Fantasy Premier League 22/23

Liverpool could be good shout. I am buying Van Dijk this week instead Shaw. Taa and Robbo always can be benched. Van Dijk will start every game.
Other Pool players i don't trust. I bought Gakpo for this GW and next and then he is off for Grealish.

Liverpool play Forest, whom on today's evidence will give a lot of chances up.
TAA, Salah and one of Nunez/Gahkpo feel like the big ceiling options.

As long as you have 3 playing subs, which would be criminal not to on a FH, it's low risk.
Andreas is 4.3m now, home to Leeds etc.

Kane & Watkins will be debates. Former is in mad form, latter an awkward away at Newcastle and eats up a lot of budget when you're trying to fit Salah and maybe TAA and others in.

Palace mid/attack option home to Everton could be worth a look too.

There is a guy doing quite well in my league whose team this week was…

Trippier 1
Botman 1
Chilwell 1

Mitoma 2
Mac Allister 2
Maddison 2
Saka 0

Haaland 12
Isak 2
Kane 2

So those that didn’t have Haaland or Watkins Captain…

I've got 8 of those and trousered 70 points!

May the templates commence!

Arsenal will be a big call. Do you go big, with say Martinelli, Jesus, Saka/Odegaard, or a bit safer with White, who is popping up with a few unexpected goals/assists himself.
Saka hasn't scored as you'd hope for a while either.
Liverpool, aim big TAA, Salah, Nunez/Gahkpo probably too.

As a Gabriel owner I'm sick to the back teeth of their defence. Been leaking ever since Saliba got injured. If I take him out though I guarantee he'll score and clean next week.

If I go triple attack from them it's got to be Saka, Martinelli and Jesus.

Hopefully one of those Liverpool attackers that isn't Salah stakes a claim for a place tomorrow night.

Just shows how 1-2 players and a captain choice can make or break the week. Some will have gone Isak/Toney over Watkins and maybe captained Kane before bringing back Haaland in 33. Crazy game.

It's a risk if they come on for a 1 pointer though

Watkins yes, Kane no. I fancy Newcastle to beat them with a clean sheet.

He won’t be keeping clean sheets as long as Holding is starting. For those enjoying White assists, I could easily see him moving to CB when Tomiyasu comes back too. One to keep an eye on.

All 5 of my defenders scored 1 point each  , my bench scored 8 points and 6 of them were Kepa’s.

64 all out

Yes, we need to be sure who of Gahkpo / Nunes starts for one thing, as Jota has complicated things.

White has been attracting the attacking gains though, and is still only 4.9m.

Holding is an outrageous step down from Saliba though, but Southampton are pony and there doesn't look a "safer" chance of a cleanie. However, you;d be fuming if you'd used an Arsenal berth on a defender and then they conceded.

In my work top 5, I was amazed to see someone didn't even have Haaland, captaining Kane. And another guy didn't have Watkins.
Thought those were absolute non brainer decisions this week.

Another guy is bloody lucky Rashy wasn't a sub, to come on for a 1 pointer, having captained him. Vice captaining Haaland. A bizarre risk to take.

So the guy that was 70 points ahead of me before the world cup is now 50 behind me thanks to heroes like Madison and Saka...

But theres this other guy who is usually shit but this month he is 3rd in the world for points gained!

He's 14 points behind me but used all his chips so I need to nail the FH next week. He will take a hit to field 11 but not the optimal 11.

If I get myself a 20 point advantage on him with the FH and I think I should win my ML. Famous last words.

It’s a dodgy week for a FH. Could work out, but could easily be a low scoring week with the teams who score big already highly owned.

Many of the games could be very cagey and cautious.

A team with the right 9 players could easily match (or beat) a FH team that week imo.

Yes, but the point is a lot of us would only be able to field 5-6 players, so it's a necessity to use it

We need to put the finest minds from the thread and @Moby together to get an absolute beast of a free hit together.

Yeah and that's why I'm banking on the Liverpool players, who my opponent will not have.

Absolutely.

Also, glad Bruno didn't do anything as I just sold him for Grealish this week.

Shit round and with no chips left my minileague lead is in danger.
Thinking about doing this
This round : Kane out for Solanke
Next Round : Saka out for March
Round after : Andreas to Salah and maybe a hit for another player.
Is it crazy to take out Kane and Saka?
Team now is :
Kepa, Raya
Gabriel, Trippier, Schär, Castagne, Mee
Saka, Martinelli, Rashford, Grealish, Andreas
Haaland, Kane, Tooney

You must have had an arse playing an absolute concerto watching how many near misses he had, and how many times he was storming through on goal only for our overly cautious wingers not to simply play him through.

The cheeks were flapping at 70mph mate.

Saka has been so shit for me recently. If I taken the -4 for Bruno I would have gained points and that is with Bruno having 0 attacking returns.

Next week will be pain. I do not love any options.

I have Saka, but he will blank and I got to keep him.

Salah probably miss another pen with Nunez scoring the goals.

Arsenal def will concede.

Jesus and Martinelli the only options I like, but I can't get Jesus since Gabriel and Saka blocks me.

