FAO: Arteta

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta on the abuse Kai Havertz and his wife have endured since Sunday's FA Cup defeat: "It is incredible, honestly. We really have to do something about it because accepting it has terrible consequences. It is something we have to eradicate in the game. It is dependent on action.

"On 27 December we win 1-0. Havertz scores a goal and the whole stadium is singing his song. That was just 20 days ago, so where is the perspective? We are all responsible for the narrative and we cannot look somewhere else. It is a really serious matter.

"The line has to be drawn. It cannot happen. That is what we should aim for."

I agree with Arteta, and the abuse family Havertz need to deal with is disgusting. But does he not understand that jumping up and down and screaming, ranting, and raging on the touch line, firing up the fan mob against opposition players and referees are the kind of actions that spark worse behaviour? You are part of the problem you are asking to eradicate.

His pre-match briefing: Lads, the game vs Man Utd has no VAR. Let's dive at every opportunity to get freekicks, penalty and people sent off. Lo and behold.

His terrible antics have been coached to his team. I can't stand the manager and Arsenal players, cnuts.

If we had half-decent referees in the PL, this type of crap would be stamped out and offenders carded.
We have to witness and listen to his post match whinging about all the problems.....who, honestly gives a rat's arse about the arrogant self entitled jackass. Who has created a monster of a deceitful shower of diving duplicitous frauds. Nothing is easier than finding faults, so stop it, and only he can change the way they play. But I doubt that his arrogance will allow it.

No he doesn't. He's not done anything else than professional football all his life. His life is a bubble. As far as he is concerned breaking the rules is fine if you don't get caught. Why do you think so many footballers cheat on taxes? Or cheat on their spouses? To them it's just another example of conning the ref or their spouse. If you get away with it you've done nothing wrong.

Arsenal fans are a big culprit in this though.

They have blamed that loss on Havertz, yes he did not have the best of games but the way they have been speaking about him, its a joke.

In the same game, Rice missed 1 sitter and 2 good chances, Odegard missed a penalty yet, its all abuse on Havertz.

Its just an agenda from the Arsenal fans, to a player who is their top scorer.
