I literally must have said or implied quite a few times that I see no issues in spurs being ambitious as a club. I’m literally just saying them being 4th now and getting to the last 16 of the CL is not “disastrous”. I don’t really get what you’ve taken issue with. I do not expect spurs to be competing for major honours anytime soon.
And nobody outside of Spurs does…
I’m not confusing anything. I’m then being moaned at by yourself and another poster for saying Spurs being in 4th isn’t actually that bad
whilst emphatically stating Levy is doing a bad job . Both things can be correct. You’re telling me im wrong for saying spurs fans are expecting success and then weirdly the poster you’re agreeing with is telling me actually spurs fans do expect success. That is confusing…
I think if you made a poll asking football fans where spurs would finish in the league and cl the majority would say 4th and last 16. You can see how spurs are perceived in this thread or any spurs related thread on the internet. The majority of People do not expect spurs to win or challenge for major trophies. They expect them to be in the battle for 4th and have a few cup runs.
Their spend isn’t as much as teams above them, so their margin for error is lower. When Spurs came 2nd Leicester won the league… that says a lot. It’s quite clear the PL is in a very different place now to what it was between 2015 and 2017. So again Spurs margin for error is far less. And they’re making big errors in the transfer market.
It is a possible to say that Levy is doing badly, hiring inappropriate managers, and that their transfer business is poor as well as also saying them being 4th and still within a chance of finishing in the CL spots doesn’t quantify as being a disastrous season. If you can accept that then things are simple.
