I'm risking it with Haaland. I don't have Alvarez in the team currently and it would likely just be a switch from Haaland to Alvarez next week. Means I can focus on bringing in Jota next week.

I also think Joao Pedro is about to become a must have. Brighton's fixtures are very kind and he's been in decent cup form of late.

Douglas Luiz or Solanke this week?

My only worry with bringing in Jota is that come DGW25 he's back to being benched. Realistically I would expect him to start one of those games and get some mins off the bench in the other which maybe will be enough.

Maybe. Is Foden one of the 3 you want for the upcoming double? As an isolated fixture it could easily backfire but if he's in your plans then why not. It's the best fixture of the weekend for the best team in the league. I would love to double up on City but I don't think Haaland is quite there and I don't really fancy another mid from them because xmins.
There is that weird thought that I brought in Bowen last week in that stupid early move and now he's fit and has a very good fixture, and seems like someone I should hold because he plays in 26 and might even play in 29 if Villa get knocked out, plus his underlyings I think are better than Foden. It's obviously great to have a City mid this week, but I already do have Alvarez and feel like the way things are going, doing sort of a luxury transfer now as opposed to saving a transfer may hurt me as well especially as Bowen will play up front vs a team that got pumped 4-0 recently. And it's City, there's no guarantee Foden will be a good FPL option for the double while Bowen is as nailed and talisman of that team. Alvarez could also continue getting starts if both KDB and Haaland will miss games or mins, and he's had most minutes this season in that attack plus takes set pieces and pens in the absence of the big guys.

Ideally I should sell Palmer for Foden, because I might end up selling him before the blank anyway, or if I hold on this move later on I can do Richa to Foden or whichever City mid I want while holding Bowen throughout and not using extra transfers to move a player who is nailed and playing as the main goalscorer with excellent fixtures apart from the arsenal game. It's just this fecking Burnley game where I am worried Foden could punish me badly as he will be captained by a lot as well. Kinda makes me wanna captain Bowen this week.

Then you should roll Moby. Any time you're in a position to it's usually the right move. The fitness of both Haaland and Salah might be clearer then as well as any more doubles/blanks. Yeah I'd be annoyed taking Bowen out this week and watching him haul (again). Kudus should be back as well shouldn't he?

Current team:

Raya
Porro, Saliba, Estupinian, Doughty
Saka, Palmer, Bowen, Foden
Alvarez, Twatkins

Subs: Dubravka, Branthwaite, Archer, Son

Option 1: Archer to Haaland (bench Doughty).
Option 2: Son to Jota (bench Doughty).
Option 3: Roll transfer and start with above team.

@CassiusClaymore @Moby @BeforeKeanetherewasRobson @Sandikan @others

I think option 2 is a no brainer. Liverpools current No.9 classed as a midfielder for under 8 mil.

I am going to start Haaland over Saka, but it’s probably not worth the -4 unless Pep says he is starting.

It’s worth the risk i think. They will score goals in any game, home to Chelsea or away to Arsenal doesn’t matter for the attack. A tasty home fixture to Burnley after that and probably at least one start in the double.

So potentially 4/5 games and a fifth off the bench as a number 9 for the best attack in the league.

Haaland was my single transfer this week as well but I really doubt he starts, but he will play minimum 30 mins and if you wanna move early and risk someone coming back from a bad injury thinking he will be needed later anyway then sure. I think it's okay just that you might wanna wait for seeing how he's looking.

For Jota it depends on your plan if you really want to cement that Liverpool spot then sure but I guess it's not urgent now as he has Chelsea and Arsenal in the next two and can wait till Burnley to know more about the Salah situation as well.

Yeah Kudus is back and Paqueta will be back soon as well.

It's a tough one, I could end up holding Bowen and he ends up blanking in 29 anyway and then I have to do the same transfer two weeks later if Foden continues to look like the best City option. So it is really about how much I feel the upside with Foden vs Burnley this week as opposed to Bowen vs Bournemouth and weigh it against the extra information that I will have in two week time to assess the situation with extra transfers.

