There's no one else to bench in that team. He ends up being backup in case Bailey flops.

It doesn’t affect James or the right side of defense. Won’t pick Chilwell or Cucurella.
It does though if Cucu is gonna play as the LCB, reducing the possibility of James starting as RCB now that they have an extra CB.
Exactly it’s good for James if he doesn’t play CB anymore and only as a wingback. Silva, Koulibaly, Cucu, Chalobah and Azpi to play as CBs.

I would say LCB, an excellent defender but don’t know if he’s good enough going forward for a Tuchel wingback. 1 goal and 1 assist last season.
I would love to put Cucurella in, even as a CB, he is worth 5 million, but I need a starter for Saturday!
Are Chelsea the best defensive side in the league? My brother in our draft league picked 4 Chelsea defenders if you include Cucurella. I got 0 haha I am worried.

Nowhere near the best, I think they're going to struggle defensively for the first few weeks. Even James is 50/50 for me.

Hello again all. Set my team up today, after purposely not paying any attention all summer. As you can see, I have read a few bits online and come up with a completely template squad. Any feedback welcome.

Also gutted that there doesn’t seem to be a Lundstram or Livramento at 4 million this year.

If Spurs get more clean sheets than Chelsea I will probably be ahead of my brother.
I got Lloris and Doherty and Dier is free that I can replace Doherty with if rotation starts.
My teams in draft feels too strong. Very hard to pick who to bench every week.
Benching Toney over Wilson this time, but he can easily ruin the Ward/Iversen clean sheet.
Everyone will struggle with rotation mate, there is 5 subs this season. Your team is similar to mine, two strikers and a solid defence. Time will tell though, looks good to me!

Why has everyone gone of Bruno G? Was beast last season and had like 30% ownership in the first week.
He is a deeper midfielder rather than a #10 so less GI. Also there are better players at this price point who had a better preseason. And last season was too small a sample size to go off.
Triple United attack? I wouldn’t triple up on anyone except Liverpool and City.
I've gambled on him with Bailey on the bench as a back up.

Ward and Iversen are both 4m aren't they? So a brilliant way to have a guaranteed 4m starter keeper unless you want more Leicester players elsewhere, or they bring another keeper in and leave with you with 2 non playing ones soon!
Good point. I think Sancho will be big this year for us, and with Ronaldo out of the picture, Bruno will be back on free kicks and penalties.
Not crazy about Martial, but I reckon he'll start Sunday. Not sure who else I would go for in that position, but I'm open to suggestions.
Ya Schmeichel's officially gone to Nice. Iverson was surprisingly put into the game at 4m so I'm definitely starting with them both now.
You don’t have Kane, Haaland, Son or KDB. If you don’t have those guys at least your defense needs to be stacked and yet I don’t see Cancelo, Robertson or James. I think you’re spreading your funds too much which means you don’t have one strong area on the pitch.
Didn't he finish the season as a 10 though? I picked him based on his position and performances in the last few Newcastle games.
