FAO: Arteta

It's fascinating how he has avoided criticism until only fairly recently.

They've still spent a huge amount of money but haven't won anything since 2020. I said the other day, he'll come to regret not winning the Carabao Cup this season.

If they finish 3rd/4th this season without a trophy, he's failed.

This will end up being no different to the late Wenger era (2006 - 2013) when finishing in the top 4 became something to be celebrated.

Rightly so.

Yes, It’s funny that they’ve fecked up the first season in about five years where City had a bad run and a newbie is taking full advantage of it. But till last season, coming second to the City juggernaut was no cause for shame.

Lego Mourinho (without trophies)
Lego Wenger - specialist in failure.

Wenger barely spent anything as they paid of that stadium. And he did win trophies.

Arteta has no excuses. He's spent big and the style of play is tumescent.

Even the United twitter page is taking the piss out of him

For all the good he/they has done the funny thing is because of the lack of trophies no one will remember this Arsenal side in a few years.

He's improved them from the shambolic state they were in but it is starting to look like he's taken them as far as he can.

That said if they bought him a proper striker he could end up winning a few titles. That's the difference for me, he's trying to win the league with attacking midfielders as strikers.

LEGO Atletico. Can’t stand the way they farm ‘fouls’

I was fewwwwwwwwmin with them today, completely odious bunch.

Think I enjoyed the W more than the FA cup final.

209 games for Everton
150 games for Arsenal

Arsenal through and through.

I would hate to have him as a manager. Seems like he’s more interested in being seen as a crafty genius than winning three points. All the quirks and other little things they do hasn’t resulted in anything for them.

Just play football instead of all the extra bollocks. In his head he probably feels like he’s a combo of Pep and Simeone. In reality, he’s really a lot closer to the mid table head coaches than the top coaches.

After so many years, he has found the tactics of play acting. Absolute nonsense.

Yes, Arsenal maybe good at corners and set pieces but his gameplay especially this season seems to be angling to get those

Love his bitter comments after the game. He had everything in the Emirates FA Refs supporting Emirates Teams in the Emirates FA Cup go all his way and he still lost. We broke him with this result.

Never a truer saying that teams resemble their manager when it comes to Arteta.
For some reason he's a media darling when the truth is he's a snide, arrogant wanker who hasn't achieved anything.

I understand the frustration at him because of his behavior and obvious dark arts, but I think he has done really well.

He has the 7th highest point per game in the history of the league and Arsenal were absolutely nowhere with a mess of a dressing room when he joined.

He needs to do better in cup competitions, and the club need to address their failures in recent transfer policy, but he has made them a serious club again, and they would have a title won well if it weren’t for a club breaking the rules.

I think they should stick with him and back him with a striker.

It's quite clear he's a good manager, but the frustration is that that team seems to be geared to the worst kind of shithousery and that's clearly under instruction otherwise it wouldn't be so prevalent in how they play. It's how he goes about doing things that grinds my gears, and how they seem to get away with it... Like the Technical area, it's a "small thing" but he is always outside of it and never gets penalised for it. I've seen managers booked for that, how come he is allowed carte blanche?

Much like the imbalance in yellows and fouls yesterday, it feels like they just get more freedom from refs to be assholes.

Yeah, I think the dark arts and trying to grind out points was his response to not winning the league on 89 points last season, and it was a bad one.

It has made them too pragmatic and conservative and ended up costing them points, and you’re right, the team are much less likeable because of qualities he has encouraged.

He made them into an expensive Stoke who still wins feck all.

They definitely weren’t that last season, and they got 89 points. That is excellent. He has gone way too dirty and too pragmatic this season and his arrogance might stop him addressing that, but it was a pretty faultless rebuild until the last summer.

He has let us all down by letting Liverpool win the league this season. He also comes across as too on-edge to ever be able to maintain a 1st place finish over a 38 game season. As a manager, you're meant to exude composer in a title race and instead he gets rattled over the tiniest of things, which seems to permeate to his players during high pressure games.

Cause he feeds into the British obsession that patience eventually pay off. That rarely does of course

Can't believe you're disrespecting that 2023 Community Shield win!

Difference is that Wenger did it while on a shoestring budget because they had to pay off the new stadium, whereas Arteta spent a feck load.

I completely standing by your players, but Mikel Arteta shows no grace in defeat whatsoever. He's done well for Arsenal, but he's a sniveling shitbag who's starting to smell like a rotten fish.

His pre-match briefing: Lads, the game vs Man Utd has no VAR. Let's dive at every opportunity to get freekicks, penalty and people sent off. Lo and behold.

His terrible antics have been coached to his team. I can't stand the manager and Arsenal players, cnuts.

His insistance that he doesn't need a quality centre forward will ultimately cost him his job. He is as stubborn as Ange at Spurs.

whether he thinks that or not the correct thing to do would be play it down

strikers are the most expensive and sought after asset in he game so playing down your need for one publicly is only logical

If we had half-decent referees in the PL, this type of crap would be stamped out and offenders carded.