Some stats for the Haaland or not decision:

Haaland vs Burnley: 5 goals in 142 minutes

Haaland coming back from Injury:
For Dortmund:
Knee problems (out for a month) summer 2020: 27 minutes and 1 goal against Dusseldorf
Torn musclefiber (out for a month) dec. 2020: 81 minutes no returns
Muscle issues (out for 3 weeks) oct. 2021: 90 minutes and 2 goals against Mainz
Hip flexor injury (out for a month) oct/nov 2021: 17 minutes and 1 goal against Wolfsburg and 27 minutes and 2 goals against Besiktas (CL)
City:
Knocked foot (out for 10 days) oct. 2022: 26 minutes and 1 goal against Fulham
Groin injury (out for 2 weeks) march 2023: 69 minutes and 2 goals against Southampton

I'm almost convinced to go there even without news....

Meh, I just don't see it with Haaland. I think he'll get around 10 minutes to be honest, now that he wasn't even on the bench in the cup.

If you lead already 4-0 and he's only 80%, why even risk him for 10 minutes? Not worth the -4 for me at least.

Now I've probably jinxed it, but sticking my head out there and keeping Alvarez.

I raally want Joao Pedro too. Such an influential player and on pens in a team that scores a bunch each game.

I just don't have the balls to transfer him in for Watkins as he has a really good fixture-list. Then there's in form Darwin + Haaland you need room for too. Annoying decision to make.

Dammit i want to play Olise but not sre he starts or not?

But hard to bench Watkins or Isak since they both start.
I you don't play Olise this GW, what's the point of him in your squad

Well you tell me who you would bench then?

Makes sense, jst hard to bench penalty takers:nervous:
He wold be a dead cert to start if i knew that he would start for Palace, but he has been out injured so that is why im struggling to decide.
I'm just messing with you. Potentially a nice differential in the era of the template, but as long as he's is a doubt I think bench/sell is the way to go. Concidering Palace' form the last 10 games this is the only good fixture they have even with a "green" fixture-list....

The reason i picked Olise is mainly because he does not blank on GW 25 and he is a great differential.

Watkins, Archer, Solanke... Whom to replace to get in Haaland?

And any particular week in which people are looking to use the WC?

That's big if you can do Archer to Haaland. But does it mean you've no funds to get any of TAA or Salah back in shortly?

What the heck we doing with this pals?

Areola
Gabriel Estu Trippier
Luiz Saka Garnacho Palmer
Alvarez (c) Archer Watkins

lascelles 50%, Maguire probs benched SALAH (out)

11.1m in the bank, 2 of the starting 3 defenders are yellow but hopefully play.

  1. Archer to Haaland (leaves Alvarez there though and then only 1.6m to deal with TAA in later)
  2. Salah to Jota
  3. Something else
Have Alvarez captain at the mo, could change to Jota if i did option 2 but doesn't feel big.

Preparing to eat my words but I just don't see Haaland being fit enough to start. Appearance off the bench definitely but that's not enough for me.

I've not sold Son yet and SK are playing Saudi today 2 hours before the deadline.

If they're losing, Son would be back for GW 24 latest, even 23, and so I don't see the point of selling him.

I might even roll my transfer.

Fallen to about 70k overall which is disappointing. I need to bench one of Watkins (vs Newcastle), Bowen (vs Bmouth), Solanke (vs West Ham) or Gross (vs Luton). I'm leaning towards benching Gross but he's quite a nice differential vs Luton. What say you Caf?

You could do 1. and 2. for a minus 4 as well and bench one of Garnacho and Luiz. Probably Luiz who has the lowest upside.

What is the view on Maddison? He was putting in ridiculous stats and is ready to start again - but the Spurs blank in a few weeks time is stopping me..

If those 4 are your only bench options and you're just outside top 70k, then I'm so sorry for you. Poor thing.
Jokes aside, it's a tough choice, but I'd lean against benching Solanke. That said, Gross probably has the lowest ceiling of the four, so it's probably not a bad choice even though he is kind of talismanic for them right now.

I said the same thing about KDB the other week.

I think Haaland might get an hour before being rested. Just have a feeling he'll be brought back into the fold. Tempted to even captain.

If youre bringing Haaland in you may as well captain him
