Fantasy Premier League 22/23

I'm ranked just under 148,000th. Is that good? Feels like that's the highest I've ever been.

70 points with 25 games left  . Damn man, one bad week for him/good for you and that is it.
Nah we think very similar and he's a good player. I mean it's technically possible of course but in reality, it will take a major feck up from him... which can happen but I keep fecking up too

Only troll lord Wilson can save you now.

Still can't believe I owned him for his highest ever FPL haul. feck winning FPL, this is it.
Just saying that most of the historically good FPL players all doing shit and the shit ones are doing well... it's the upside down.

Yeah, seems that way at times. There hasn't been a set template for most of the season so that's good in a way and those who ended up owning the right budget options at the right times got the reward. But like I said, still so many 50-50 calls and small mistakes being punished with big swings. So while there's a bit of gap in rank, the points gap can still be covered I think. At least it's a lot more fun even if you end up on the wrong side (as I've been a few times with the Darwin sending off and what not). Better than everyone having same 10/11 players etc.

Having said that, not captaining Haaland in the last few GWs was pretty suicidal.

I was just messing mate. But yeah, after the break, I'm gonna have to play it differently to gain the point with the possibility I fall even further behind. For example I might get in Son, Robertson and Mount and hope those three can pick up form...

It's a long old season mate...lots of chips already burnt and the post WC/festive period could be telling.

One of my mates who was in the top 100k OR last season is just above me at c.1.2M OR this.

Still expect to see us both in the top 500k by the end though!

I will be bringing in Robertson on the WC wildcard. Think he looked excellent against Leeds. Created loads.

Same boat here. Having to climb up and that's true you can get burnt but that's what the game is. Gotta pray for some luck to finally fall our way after a point. But players form will obviously change and it's all about who to bet against.

Really good. I'm still just outside the top 1m. Probably my worst season ever at the moment. Still think I'll make up some decent ground with clever chip usage though. And I need some more of those Toney & Wilson moments from the last few weeks.

Their defense has gone to the dogs though. That first goal they concluded vs Leeds. Couldn't stop laughing.

I mean it has but they'll still end up with more clean sheets than most teams. And with Robertson he's one of those you're mainly getting for attacking returns and bps. Ideally I like all my defenders to be like that. Trippier, Cancelo, Dalot, Robertson and an Arsenal defender will probably see you sorted for the season.

Yeah I agree. Need high ceiling picks. I was tossing up Guehi and Castagne a couple of weeks ago and went Guehi as the safer option but Castagne hauled big anyway. Don't know about Liverpool CS though. They have allowed some shite attacks to score vs them. Gomez also seems to be a liability and Fabinho is having a crap season. More optimistic about their attack tbf.

Yeah Castagne has been good to me the last few weeks. Think the big decision on the wildcard will be which premium with Haaland. Got to be either Kane or KDB right?

Haven't really looked at the fixtures past the WC honestly, will be interesting on how that WC template forms given how players do at the WC. Both Salah and Haaland will be resting, which kinda makes them the go to options. I liked owning Kane earlier but Spurs have looked hopeless at times. Having a quick look Liverpool seem to have pretty good fixtures after the WC as well.

Do we all fall into the Salah trap again though? He was shocking against Forest and although he did return against Leeds, still not playing like a £12m player that you will Captain often...

It will be sods law that after holding him for so long he starts hitting form when I drop him. I think as people suspected Nunez is a big problem for Liverpool. If Diaz and Jota are back and he's benched Salah does become more enticing.

Ended up on 69(-4) after Saliba and Gross got substituted in for Haaland and Antony. Captain Kane ruined this GW.

After a streak of red arrows ended up with a very small green arrow but I'm still in 3m OR so it doesn't really matter.

Interesting. Like I said, I'm just outside the top 1m and on 789 so it's obviously quite tight this year. Big swings can happen in a single game week (and they will if Haaland misses many more games).

Yeah it's basically everyone having Haaland and the rest of the hidden gem type players making up the difference.

Their team has been a bit shite overall, and the formation changes have mattered a lot so it will change as per that. As per the current diamond Salah is playing up front and going to get decent amount of chances. If Darwin had a brain and knew how to pass Salah would have had an open goal to add to the one he scored vs Leeds. But ya, need to monitor them but with the lack of options, he could still be the one as long as the fixtures look good. Salah himself has looked quite good physically and should benefit from not playing in the WC as well.

It's interesting as some Liverpool fans think Darwin being on the pitch is good for other attackers because as bad as he can be, you cannot leave him alone and he attracts a lot of defenders, leaving space for others. If they keep playing the two of them up front it could be interesting.

Inside the top 2% so it's a very solid start,

3 GW ago I was 78k 3 red arrows later I'm a310k, so many players are over 20% owend that keep killing my rank.

 I don't know how they can come to that conclusion. From watching them it's often resulted in Salah being pushed to the touchline and even against Leeds if he could finish, Salah gets an assist to go with his goal and likely max bonus points.

I think it's regarding the current diamond formation where they have two up top. The one with Salah out wide was crap for sure. In this one they have played Darwin and Salah up top with Firmino as #10, and it has resulted in better link up between the front two and also Salah being closer to goal. But that's the issue, they keep on changing the setup and it's risky investing 13m in someone who we can't be sure about. KDB surely the safer bet in that regard.

Considering binning Zaha but know he will haul as soon as I do.

I think I'm done with it this year. Looked at my league. 70 points behind the rival and he's not shit so doubt I'll catch up.
If he's really good, that might be hard to catch up but definitely not impossible.

I think the more important thing is if the game isn't any fun for you. If so (and you know if it is/isn't and to what degree), that's more of a reason to leave it.

So who's the biggest differentials/best players for the last 2 GW's before we can all make unlimited transfers?

Calvert Lewin? Trossard?

Nah I still love it haha. Masochistic I guess.

I meant I'm done trying to catch him. Gonna just go hail Mary picks from here on out as analysis isn't working.
