Fantasy Premier League 22/23

I thought I was missing something here and checked it, he has one goal since the restart.

4 assists though and he’s had chances in recent games too. I’m willing to take the risk, it’s not like I have much choice or a way to win any of my leagues by playing the exact same team as everyone else.

That's fine but this guy looks like a complete dud.

this new left back role is not too promising indeed

To think I was pleased checking the lineup and seeing him start. Then noticed Wilson too and thought hmmm.

As it stands Wilson might be the better to own for the double. He scores more given pro rata pitch time.

Everyone seems aboard Joelinton train but he actually appears as a much worse option as he tends to play much deeper now that everyone is back. Willock has had spells where he scored and assisted frequently (think he scored in like 6 games in a row last season) and is not a bad player at all.

Jacob Murphy is a good option but he’s going to rotate with Almiron.

Isak off the post.
2mins later Trippier beautiful cross to Schar 5 yards out, free header.

No points from either.

Anyone with Zinky lucks out.
Clear there's a sub at 57mins, yet it takes until 60:27 to happen!

For all of us that'd be a 59mins job

Dunno, except that one game vs man united where he scored he hasn't recorded of xG of more than 0.4 and that was also only once, usually it's a bunch of 0.0-0.2. Fair fecks if he turns into van basten for the dgw and you hit the jackpot but data doesn't seem to be there.

Schar own goal.
I have him  This has been my worst week ever I think. Between Haaland denying KDB about three assists, Gakpo missing from five inches and Schar scoring an own goal it could have hardly gone any worse.

He wasn’t really a dumb choice. He had a good chance to score today and is usually quite threatening on corners. Obviously very easy to dismiss that choice knowing he scored an own goal but he’s probably their second best asset in defense behind Trippier.

I have both my Newcastle defenders on bench and wouldn't have played any defenders in this game. I wasn't gonna rely on Trippier to have attacking returns as the only source of points, let alone these other jobbers.

Yep, Schar v Botman for example is way more goal threat.
Although Botman did actually get an assist last week - obvs on the bench!

But Schar should have scored properly today. Loads of space, 5 yards out.

I had him on my bench as well but Stones did not play, is all.

Yeah he’s great on corners. I actually like him a lot for the double.

Isak does not feel a great captain choice next week.
Could easily score less than Haaland in a single, in between 2 champs leagues semis!

Ooh, a brutal Pep roulette and own goal combo. You probably went into this GW expecting both of them to score.
I’m not a moron, I don’t really expect defenders to score every week.

In a GW, where I had points only from Salah's goal, that Martinelli assist is god sent.

24 points with 5 players to go. Hopefully the remaining players get more points than 1or 2.

You were unlucky with Schar, ignore the muppets in here.

He could / should have scored and the own goal is also unlucky.

I have Martinelli so got lucky with that but Schar is always a threat, I like him a lot for the DGW, though probably won’t go there myself.

I don’t really get too concerned with this game in particular, I expected Schar to probably get 1-2 points and own goals are not even penalized that heavily so no major issues. It’s the look of this week at large that is depressing as I am now on 18 points which could have easily been 40-45 with just a tiny amount of luck. Sometimes you make good decisions and they don’t pay you back. Anyway it’s just a game, hopefully I can gain back some ground next week.

Yeah, it’s incredible how tiny swings one way or the other can make such a difference in a good GW vs a bad one.

Indeed. I was going for a reasonably good week with Lindelof and De Gea delivering CS against Brighton only for it to regress to terrible when Mac Allister (owned by my rivals) scored. Basically a 15+ point swing in one play, which could have been even more if De Gea had (rather miraculously) saved that. And it’s not even like Mac Allister is a great choice, he barely crossed halfway line in this current role he’s been playing recently.
