Fantasy Premier League 22/23

I'm now 24,000 from breaking into the top 1,000,000. It's been a long road after a long stretch of bad luck through December and January of dropping to 2,500,000
78 points this week.

The past 4-6 weeks or more I've taken -4 to -8 hits and beat the average scores each time. I'm just hoping to be good enough to beat all y'all FH'ers this coming week. No matter what, I'll be back to winning ways after the FH hauls because everyone returns to their same crap teams :p

Yo Moby, Did you make that Salah trade early?

Yo Moby, Did you make that Salah trade early?
Yeah I brought him in this week instead of Grealish.

I had bought him instead of Haaland on Wc 27 when he missed a pen. Then sold him for Maddison before the blank and his so called tough dgw which backfired massively. So just wanted him back him as he was a must have for dgw34.

BUS FH team:

Johnstone
Trippier, TAA, White
Salah, Gakpo, Martinelli, Saka
Toney, Watkins, Kane

Subs: Iverson, Andreas, Mings, Neco

Yeah I might pour the milk in before the tea and wear socks whilst shagging but I'll be laughing if Kane gets a dodgy penalty and a deflected goal...

FH Team:

Sa, Johnstone
Trippier, TAA, Moreno, Kilman, Ream
Salah, Saka, Martinelli, Bowen, Olise
Jesus, Jota, Watkins

Undecided on a couple of things :

1. Do I back Trippier over Kane? Newcastle have looked very ropey recently and Kane always finds a way to score. Not sure who I would bring in for Trippier though.
2. Bowen vs Gakpo vs Jota. It's between Jota and Gakpo mainly. Not sure who to get out of the two. If Jota goes out for a cheap 3rd ST, 3-5-2 would be the play and then Bowen or even Olise would go out for Gakpo.

Could have done without that Salah haul, but now 3rd in the work league, nip and tuck with 2nd but about 35 behind 1st.

He has Salah and 1 fh left.

He'll probably have to use it week 34 as he has no United as it stands.

So looks like my best FH bet is to get on TAA, Gahkpo, Jesus for 3 this week.

Then see them draw 1-1 with Hendo scoring.

My team for the rest of the season;
Raya, Iversen
Trent, Trips, White, (Mings and Estupinan)
Gakpo, Salah, Odegaard, Saka, Mitoma
Toney, Haaland, (Isak).

Two changes for future; Grealish instead Odegaard and Rashy instead Gakpo.

Lets finish this!

If I can field a full team is it worth doing fh? Won’t have any Liverpool players, which could be great or could be awful

Yeah and the reason is that it's a much more nailed pick than delving into that attack outside of Salah. He still does provide an attacking threat as well but doubling up on Liverpool defence is just a but eurgh.
In the new system he's playing deeper as a third defender while Trent is playing in midfield so that attacking threat isn't quite there either. And yeah they aren't keeping any clean sheets.

Some odds for you...

Liverpool, Arsenal and Palace have the best odds of a clean sheet so your defence should come from those 3. Trippier is a shield pick because of his EO. I think even Leicester have slightly better odds of a cleanie than Newcastle.

Liverpool and Arsenal are miles ahead of teams likely to score the most goals so 2 from each? Newcastle, Fulham and finally Palace make up the top 5 in that category.

This is true and why I can't bring myself to double up on their defence. Has to be Trent + Salah + a gamble on a 3rd attacker if you want 3 from Liverpool.

Where are you with Palace? I feel like Dyche and Everton will come out with some dirty shite to get something out of this game. Especially uncomfortable in going for their defense or keeper. And in attack there's so many options in midfield and forward.

Yeah I see where you're coming from again. Palace are almost in a place where they can take their foot off the gas as well.

The way I see it I 100% want 3 players from Arsenal. I think despite their leakiness I want one to be a defender. I defo want Martinelli.
Not sure if I want 2 or 3 from Liverpool. I only want Trent from their 'defence' though. And Salah obviously as captain.
Newcastle and Spurs could go either way imo. Brave move is to avoid it or pick one team. If you're scared of EO you'll have Trippier and Kane.
Watkins is the form player in the league at the moment. Probably be silly to leave him out.

So that's White, Trent, Salah, Martinelli, Jesus, Watkins all in. Leaves a gk, defender, and 3 mids or 2 mids and 1 attacker. I think these 5 players are where you're going to make or break the week.

