent in the role. Matic-Herrera will be the ideal partnership in a 4-2-3-1 system. The former is an experienced DM who will close the gap between defence and midfield. Herrera's workrate and quality makes him the ideal player to win the ball, disrupt the opponent's game and move the ball forward. Carrick will be Herrera's cover. He's not like for like as Carrick is more of a deep lying playmaker. Having said that, while Carrick's defensive duties are mostly over, he can still be a valid player in a Pirlo's role. I can see us play Carrick with Leander (the latter providing the legwork) and Matic with Herrera.
Pogba will be given a free role, flirting between the most advanced midfielder in a 4-3-3 system or as a no 10 in a 4-2-3-1 system. Mata and Mkhitaryan will act as a more conventional no 10.
Of course things can change if Periera start scoring goals then I can see him play as no 10 especially if Pogba cant deliver the goods on that
I guess we should have all called Rafael and Fabio R. Da Silva and F. Da Silva . Unless its only fashionable for non British players. We call Ibrahimovic "Zlatan", we call Mata "Juan", we call Mourinho "Jose".... none of us know them, what's the difference?
I always liked P. Neville myself. Underrated in comparison to his brother G. Neville.I guess we should have all called Rafael and Fabio R. Da Silva and F. Da Silva . Unless its only fashionable for non British players.

Just don't be calling him Gary. You don't know him like that.Reasonable analysis, actually. G.Nev was one of the most consistent defenders defensively a full back United have had in years, but he was VERY average technically, and his passing under pressure just fell to bits. Although his crossing did improve a lot around the time he hit 30.
I'm amazed some people actually think there's a chance we sell him without adding another midfielder

Pogba, Herrera, Perreira (untested), Carrick (36) and Matic (?) would be a bit on the light side for a team at times playing 4-3-3 and competing on all fronts.
You could tell our squad was knackered last season from all the games, and the midfield especially so.
In what world is there more of a chance of us selling Herrera?More chance of selling Herrera......
Omg praying!!please, let it be true. please, let it be true.
There won't be anything near £25m. It's Trabzonspor. Fellaini is their fallback option for a player they're unwilling to pay £6m for.
I do love all three players but that midfield would be absolutely decimated by any opposing midfield with above average speed and strength.
Isn't it Galatasaray? Maybe we get 15M from them. That's still very good value with Fellaini turning 30 a couple of months into this season. He seems like he'll age okay with his strength and fitness being good, but if he loses a step and can't pass, it's hard to think of any slow midfielder who can't pass really helping a team. He's up to 485 pro games (Belgium + Club) and has 11 seasons under his belt. It wouldn't be a shock if next year, age 31, is his last season at his usual level.
The club wouldn't possibly be stupid enough to sell a CM before buying.
I have not forgot the EL final. Got us to Wembley and I honestly believe if he'd been available to play the last games of that season, we'd of been playing CL football because he was in good form.
I'm sorry that you think that.Wishing Fellaini would stay just so it'd piss people off, rather than actually bringing in a higher quality midfielder says a lot about you.
I'm not a fan of Fellaini but we should reject that, obviously. In this market especially he is worth at least double, if not more. Added to the fact that we need numbers. It is Galatasary, the bid is rumoured to be £10m.

Nah. I'd be happy if we paid that for him to leave.I'm not a fan of Fellaini but we should reject that, obviously. In this market especially he is worth at least double, if not more. Added to the fact that we need numbers.
To be fair, despite all the criticism from fans, Fellaini has been a good sport.
He was a Sunday league player in first few seasons. His improvement has been great over the last 12 Months which elevates him to the status of a limited player for a lesser team or league.
