I think getting rid of Salah is madness too
Just took Salah out too. My main-concern was that he's now playing a bit more of second-fiddle. In the old times it was Firmino and a bit of Mane who played for the main-man Salah. Now Salah has to adjust to Darwin. He'll haul eventually, but not as much as before I think.
Might bring him in later again, but KdB has way better fixtures. I just downgraded Salah to Diaz+brought in KdB.
Fair enough, but I’ll ask you two questions…
1. How often are you gonna captain him if Haaland is fit?
2. How many braces or hat tricks do you see him scoring this season?
A 13million player (the most expensive in the game) MUST offer huge hauls, and imo, in this new Liverpool side, Salah doesn’t.
He isn’t the goal scorer anymore, and Luis Diaz looks far more likely to haul in literally every game.
The issue isn’t necessarily his points … he’s third for midfielders, fourth in all players and above all of the other premium midfielders.
The issue is (1) the other midfielders with similar scores are literally half his price and (2) a lot of play goes down Liverpool’s left side (tw@t/Diaz) and (3) watched last two games (most of them) and he seems to be playing very wide.
Add all that together and it’s hard not to think that £13m could be better used elsewhere.
Then he scores six in the next three games

I just need more data to drop him, especially when his "bad form" has him the third highest scoring midfielder. He's been outperforming his xG for five seasons now, so it's unlikely to drop off majorly.
Captaining him this week I think, Everton are shite and always bend over in the derby (which are usually high scoring too).

His stats are the the same as last year when you look over the 4 games and he's also on pens.

KDB - decent but do you want two premiums from the same team? His numbers are also nowhere as good as Salah.
Kane - Decent but I rather have a MF premium who gets clean sheet points and extra point for goal.
Haaland - everyone has him.
The alternative is to spread the cash but then it leaves you inflexible if you want another premium later and also limits your captaincy choices when City are playing Liverpool for example.

I have both but I don't buy this argument. It's too early in the season for Salah to be streets ahead of Diaz and it's worth remembering that 'looking more likely to haul' doesn't translate into FF points. If he starts actually hauling then fair enough but until then you can only really go on the data, imo. I think you write Salah off as an asset at your peril, tbh. You could well turn out to be right, but I certainly don't think that getting rid is a no brainer at this stage.

A fairly mute point...Liverpool have had almost all their attacking success in recent seasons from their wide players.
I can't recall too many assists/chances created from Mssrs Fabinho and Henderson in recent seasons?
I need to get Rodrigo replacement and I only have 2 Arsenal players so I’m still considering Odegaard, yet the injury plus United fixture don’t allure me. Might as well buy Gross.
It isn't just assists, they need Thiago to be able to progress the ball quickly enough before the opposition gets back into shape. Right now with Thiago out, and Trent out of form going forward as well, their creativity from midfield is pretty low. Salah has also looked very sluggish with his touch and control, but they never played with a plan of just giving random passes to Mo and him going alone.
In the same spot as you. Just bought in Rodrigo for Neto last week and he got injured and I had 3 Arsenal players right from the start and now don't feel comfortable with United coming up. Gross or Zaha or Bilva look like excellent choices but no clue if Bilva will play.
Bit hard to take anything from the data at this point. Darwin has barely played, small sample size of games and within that small sample size you have one massive outlier result against Bournemouth.
He's had 5 goal contributions in 5 games this season. That's a better average than in all his seasons for Liverpool bar the 17/18-season. People are just freaked out because he managed the incredible feat of not getting any contributions in that Bournemouth slaughter and his numbers being dwarfed by Haaland. He'll probably end up on between 230 and 300 points this season asa well and will be the 2nd or 3rd most productive player in the league depending on Kane. Feel free to gamble all you want with alternatives. The budgetalternatives will probably slow down soon though. With the extra wildcard it's possible to gamble a bit more, but I think most people not sitting on Salah will regret it in the end. Exactly. The output is fine even if this season it is looking more flukey as compared to last season when he was on fire. But in FPL you don't care about how it comes. If he gets 10 points from a 0 xG game, I don't really care although that obviously plays on people's minds when predicting the next set of games. Also his slump in the second half of last season and how those who jumped on Kev or Son ended up winning massively is a factor, and again that's not happening. If Son was firing and playing Fulham at home this GW, people would jump.
However the biggest difference is now he is not the permacap which he pretty much was the whole of last season. There's gonna be rarely a GW where you won't captain Haaland if he's fit, and that's what it comes down to.
There's also a mid point bracket of Sterling, Darwin and possibly Bruno who can raise their hand up and cause reason for releasing Salah funds. I'm in the same boat as @Dirty Schwein , I think we have decent reasons to look into hopping off Mo but still a bit soon and it won't take much for a player like him to gain form. But if I am WCing in a couple of GWs and it's still not looking better then there will be a definite case to not pay the highest premium for a non-captainable underperformer.
My biggest worry isn't Salah but the rest of their team which is looking very dodgy. Midfield is light and crocked, defense has been leaky, the fullbacks aren't doing anything either. Take the 9-0 slaughter out and that's been a shite season so far.
Keep Bilva, or bring in GroB, or someone else? Can go up to 7.1m
