Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

Id go for Wissa over Wood or Watkins myself and have enough money to get a third Liverpool player from gw30 onwards. Also make sure there’s an easy way to bring in Gordon in about 5-6 gameweeks as newcastle double.

Thanks for the heads up - still left with 1.8m from this in the bank and was thinking of taking a free hit for the double gameweeks coming up

Now I'm tempted to go Emery to Glasner. Palace apparently haven't lost away from home since GW8, have the best defense away from home with only 11 conceded, and haven't lost at Fulham since 2005.

Someone talk me out of it
How's anyone gonna manage that when they're too busy being talked into it?!

I like Howe for the AM 30-33. He's got Brentford, Palace, and us at home, with Leicester away. But I'm guessing if I wildcard in 30 I can't then use the other chip that same week..

Maybe I should do Glasner now instead

Yeah I'm happy I activated it and will have it out of the way once I want to use WC, FH, BB later on in the DGWs.

That run for Howe seems nice but no game with table points bonuses. Even with three wins out of that you might end up with 20-25 points, a nice bonus points haul like Hurzeler or Silva gets you 20 points for one game... So I want to aim for high upside with that chip, but depends on situation of course.

Wissa is massively out of form - he has 2 returns in the last 11.

I’d keep Watkins for this week then change him to Cunha next game week
From watching the games, he’s on the end of a lot of chances. This could also regress to the mean, meaning he’ll score soon. Leaky opponents up next.

Not sure Chelsea will roll over at Villa Park. Aston Villa’s not creating heaps of chances this season imo neither. Could just be a semi-boring 1-1 match and Watkins fixtures are dross after that. What’s the point of wildcarding to a player for 1 meh gw then using a transfer straight afterwards?

I'm currently on

Sels
Robinson - Huijsen - Timber
Palmer - Kluivert - Elanga - J Murphy - Salah (C)
Isak - Wissa
Bench: Fabianzki - Trent Arnold - L. Hall - Ndiaye

I have 2 ft and 2,8m in bank
I have Slot as AM for last round and don't think it's worth a hit to change, obviously when I WC later I'll get rid of Fabianzki.

I also need to get rid of Ndiaye
But a part of me wants to get Omar from city instead of Palmer, nobody talking about him after his hattrick in debut? But might be better to wait until after Liverpool game? Also is keeping Murphy smart?
Also is benching Trent stupid? Hard to get the right defense on, all my starters have home games but I think I need to get rid of Hall as well.

I could change Wissa to Watkins and have practicality nothing left in the bank.

I'm rambling now, I just don't know what to do while trying to plan ahead for Blank as well, I got BB, FH and WC left

I'm trailing my league with 10 points so need to do something clever that hopefully pays off as my opponent has similar team but some differences, he has Wood and Mateta and Collins and Guehi as main difference

Omar (Marmoush) is a forward not a midfielder so the obvious transfer if you really want him in is to swap Ndiaye out for him. Don't remove Wissa. I'd bench Murphy or Elanga personally if you bring in another attacker for Ndiaye.

Just my two cents:

- Don't get Marmoush, City have Liverpool up next, then at Spurs where they generally struggle and then at Forest who are very good defensively. Teams will be focused more on him (instead of solely on Haaland) as well after his hattrick.
- Don't get rid of Palmer, home games against Soton and Leicester coming up
- Benching TAA is meh, I've done the same though, he's more likely to get an attacking return than a CS at City imo
- Don't get Watkins, espeically not for Wissa who has a better fixture this weekend and Watkins blanks in GW29
- I'd play it safe with only a 10 point gap, and focus on BB, WC, FH in order to make a difference rather than gunning for the differential now and potentially losing ground on your opponents. If you really want an upside play this weekend I'd rather go for Glasner and the table bonus points than an outfield player (especially since Slot has City away).

Would like people's input on how best to use my chips.
I'm in a very competitive work league (head to head) with a lot of bragging rights on offer. I have to finish in the top 4 to make the semi-finals which will be during GW 37 with the final in GW 38 of course. I'm quite confident of making the top 4 so I want to see what's the best use of my chips. I have all still available (Wildcard, Free-Hit, Bench Boost, Triple Captain and Assistant Manager)
I am struggling to find the best use of these chips though. The assistant manager chip has thrown a spanner in the works. I was thinking that I activate it for GW 36 meaning I have it for 36, 37 and 38 as it seems to bring in big points but it does limit you as well. Obviously, you cant use any other chips in this period and it means that my team will have to be quite settled in those last gameweeks as I can't use a free-hit or wildcard if I feel I need to strengthen in more than one area.
I think the free-hit would be useful for one of the double gameweeks coming up or even the week where a number of teams are not playing. I'm currently a point off 4th place so I still have a bit to do but a good few around me have used a number of their chips already which gives me a bit of an advantage. Up until this year, I would have saved a bench boost or triple captain for the final if I made it but now I'm not sure how to play it.
I was thinking that I could maybe play the wildcard for GW 35 to set my team up as best I can to then bring in the assistant manager of my choosing in GW 36.
Any opinions?

I've just done it and some of my recent decisions have turned to shite

Still not sure what to do here haha
Maybe I'll take a chance on glasner and get Watkins anyway for Ndiaye

If you look at some of the decent FPL accounts on Twitter, you get a lot of permutations explained. Might help you choose one or at least, which ones NOT to do.

Well I didn't miss the deadline this week which is better than last week, but I only realised we had a game tonight 9 minutes before the deadline and haven't looked at this at all lately. Feel so out of the loop.

Last second panic transfers:
Sanchez > Flekken
Gordon > Bruno (must be mad, partly a week 29 thing and getting in early for Gordon's blank)
Jackson > Cunha

That burned my 3 transfers which meant I've kept Slot as AM. Would have punted on Glasner if I was changing.

Flekken
Gabriel Timber Hall
Salah(c) Palmer Mbeumo Bruno
Isak Cunha Wissa

Fabianski Rogers Konate Greaves

Can't say I'm confident, good luck all!

Edit: Guess that all means I'm pretty much tied into Salah, Konate and Isak out for transfers on or before 29. Hall will have to stay on my bench in 29 itself for his blank, WC in 30. That's unless I want to take a -4 of course.

Mbeumo doing the business in the early kickoff is lovely to see. If Flekken can keep a clean sheet here too it will be a cracking start to the weekend.

Yep, pleased to finally get one of his hauls.

Just a shame I didn't dare risk captaining him!

Made a similar "safe" choice for assistant manager too, and no other transfer... probably a bit safe, but we're off to a dece start.

Slot to Ruud - the greatest boom or "BUST" pick I've ever done.

I had some stellar weeks too. Liverpool winning guaranteed.

Brought Mbuemo in to captain. Will savour the next 48 hours of differential gains until Salah somehow matches or outscores him v City anyway with the inevitable penalty thrown in

Wish I had your balls. You need those picks to win it in all fairness but I only usually go hail mary with nothing to lose in the last few weeks.

I'm in a similar sort of position in all my mini leagues where I just need to do something a wee bit different to claw back a bit of ground, and the sooner the better. May aswell try and have a bit of fun when Salah is away to City although it's probably not the most difficult game for him the way City have been defending.