Personally I'll be picking 5 from these

Saints - Nope
Fulham - Leno, Willian, Andreas, Wilson
Leeds - Nope
Brentford - Toney
Villa - Ramsey, Moreno
Palace - Johnstone, Guehi, Eze, Olise
Everton - Nope
Leicester - Castagne, Maddison, Nacho
Wolves - Meh
Liverpool - Jota, Gakpo
Forest - Nope
Bournemouth - Solanke, Tavernier
West Ham - Bowen
Newcastle - Pope, Trippier, Schar, Almiron (just remembered he's fit now)
Spurs - Kane

A weak side but I can field a full XI this week.

Navas
Trippier, Henry, Zinchenko, TAA
Olise, Martinelli, Maddison, Saka
Watkins, Kane
Considering taking a -4 to take out Zinchenko for White depending on Arteta's press conference as I think a clean sheet at home to Soton is very likely.

If I could field XI without FH or hits, I'd probably save the chip, but it also depends on how strong your GW34 team looks now I guess.

Yeah I was thinking about Arsenal defender as again there are less options in defense as compared to attack and soton attack is pretty bad as well. I'm surely having minimum four attackers from Liverpool and Arsenal. Watkins is a lock. I'm also getting Trippier as he's at home and comes up with points even if they concede. Plus huge upside. In fact was thinking about Pope as well with the lack of keepers.

So for the remaining two attackers I guess one can be a Palace attacker. Even if Everton attack Palace probably get a goal or two. So that makes the last decision as White + Toney/Isak or Moreno + Jesus.

I'm steering clear of Isak purely because there's always a chance Wilson could start, especially after that Villa game. Jesus has scored every game since he's returned. I prefer him to Saka who looks a bit out of it since Saliba got injured. He's very wide as well. My rival has Moreno the jammy git. Got him in 2 weeks ago. Great pick.

But yeah I think a gamble on a Newcastle clean sheet could be a play.

Well had Saka scored that pen it would have been a better story, but yeah his open play threat has reduced although he still gets involved a lot. It also feels like you drop a guy who has given 1,1,0 in last three games on a FH and he pumps another 18 pointer.

I get the concern with Isak, Solanke is a decent alternative especially as West Ham is pretty much the only team who are playing in midweek and Bournemouth already look very good and are at home. Newcastle at home score a lot recently though so their attacker could still be good upside, especially with Spurs having the likes of Pedro Porro etc playing who are horrendous in defense. I won't be surprised if Newcastle completely pummel them this week. As an Isak owner in my actual team he's generally been very good.

Yeah like I keep saying. I'm getting this feeling that one or more of Gabriel, Saka, Trippier, Maddison or Kane is gonna pump me this week if I bin them. Can't play with this level of fear though. The only positive is that Salah will likely be the overwhelming captain so you'd hope the damage will be minimal if that happens.

Are you keeping Saka?

Martinelli is my first Arsenal attacker, after that I am deciding between Saka and Jesus and might just go with all three as well. We will probably get some news as well. Jesus has also been back from injury and played a lot, might be an off chance Trossard comes in for him, whereas the reason we've had Saka so far is there's no chance he gets rotated. I love Jesus as it will generally be the FHers who get him so he will be good value while Saka is more owned overall, so can go for that differential play.

To be honest yeah, getting all three is the right call and just stick a Moreno or someone at the back. Better that than worrying if you missed out on a haul.

I'm trailing by 85, 73 and 32 points respectively in my mini leagues but am the only one still holding WC and BB (some of the guys have FHs but they'll just end up fielding a team similar to mine in GW32 with that so no real gain) and I'm still reasonably positive. I think using WC correctly before GW33 I could easily make up all that ground, and BB alone should write off 20-25 points off those deficits.

My team planning has been quite good this season, I've gone behind on a select few captain decisions, it really is a game of chance more than anything.

I got up to a high of 274 overall last week but now back down to 408. I have my wildcard left and need to use it this week, very undecided how to approach it though and how to leave enough in the bank to get Haaland back.

Impressive stuff. What’s your team?

Surely you can bench him if you wildcard this week?

Probably what I'll end up doing, but just limits my wildcard for the remainder of the team:

Pope Raya
Trippier Akanji Chilwell Ake Kilman
Martinelli Maddison March Mitoma Rashford
Haaland Watkins Kane

I'll probably be ditching March, Chilwell, Mitoma, Rashford, Ake and Akanji minimum.
