Is Cavani unlikely to play start of season? I was going to go with him and Kane.
This was first draft. Trying to pick a 15 (not an 11) for the first 5+ weeks. Looked at FDR as well. The thing is a lot of players might not start GW1/2 so I basically made this team based on first few fixtures.. but once I know more about who starting I’ll probably make some changes.
As for TAA he’s looking really expensive to me too so I might swap him with Reece James maybe. Gives me more funds to invest in a striker or bench. But Salah and Bruno are a must cuz they take penalties too and their value will only go higher as the season progresses so it’s key to have them from the get go.
I wanted to bring in Greenwood cuz I know he’ll probably start as striker and cavani will probably start after gw2 but they made Greenwood a midfielder which sucks so I either sacrifice one of my two main strikers or wait to bring in Cavani.
What’s your team looking like?
I’m missing something obviously. How do you swap Son (£10m) for one of your cheap midfielders?I have so far settled on:
Sanchez Foster
TAA Shaw Digne Coufal Reguilon
Salah Sancho Buendia Trossard Harrison
Iheanacho Watkins Toney
Deep team and I am inclined to downgrade somewhere to improve elsewhere, and I still have 0.5m in the bank. Was thinking about switching Sanchez, Toney and Iheanacho to Ederson, DCL and Obafemi (as a fodder).
I was considering Son for one of my 6.0-6.5m midfielder but I think I will let them ride. I think all of Buendia, Trossard and Harrison will be very good this year.
Ederson is super tempting to me because I always mess around with my goalkeepers too much and it ends up costing me points. With him you are basically fine to keep him for every game without exception.

By significantly downgrading someone else, of course. Likely 2-3 players. Or I could just do Iheanacho or Watkins + Trossard to £4.5m fodder forward and Son.I’m missing something obviously. How do you swap Son (£10m) for one of your cheap midfielders?
It will be very difficult to manage indeed. That is why I am tempted to at least get rid of Toney or Iheanacho and go with some crap cheap striker and Ederson. Would at least give me less headache upfront. Defence I think I will be keen to spend on as I feel a lot of them are quite underpriced: Shaw, Digne and Reguilon have great potential.I really like that def. I feel your squad is a bit too tricky to manage. Too many players at the same level in terms of quality. My friend had that last year and he benched Watkins against Liverpool, Arsenal and Bowen with a huge haul as well. He played Watkins for the pen miss though.
That’s Salah or Sancho then?By significantly downgrading someone else, of course. Likely 2-3 players. Or I could just do Iheanacho or Watkins + Trossard to £4.5m fodder forward and Son.
That’s Salah or Sancho then?
Gotcha.Neither of them for sure. Buendia/Trossard are upgradable to Son if I drop one of £7.5m forward. I got £0.5m in the bank.
Indeed my team is probably too deep now. I’d ideally want to have at least one player with whom I’d be certain I want to leave him on the bench virtually every week, and that should be a forward as it’s a position where you have to spend the most to from fodder to someone reasonable I think (£4.5m to £6.0m Pukki/Welbeck whereas there are some midfielders at £5.0m - £5.5m who can get you points, and some good defenders at £4.5m).Gotcha.
So it's Son + shit Vs Buendia + an ok forward?
If comfortable rest of squad means you can play a decent XI, I'd go Son. I'm trying to get a balanced 15 but at the end of the day, only 11 play (and you've got subs)?
I’m thinking Sancho might be a bit risky to start off with as Ole could slowly introduce him to the team. What you all think?

