Gaming FC 25 (Fifa 25) - One Night Only pulls off transfer heist of the century

Between crossplay and the new 5v5 mode there'd be a lot more potential for clubs, like the good old days, if only the game wasnt fundamentally shite.
I've said for ages getting a good amount of people on clubs would be the only thing to bring me back to playing fifa now I think.

Absolutely buzzing

my hero I got in the preorder pack was big Jaap Stam. Couldn't of got anyone better being a united fan.

Can I ask why you pre-order when it’s basically generally accepted that EA don’t really care about their customers and just pump all their effort into Ultimate Team in order to force players to grind the game for endless hours and spend money at the same time?

Do you only play one mode? So many are disillusioned with the fact that they ignore broken shit that’s been in the game for years and essentially just let it rot. If you’ve got a player with your pre-order I’m sure you’ve paid a bit extra for that as well. Seems wild to me. I don’t know why people pre-order when most games are digital either. It’s not going anywhere.

I'll answer this, I was bored last night couldn't be arsed with my regular games so just bought the pre order version because I could afford it and 2-3 hours of my time last night was worth it. Over the next 4-5 days I reckon I'll play another 2-3 hours a day atleast, which would make my overall playtime 12 hours minimum, which means I've paid like 7-8 quid an hour for something to do. Whereas my other hobby, drinking, would cost me about £13 an hour, and I don't just do 2-3 hour sessions of that.

A lot of the lads I work with play it every year (I think I missed 2 years) and they enjoy it, so I know I'll also get some game time with them, and do the pro clubs stuff.

£20 extra for a week early is stupid in a way, but, I haven't bought it for 2 years, and nothing has changed, so ignoring the entire game for another year because it's fairly basic is going to do nothing to EA because they already have enough people who will buy it, and buy microtransactions anyway. Me making a stand by ignoring it will do nothing.

End of the day EA FC 25 is an easy play and can jump in and out of with mates. It's basically a socialising thing these days, but without the actual socialising thing. It's this generations playing out on bikes.

Edit: sorry if this comes across as dickish, it wasn't meant, I was playing devil's advocate in a way, I understand both sides of the argument.

All good! Don’t see it as dickish at all. Just wondering how others see it yeah.

And there it is.....

After a few pages of everyone complaining about how bad it is, and how they've basically released the same game.......again.....
It's back to everyone talking about packs and TOTW for the next hundred pages, playing the game like addicts.

And we wonder why they won't move on from Frostbite!

Figured out how to change the rush commentator. They had french as an option which isn't annoying or I could turn it off fully which I might eventually. The English guy is horrendous.

It’s the worst thing I’ve ever heard

I shouldn’t buy the game anymore as I know Ea are scumbags but I pre order because fifa is the only game I play nowadays, I don’t have time to play long single player story games anymore as much as I’d love to, yes I play UT only as a game mode and I’m very aware of the way it is driven towards buying points and gambling aspect but I don’t do that, with the addition of evolutions I just try get a good United men’s and ladies team each year.

Played a few more games of rush, just trying to get to 70k to get all the free xp. People not even attempting to pick the players for a bonus sucks which is gonna make this twice as long.

I feel the rush games are too long though.

Also, only 12 matches on the squad challenge thing? Madness.

"FC 25 has Roma and Napoli back in the game..." -- Nice. ---- "... but are losing Inter, AC Milan, Lazio, and Atalanta" -- Oh.

(I don't know why I worry about it anymore, they'll screw up career mode anyway)

From the 2 games I played before getting bored, they have maybe fixed the slow defenders issue, which should make single player/career a bit less crap with some fiddling with the settings/sliders.

I just haven't had any desire yet to go back to it and find out

Something needs doing with rush.

All 3 of my team mates got sent off so we got feck all for playing most of the game. Fair enough, give them feck all but I didn't get sent off.

