Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

So, is anyone going for the manager WC? Thinking about taking a punt on Amorim with SOU, BHA & FUL as our next 3 matches (3 winnable fixtures, not a given with how our season's gone so far). If not, when do you suggest I use this WC? have 1,9 ITB.

Edit: it is only available GW 24 onwards!

40 mins: That was surely a foul, and Jesus injured himself doing it. After a bit of treatment he’s taken off on a stretcher, and Raheem Sterling replaces him.

^that's all the BBC have to say about it.

Right, i'll need to dip into my 3 freebies then to sort Jesus out, as he'll be out a bit.
Already have 1.7m in the bank.

Who we bringing in? And anything else need doing?

Sanchez (Fabianski)
Gab TAA Hall (Castagne, Mykolenko)
Salah, Palmer, Diaz, Amad, Rogers
Isak Wood (Jesus)

Yep.
Anyone with him must be fuming, holding him for that game.
Couldn't be me...

:boring:

And Jesus also out long-term. Already had a look yesterday evening (and happy he didn't fall in price) but there doesn't seem to be a standout replacement, also given Joao Pedro's ankle injury situation. Perhaps Hojlund worth a punt?

That Jesus injury might be a blessing in disguise for owners, Arsenal have looked really flat going forward since the Saka injury, i wouldn't be buying any of their attackers with the way they are playing.

I might stall on a Jesus transfer until after tomorrow's deadline. It resolves the awkwardness of who to bench out of the front 8 and can now play Amad and Rogers.

Then 4 transfers for next game week for some jiggery pokery

Yeah I'm playing my 3 cheap mids as well (Enzo, Amad, Rogers). Will lose the £0.1m profit on him but not worth a -4 this week when 2 of the replacement candidates I'm looking at (Wood and Gakpo) are playing each other.

Could have done without the Timber injury doubt.

Not going to replace him for a -4 at this stage. If it was a couple of weeks later I might've even for a hit, switching to Konate to get Liverpool players in as we head towards the likely double GW for them. With Forest and Brentford both away next two that doesn't seem worth it at all.

Sanchez
Gabriel Timber Hall
Salah Palmer Mbeumo Gordon Rogers
Jackson Isak

Fabianski Solanke Greaves Lewis

Benching Solanke for this one, think I prefer Greaves over Lewis for first defender on the bench. Captaincy undecided yet.

Seeing Rogers had Everton made my decision.
As all of Rogers, Amad and Wood have spanked me recently on the bench.
Even with Wood facing Liverpool I won't take the risk he hauls on the bench.

Wildcarded to the following. Would love some thoughts:

Verbruggen (Stolarczyk)
Livramento Robinson De Ligt (Castagne, Hill)
Amad Palmer Salah Rogers (Bergvall)
Isak Pedro Haaland

Unsure who I can replace Pedro with given limited funds and an already cheap defence...

Surely you want more Liverpool/Everton coverage with the double just announced?

Is it the usual trap where we bring in players from a crap team just because they have a double?
DCL for instance.

If I was on a wildcard I'd probably take a punt at doubling on that Everton defence for the home fixtures but yeah remains to be seen if they're more leaky post Dyche.

As it is I've only got 3 FT's between now and then so my targets will probably be Gakpo, Konate and Mykolenko to add to Salah.

Ah I assumed many would have 3 Liverpool already. But probably shouldn't as I did my first wildcard very late, so have 3 and Mykolenko.
That probably feels enough unless Everton show they have even the vaguest attacking threat before then.

So for those of us who have already used up their triple captain, using the assistant manager chip on Slot is a must I assume?

For the double gameweek with Everton? It's one possibility. Seen some stuff on youtube with different strategies, going to save mine until later. Slot is your safer-looking use now plan for sure, but I like the idea of switching managers around/targeting the big bonus points personally.

One advantage of waiting until later is that your squad should be worth more by then, easier to sacrifice the funds. Disadvantage is that you can't just focus solely on players in wildcard if leaving it until later.

With each of the plans just omit the TC chip if already used. These from FPL Harry, Let's talk FPL and FPL Scoutcast. 1a is what I'm thinking from the first of these, maybe 3a as it allows the assistant manager chip to be played 35-37 as well as the 36-38 highlighted below depending on which fixtures seem best and will include double GW for 36 either way. Think I like that flexibility more actually. Don't want to leave my wildcard until 35 as mentioned in some of these. Seems like I wouldn't get much benefit out of it at that point.

GW 29 important to the way I want to play it, need to transfer out Carabao Cup finalist players and their opponents if not free hitting that week and I'm on triple Newcastle so not the best starting place with them 2-0 up from the first leg! Guess I could leave one on the bench, sure to blank before the wc in 30.

Thanks for that, excellent overview and a reminder to look at the bigger picture.

I am still clueless about who to replace Jesus with. Does Hojlund 100% start at home vs Soton? No other options seem to convice me, especially considering Joao Pedro might be injured.