My first draft (below) was to try and have mainly players who played and allow me to rotate without too many subs…Indeed my team is probably too deep now. I have tried going another direction for now:
Ederson
TAA Shaw Digne Reguilon Coufal
Salah Sancho Buendia Trossard Harrison
DCL Watkins (Obafemi)
Yeah guess you’re right. Just been burned so many times before by starting off with players who have just joined a club and them only getting a couple of minutes, so afraid to take the plunge! Not with Rashford injured. He'll start from the off unless he gets injured
He should be fresh, Rashy injured, doesn't need to acclimatise to the country, already played with a host of players in the team etc.Yeah guess you’re right. Just been burned so many times before by starting off with players who have just joined a club and them only getting a couple of minutes, so afraid to take the plunge!
If they’re foreign, I could see that but UK is home and knows Shaw (useful if playing LW)Yeah guess you’re right. Just been burned so many times before by starting off with players who have just joined a club and them only getting a couple of minutes, so afraid to take the plunge!
I think he will play from the start with Rashford injured and I expect him to have relatively ownership which means it’s high risk high reward. I did the same with Bruno when he came to United and was priced £8.0m and he won me my mini league at the time.I’m thinking Sancho might be a bit risky to start off with as Ole could slowly introduce him to the team. What you all think?
PROS :
Managed to fit in the big guns in midfield.
Question is should I downgrade Grealish to Soucek and use that 2m to upgrade Digne/Shaw to Trent?
Will Grealish + Shaw outscore Soucek + Trent over the course of the season ?
or I can downgrade Sancho to Soucek to upgrade to Trent in defense and DCL in attack. Again will Sancho + Shaw + Toney outscore Soucek + Trent + DCL?
I have 4 penalty takers and 3 freekick/corner takers in my first XI.
Are three players from Man Utd overkill?
If you make one key adjustment (lose Sancho, take a MF fodder), you can get a more balanced squad AND have TAA.

Probably change to City goalie.
Maybe downgrade Cavani (would he start every game?), Stones (tough start to the season; how many clean sheets are you expecting?) and maybe Martinez (3 easy games, but next 3 are really tough)Think I have a pretty good team but the bench is awful. Any ideas?
Martinez
Shaw Stones TAA Ayling
Bruno Salah Grealish Dallas
Cavani DCL
Virginia K.Davis Romeu Manquillo

To be fair, I find subs to often go unused completely until the fixtures start piling up around Christmas. I might just go for it. I'll have wildcarded by then anyway. If you have three top players, something has to give.
You have Salah, Bruno and TAA plus two ok forwards… hence the rest is tough.
if what those three, i posted a potential team with them in a few posts up. Maybe play around with yours and that… find a compromise you’re ok with
PS. If those 11 play most weeks and do well, maybe it’s worth it, all depends if you go all in with a good 11 or a balanced squad. No obvious right or wrong answer but the balanced one gives you options if something happens… which it will
Cheers, will consider this though if I don't just go for it.Maybe downgrade Cavani (would he start every game?), Stones (tough start to the season; how many clean sheets are you expecting?) and maybe Martinez (3 easy games, but next 3 are really tough)
Exactly and that may be the way to go. Loads will go balanced and the top players (which they couldn’t afford all of) kill it.. you’re laughing? To be fair, I find subs to often go unused completely until the fixtures start piling up around Christmas. I might just go for it. I'll have wildcarded by then anyway.
I think you’re underestimating my attack. Literally all 7 of them can score and assist especially with penalties involved.PROS :
That’s some midfield?!
Defence is ok (as long as those three are playing)
CONS :
Attack is 6/10 (maybe 7)
Subs are dross so when your first XI is out of form, injured, not playing, you’ve got nothing to bring in
(3 United players is fine as we’re going to win the league and score bucket loads)
(Ps. Sounds like you want Trent)
Not sure if Ian Nacho was a one off and promoted players can be great (for the price) or die. But sounds like you've got it sortedI think you’re underestimating my attack. Literally all 7 of them can score and assist especially with penalties involved.
Regarding subs I don’t like a 6-7m player sitting on the bench. A 5.5m mid isn’t going to do much even when brought on. Same with the 5.5m and 6m forwards.
All my players are guaranteed starters and kinda set and forget players unless there is an injury.
P.S. I really do want Trent haha.

Sierralta is a starter for Watford. He did very well last year as a wing back. Him or Aarons is going to be my backup defender and they are both nailed on to start. Sancho I want to keep until we get Rashford and then I downgrade him to get a better striker. Are there any information on the cheapest bench fodder that will play or starting? (4.0m GK & DEF or 4.5m MID & FWD)
I think that's a lot of playing 4.5 MID, but hoping to get someone like Brewster or Mitchell from last year who play a lot of game
What a midfield that is
I think the only problem from that team is how nailed your sub to make an appearance and get 2 points
Bachmann should be the starting GK for Watford right? Why don't use Sanchez / Steele combo because than you should always have playing GK from Brighton
BTW, how does the kit design seems so HD in your screenshot?