Next game we had 2 sticky spanners on the team who were shite. They both left after a bit and left us with 2 AI players. TBF, the AI was better than the 2 that left anyway but still made it difficult

Edit: appears a lot more people are going for the bonus points with their players pickers though

5 min games would be good, but 7 mins isn't the end of the world.

I only did rush in FUT a bit, but I was only using the player that I was doing my evolution for. Couldn't be arsed to play with a random player who isn't that fun to play with otherwise. It'd either be using one of my favourite players or the evolution player, the bonuses don't come into it for me.

Spent all my points on draft, have a 52-3 record which has gotten me to this team;
Oblak
Carvajal Araujo Alaba Camavinga
Frenkie
Dunn Lavelle
Debinha
Rodrygo Oshoala

Not sure what I think of Oshoale, think someone on Twitter hyped her up to sell her for a lot of coins.

Made my way to division 3 in Rivals, but gosh do I hate how most players play this game. Holding R1 the entire game, just spinning in circles until there's an opening. I find it so incredibly boring, feels extra good to beat them.

If anyone wants the FC 25 early, you can get EA Play for 99p for 1 month. It gives you 10 hours of play time.

Seems loads of people have put money into this game as usual.

I’m only in Div 6 and getting matched with 87+ rated teams constantly, I’m still using low rated rare golds. They can’t compete at all.

Incredibly long shot but has career mode made any significant changes?

If not I'm unlikely to bother this year.

Sorry meant to reply to this. I’ll play some career tonight hopefully and let you know.

There has been a decent amount of changes but in many ways it feels like little has changed.

They’ve the new European Swiss league for clubs.

I’m also Ireland manager and so far it’s just been friendlies.

Seems to crash a bit for some reason , I save and go back in.

Youth development has probably had the most changes. Slightly different layout when choosing how to develop a player and you can choose special qualities that boost a players ratings.

I like growing a team from youth development so it was nice to see these changes.

There are also more things like you can choose to instant scout all players from the start . So in the game now you don’t have to scout anybody , you can see their stats. You can also choose to not have to worry about fitness or resting players if you have loads of games (players fit for every game).

There’s a few other things you can Fanny about with aswell. All in all, a lot of cosmetic stuff, some I like and others a bit meh, but I’m not sure they’ve given career mode anymore time they they usually do which is very little.

That said, I still like career mode so don’t regret getting it.

How's the AI? Do all teams still play like prime Barca on legendary difficulty? Do they have different tactics or is it literally just wave after wave of attack from the oppo?
Very interested in this too, feels like a decade now without a decent single player footie game. Ridiculous really.

I absolutely despise it.

Players are so slow with the ball, but defenders are rapid.

90% of passes get cut out.

Most players have 90+ rated players in their team, how?!

Also, fecking 15 wins in rivals?!

Granted this might be a skill level but Christ, I’m finding it almost unplayable.

Have you taken a break before going back to this one?

I played every fifa until maybe 2 or 3 years ago. I then had a game against my brother-in-law about 2 months ago and I got absolutely annihilated. Was like everyone was stuck in mud.

No, straight in from 24. Weird.

I always play as crap teams and build them up so can’t say for sure.

I’ve moved down a level cause like you said there was Bohemians keeper keeping a clean sheet when XG was 3.9 and I was just pelting his goal. They were top saves.

What’s when more annoying is that when I score he goes from being Gordon Banks to having your full back go in goals.

Also, seems to be crashing a lot for some reason. Don’t know what that’s about. Crashing in the career menu, not a match.

In my first career season, there was some glitch for European games and there were no group games , only knockout. Then, the next season, all the teams that should have qualified last season were in Europe.

So I started again and put time into making it a proper season. Transfer all city, Newcastle and PSG players to Waterford and drogheda (I play as shelbourne) and fill those poxy teams with 45 rated Chinese lads.

Just got to hope FIFA 2K is miles better but I won’t be holding me breath for it. Really could do with a good entertaining football video game as there is clearly a market for it.

Unbelievable that no other developer has even had a go at this for years.

I wouldn’t even be bothered about licensing. Just make a great game!
