Fantasy Premier League 22/23

Just did a draft team (from players who team has been announced) thought it looked quite good, then I saw that everyone was away from home

Raya
TAA Cancelo James Tomiyasu
Salah Martinelli Mount Neto Diaz
Haaland

Trippier on FKs and corners with Dan Burn and Botman... worth a punt at 5m

The best defenders outside top 4 are very cheap. Could build a great side without premium defenders.

Still think the premium defs are worth it for relative clean sheet safety, but more explosive potential with many 5 and some 4.5 and using that money for one extra premium.

Players being too expensive is a bigger problem than too cheap. That's how you end up with the template squads.

You need people to have decisions to make

Trippier and Ward Prowse are looking as good cheaper options.
My only dilemma now is Salah. 13 fecking mill. Is he worth it? With Son 2 mil (?) cheaper

I think dividing up that Salah money among premium defenders and likes of Diaz/Son etc.. looks a good play.

He is a beast and will continue to be one, but his numbers were noticeably lower with Diaz in the side and now they have a proper number 9 who wants goals too.

Assuming there are no new rules, a team can look pretty amazing with no Salah and still have 2-3 great Liverpool options.

Nobody thinking about Rashford? 6.5 mil looking as a bargain. IF he will be starter of course.

Do you think they have bumped up the prices of budget midfielders and forwards, as we haven’t seen any 4.5, lowest midfielder has been 5 and the lowest forward has been 5.5? May be why some players have appeared cheaper

Made a draft already which looks absolutely killer. It wasn't a struggle at all.

Not impressed at all with the prices. It's dumbing down the game too much. :(

Did you have any 4.5 mids or forwards in your draft?

Only a couple in my entire squad and only one in my starting 11 who is an Arsenal defender.

It's very very easy this year to pick a strong starting team.

Fanteam on the other hand is looking trickier which I like. Better prizes too.

Are we thinking Monday then? Are all prices released then?
Or do we think they'll annoy us all by making it Tuesday? Or later.

Or....he goes down in goals as he hasn't got Mane putting in insane work rate in the front line.

Insane work rate that's actually marginally below that of the 2 forward signings Liverpool have signed in 2022 (Diaz and Nunez) - and absolutely well below that of Firmino and Jota.

I wouldn't worry Mane's work rate being an issue to Salah's output.

Mane's work rate below Firmy and Jota? Not sure about that.

Monday 5 remaining teams. So tuesday?

Surely they don't need to reveal all the prices and then unleash the game?

Yeah I think the only decision to make for me will be Son or Salah which will dictate my midfield picks.

Trent, Robertson, Chilwell, City defender, Tomiyasu fairly locked for defence.

Probably Sanchez in goal. Haaland and 2 cheap attackers up front.

Stop telling everyone my team ffs.

Love that there's already a template out before the game is even unleashed.

There's ALWAYS a template.... regardless of what they do. Not sure why people moan about it every single year.

Son £12m mid.
Kane same price as Haaland.
Perisic £5.5m defender.

Wow I thought Son would be more like 10-11 range. I think 12 is maybe a bit high considering you can get Salah for only 1 million more?

Perisic could be interesting though...

Knew he was going to be 12m. He's been up there in every season he has been in the Premier League, and his last two seasons has been Salah level.

Spurs right back for 5 very tempting. Not sure I trust someone to be nailed.

Kulu for 8 could be a gem, but also get rotated.

12 for Son is fair he is that good. It is not too cheap and not too expensive. Just like Salah a fair cost.

I do think Son should be more than KDB though.

Costs are really weird in def. All these attacking fullbacks very cheap.

Maybe they will add recoveries :(. I bloody hope not since playing 5 at the back would then be too obvious and make every forward apart from the best ones really shit.

12 is too high for a player who doesn't take pens. I'll pass

Teasing aren't they. The site comes back up and you have to do your usual pre season preferences etc, and then the game isn't properly set yet!!

I guess but Son is in a worse team, doesn't take pens and always outperforms his expected data... But I do like that little shit so I might consider it...

But in reality, my premiums will most likely be Salah, Haaland, TAA and I'll build my team around that...

Doubt I will fit Son in.
