I was a striker or centre back myself when I played in any sort of game, so I have an affinity for them.
1. de Ligt. I think he is a fantastic centre back and leadership is such an important trait. Won titles all over Europe and is starting to show his tenacity and class at United.
2. Lewandowski. Quality finisher and one of the last truly great number 9s.
3. Rooney. Peak Rooney was a combination of the most exciting and most selfless player you could get. His explosiveness and desire meant that very few touched him in terms of “must watch” at his very peak.
4. Drogba. I just loved the combination of power, pace and technical ability. He had everything you would want from a number 9, including the ability to produce performances in big games. Some of his goals couldn’t be scored by anyone else.
