Neco or Patterson to Gabriel and Sancho to another 8m midfielder Diaz if you want safe or Mahrez for more risk but higher reward
Pope plays Liverpool and City in the first 5 games, which has ruled out pretty much any Newcastle player for me.
Im changing that. Tell me two cheap midfielders below 7m

Gonna spend today tinkering with my team only to end up with exactly what it was at the start of the day.
Some questions I have....
Rashford worth a punt now that Martial is out and he'll most likely lead the line?
Perisic too much of a gamble in GW1? (I love his potential ceiling though)
Keep Bailey at a price point that leaves you not many places to go?
Double Leicester gk until the first wildcard at least to free up cash?
Kane or Haaland to start the season?

Shit I've no spare money at all. I'll have to get rid of someone. I may just leave him on the bench and hope Bailey gets minutes.

Yes that is a good point
But Kane doesn't typically start a season well.
But then he always smashes Southampton.
But then we've all sat watching him pushing about on the half way line line we have him!!
Keepers definitely do the 4m pair.
Bailey could be one of those gems and you can go down to a few starter 4.5ms.
My worry is more when I'll field him as I'll probably have 5 big defenders, front 2 unmovable then salah Rashy, Martin.
But Maybe Trippier is benchable on some aways.
50 50 with Kane and Haaland.
If haaland outscored Kane this week we'll all feel silly as then Haaland has a great run.
But what if Haaland is eased in while Kane 16 points it?
Think this will do.
Any advice? toying with the idea of Alvarez instead of Haaland and upgrading one if the midfielders.

- No for me mainly as I haven't seen anything from Rashford to suggest he'd suddenly start banging in goals. Can be anyone from our team. Sancho is the only decent play but not for that price.
- I'm starting with him, watch the video of the quotes to get better context but he is obviously not nailed but definitely features in the game. Most Spurs fans are confident he will start.
- The upgrades on Bailey are Neto, Martinelli, Rodrigo etc and given that I'm ok to start with him. Two of the easiest fixtures you can have to start, although I have been underwhelmed by Villa a lot last season so I do worry about that. But unless you are upgrading to a 7.5 or 8 they are all equally puntish.
- I dont mind it but I had an extra 0.5 lying around so just got Sanchez as insurance for now. They rotate quite well as well but if you really really need that 0.5 keepers don't really make a huge difference.
- Haaland if your plan is to switch after GW2. Not going with both anymore?

Punted on him because its a game a week, and he did 75 mins in the last pre-season game no? So I would assume he's virtually ready now.- Baily has tasty fixtures to start and I would guess he's starting. But my worry is if he starts slow/gets injured again, you'll be a bit stuck.

Those two were the two main template teams I was switching between for a long time before moving on from both. The 4-4-2 is safe but I have been big on Robbo over Diaz so I was more inclined on the 5 at the back. Both are great only thing I'd say is not to waste money on the bench. Benching headache plus if you are not gonna start Bailey, Neto, Martinelli at the start then why have them? Especially when we have playing mids like Andreas who is not only starting but right now the second best attacker in a high scoring Fulham team. That's enough insurance.
Robertson easily over Dias as well if that's possible for your team.

Rashford - might be worth a punt for the first couple of weeks. He's in the Martinelli spot in my team at the mo and I prefer us at home to Brighton over Arsenal away at Palace especially if I have Saka in the £8m mid slot. Think options will open up below his price point after the first few weeks anyway if you need to downgrade.
Perisic - I really think he could be this season's James. Will haul every few weeks and then get a bunch of 1's in between. Gut feeling is if he starts v Southampton he will haul.
Bailey - I think I'm kidding myself here and this is entirely based on that Bournemouth fixture. They look set to be the whipping boys this year and he's the cheapest way into that Villa attack after a good pre season and with Gerrard bigging him up. He is definitely gone though by GW4 so is it worth it?
Leicester GK's - I actually don't mind picking these to free up that £0.5m until the first wildcard. Could use it to turn Bailey into a £5.5m mid or start with the safer Trippier and turn him into Perisic if he's playing. Unless you're picking a £5m gk like Pope or Ramsdale I don't think any of the £4.5m ones are especially better.
Kane or Haaland - The big one. I did have a draft with both that I quite liked but I didn't like losing Robertson. Again, gut says Spurs start on fire at home and Kane is involved in the goals. We don't even know if Haaland will start though I'd be surprised if he didn't. Starting with Kane is almost certainly booking in the Haaland transfer in GW2 though so if doing that the rest of the team needs to have more solid picks.
Too much money on the bench. Scrap Henderson & Luiz.
No Salah is suicide.
Robertson over Nunez by a country mile, and Diaz albeit to a lesser extent.
You think Robertson outscores Kane/Son for GW1-6?
For me Rashford is worth a punt as much as anyone in that bracket. Probably more as he looks a bit better in pre. Good chance he scores more than Neto who everyone has (I know he’s a mill more though).

The Bluemoon guess the line up thread is quite helpful for this - found it useful last year but obviously doesn’t remove the uncertainty you get with Pep. When I looked the other day he was in every predicted starting XI.

I mean it's possible looking at the fixtures. Can easily see 4 x Liverpool clean sheets, the odd assist and bonus. Added to that it's Kane plus a base defender so £15.5m outlay v Robertson + £8.5m which is a hell of a lot to distribute.
On the flip side I would captain Kane for GW3 and GW6 so...

Yeah that's the main thing, if Spurs guys look like captain options then you'd gain a lot more from that.
Also the thing is you can cover arsenal defender who have great fixtures or even a city defender with 5m. So its Robertson + 8m mid or Kane + City/Arse def...

Yeah with the draft I just posted I could turn Trippier or Walker into Gabriel or Zinchenko.

Yeah. I'm hoping for Trippier attacking returns either sides of those games. I'd bring in Andreas or Williams for GW3 and GW5. Andreas in particular has decent home fixtures in both.

Rash might be a bit heart over head. Neto is a safer but boring pick I guess. Aaronson from Leeds is interesting at £5.5m as well.
Edit: In fact i'll have Patterson instead of Williams as my £4m defender. Great fixtures in 3 and 5.

Sorry meant Walker. No Cancelo with threemium (I can actually have him, it's Dias+James or Cancelo+5m) so right now it's Walker and Dias.
Yeah Trippier can bang either side, I guess I'm a bit low on set piece threat even though he did score last season in few games. But yeah decent shout anyway. The rotation is interesting, I think Andreas can easily become a starting player in a couple of weeks anyway.
What about Martinelli in that bracket? I am actually a bit cold on Martinelli as I don't wanna double up on Arsenal with those first two fixtures, and I had Martinelli so much last season and he never did anything, and again in pre-season he didn't really get goals. Neto is more of a goal threat I think. Leeds are pretty unknown so probably a wait and watch.
Same. Think maybe people are getting a bit carried away with pre-season form. Let's see if they carry it on into competitive matches. Palace is a good first test.
Overall just around 2% so far based on Iversen 2.5% ownership. I guess the ones doing it say they are doing it.