We played very good today though. I think we will end up higher than Arsenal next season. Think Antony next year maybe can finally step up when we have a new forward.

Best free hit though is probably this.

Raya
TAA Trippier Robbo
Odegaard Martinelli Salah Bowen
Jesus Watkins Toney

You could have Saka in it, but if he is off pens maybe not good enough.

The Bowen spot and keeper can be any punt you like like Eze and Palace keeper, but been burned by Palace so much and do not think Roy at this age is an insane manager.

It did:lol:
But might be worth it to do Andreas to Salah before a Pool dubble? What do you think?

I think Andreas is a great facilitator at 4.3m, so probably can stay on the bench? And move someone else out. But yes Salah is critical that week.

Yeah and that's why I'm banking on the Liverpool players, who my opponent will not have.

Liverpool who have nothing to play for vs Forest fighting for their lives…

Liverpool who lost against Bournemouth a few weeks ago…

And then you have to choose 3 from Salah, Darwin, Gakpo, Jota, Trent, Robbo, VVD…

Your free hit will depend on Liverpool thrashing Forest AND you picking the right Liverpool players.

Any other season recently, the double Liverpool full backs would be a definite. But they look so pony defensively, so maybe one is enough, and you go another attacker?

But it's a decent first draft.
Saka is a real conundrum. He can 15 point it on his day, but he's been off it recently. But then Southampton could get utterly pumped, and imagine overlooking Arsenal's top man.

At Anfield is the key thing. Different story entirely to their aways.

Liverpool could win big, but I would avoid Darwin that guy has been so annoying. I sold him when they played us and he scores every bloody chance.

Of course all of that is true... But I either play my FH and try find a way to race clear or roll into the week with 5 players

Also... Anfield

That is why go 3 attackers and hope they return, but it probably ends 0-0 then.

TAA and Robbo are very attacking and so on a free hit when you do not got to keep them I think they are fine.

Kane and Solanke deserves to be in the team so maybe you go one Arsenal defender like White and add one of them?

The only thing with an Arsenal defender is you'd fear wasting an attacking berth if they did concede.
And White has just that slight risk of being rotated, whereas Gabriel has no chance. Although Holding instead of Saliba makes the whole package a bit less appealing.

Jesus is hardly king goals either, but is a good option, but then we get back to the can you risk taking Saka out, home to Southampton.

I dare say we have a relentless week ahead of smashing through this in great and tedious depth

Maybe set something ready early week though, as that Friday deadline will catch some out.

Well my opinion from the start was that Jesus and Saka were the 2 best options. With Saka on pens I always thought that particular with his England performances, but recently Martinelli has been much better though.

For draft I picked Saka ahead of Martinelli and it has not been a good decision even if they all done well.

I could have even got Martinelli over Sterling, but picked Sterling.

Captain sensible says to spread the risk in defence. Pick the 3 best attacking defenders from the 3 teams most likely to keep clean sheets. TAA, Trippier, White?

Maybe pick Johnstone in goal again to spread the risk and also because Palace look solid under Woy.

Then go with it for the attack. Watkins is on fire so you have to keep. Dodge Newcastle as you don't know who's gonna start and Kane because you've got Trippier. Solanke hauled and Bournemouth at home need to win. He's in. 3rd attacker could be Darwin or hear me out...Iheanacho. Scored and Leicester looked better when he came on. Tends to go on a run at the end of the season. Amazing differential. Other boring pick is Jesus.

Midfield. Martinelli is in because you took him out weeks ago and he's been dry humping you ever since. Salah is in and probably captain. If you have space left for an Arsenal player and avoided the defence and/or Jesus it has to be Saka. Classic fpl for him to punish you on the free hit team you take him out for. Other spots for midfield I like Willian, Maddison (same as the Saka principle), Jota/Gakpo if you can guess correctly who starts and either of Eze/Olise.

I can be on board with a Watkins Jesus Nacho front three.

Gabriel, Trippier, Schär, Castagne, Mee
Saka, Martinelli, Rashford, Grealish, Andreas
Haaland, Kane, Tooney

That would leave you playing a 5-3-2 with Castagne, Mee, Andreas all playing. If I were you I would do Kane/Rashford to Salah/Solanke for the hit and sticking the captaincy on Salah.

You can worry about getting Rashford back in if he is going to be fit for 34. It gives you a good 4-4-2 and captaincy option. I would be much more confident going into this week.

Very early look at my league leader, who will probs be 35-40 ahead after Salah tomorrow.

He has the below, and just a FH left. He could use it this week, but maybe he'll take Chilwell out, then has a full 11?

Raya
Trippier Chilwell SHAW Botman Mee
SALAH, Saka, Martinelli, GREALISH, MITOMA
HAALAND Watkins Toney

He has no wildcard, so hopefully he does freehit this week, as week 34 he'd be a bit exposed as he can't cover a huge amount with only 2 freebies.

If he's good, he won't FH. He can easily navigate GW32 as he already had the big hitters?

Feel like I have been mugged to only get 3pts from Saka n Bruno today.

FPL can be so so cruel.

Still at 46k but would expect that to drop tomorrow if Salah bangs.
