Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

I have persisted with Sels through Forest's terrible run, because other fires to tend to (4 blanks, 1 6ptr game). My backup keeper is a 0 pointer guy.
He still is 2nd in the GK standing. Should I change him or roll?

Meh. Stick with him unless you've got a transfer to burn.

A goalie is for life, not just for Xmas.

Which translates so "Gabriel just had an operation and will be out for the season".
Was gonna say..
"Arteta confirms" - I really don't know what to do with that. Has he sent Gabriel on a mission to Mars? Is Gabriel retiring? Has he been fitted with springy bionic ankles that make him a must-have due to an improvement on his already well-equipped leap?

Arteta and Howe straight up lie and that shouldn't be allowed.

I remember last season Howe said Gordon will miss a match due to an injury and then I took him out. Gordon started and got a double digit haul.

Howe still does that. Isak put up a post saying he was not injured
Howe said he hasn't seen Isak in training yet, so he cant confirm.

Isak started and had a goal and assist against Pool.

Someone told me that the septics have literally made it illegal in their FPL. I don't think it should be that far, as there's bound to be an element of skill involved in correctly second guessing managers, but it's still fecking annoying.

Bossmen, what am I doing with this?

Sanchez
Saliba Hall Ait Nouri
Palmer Salah (cap) Rogers ESR v Amad
Haaland, Wood, Cunha

Hendo, Maz, Barco

Do I carry on with this?

Or do I take Haaland out, to allow a wildcard to bring in

Isak
Saka
Enzo
Timber
Fabianksi as 2nd keeper

And shunt out
Haaland, Amad, ESR, Hendo Bartolo (finally!)

Could ship Rogers instead of Amad if money doesn't quite work

Risk of Haaland out worth it for the potential Isak, Saka, Timber and Enzo gains?
I thought "bossmen" would auto tag you all in, but as it didn't...
@Cutch @BeforeKeanetherewasRobson @Amir @Dirty Schwein @CassiusClaymore

Keep Saliba or move to Gab? 2 goals in a row for Sabbers.
Does Saliba only onion bag when Gabbers isn't in town?

Although the first goal someone knocked the ball and it hit his ass and went in from 2 yards out, no thanks to him!

I like your team. Assuming you're already in a good position, I reckon you can steal a march on everyone by wildcarding on GW18, when you've got City home to Leicester, Arsenal home to Ipswich, and Chelsea home to Fulham. Instant returns more or less guaranteed then work your way from there. Triple the lot and work your way from there is what my plan would be if I still had a wildcard.

Then the WC resets so it's back there if you need it, but given Chelsea will still have a few good fixtures and the others are stable, you'll probably not be needing anything but the off transfer to sort things from there. I wish I still had my chip!

Your team doesn't need much tbh. You'll be playing WC soon right? Haaland to Isak could be good.

I would personally save the WC until the last moment, it's a big advantage. You just need to hope Saka doesn't do too much damage.

Maybe Isak this week and Saka next?

ESR and Amad... Amad for me. ESR tends to be benched or subbed early, especially in bigger games. Amad can do damage if he plays.

Good thinking bossmen.
Will consider between leaving alone and Haaland to Isak.

Though my experience of bringing Isak in for easy game is that bum Wilson steals his points or he comes off injured about 3mins in.
And I'm still traumatised by that Isak v Wilson 5050 2 seasons ago where Wilson outscored him by about 50 points over 2 games. Though he's probably injured I expect

Saka, Palmer, Salah, Enzo, McNeil
Wood, Cunha, Jackson

Have 1FT.

Have the money to go Cunha to Isak, but the Ipswich fixture is stopping me from doing that. Wood seems to be a hold at least till GW25, because he keeps getting the points.

Other option is to get rid of McNeil, but I have benched him for now and anyone who I am gonna bring in would need to go into the XI, but I am not sure who else to bench.

Have you seen Haaland's record against us?

Look I might not be right at all here, it's my first time taking this shit seriously. But surely you don't take out a player who has the bottom 3 next? I personally like your lot and would keep. Save those transfers for a little, we'll all need them soon.

Wilson out for 8 weeks.

But Haaland can turn it on any week, that's the risk you have to be willing to take.

I did it last week and he got a goal but it worked out as my replacement (Isak) matched him. I would have captained him if I had him but as I didn't, I put it on Ice Cold Palmer, who smashed it.

I'm thinking of making him cap again this week.

Yes.

I don't get why they feel they need to do it so much unless injuries meant formation change.

Either Gabriel starts and plays central defence, or he doesn't and someone else will. They'll be a set piece threat either way.

Arsenal press conference was at 1:30, Everton players will have gone home from training by then. No time to work on player specific set piece practice routines with or without him at that point anyway so there's not much advanatge for Arsenal to keep things a mystery. For fans though, and us FPL players it would be nice to know!

Would assume Dyche could just work on the premise that Bratnhwaite picks up threat 1, Tarkowski threat 2 with no need for names in training. If they get a text Friday afternoon saying who they think the numbers are or find out when the teamsheets are revealed I don't see much of difference. You'd want to remind them after the teamsheets are out anyway.

I guess it's all those marginal gains. Especially for Arteta - if the other team plans for Kivior or Gomez, fine. But if they wanna plan for Gabriel it's different.

Even though it costs me points, I quite like this kind of gamesmanship from coaches. It's a nod to a bygone era, where nobody knew anything besides what their eyes told them. I definitely wouldn't like the NFL route, where everyone knows everything and you're punished for not being on a Facebook feed or something.

That's the concern.and however crap City are right now, Haaland, Anfield excluded is getting 3 or 4 big chances a game still.
Well he's going to come alive. We know that. Haaland is awfully predictable. He's going to hit a goal a game over the season, maybe more. He also scores hattricks more often than one should. Take those two things together and he'll have big streaks and low streaks. We had his big weeks at the starts, and we're all waiting for the next. I fully expect him to score two against us, but I don't think that will confirm he's back.

Sanchez
Gabriel Timber Hall
Salah Palmer Saka Semenyo
Isak Jackson Cunha

Fabianski Rogers Greaves Lewis

Captain Palmer, such a tough choice this week.

Lewis >Gomez if we get a leak saying Gabriel is definitely out.

These are the bigger weekends when there’s more than one clear obvious captain choice. Salah, Palmer, Saka and even if you have Haaland all have great potential to haul big this weekend. You could make a case for putting it on any of them especially the first three.

I’ve got the first three and currently on Palmer but that’s going against my own rule that I said out loud to myself a few weeks ago of always captain Salah

Salah home to Fulham is very hard to ignore.
Fulham have a knack of disrupting Arsenal especially at home. But you can't see them doing much at Anfield bar losing 3 nil.

Chelsea vs Brentford last 3 matches at the bridge:
Chelsea - Brentford 0-2
Chelsea - Brentford 0-2
Chelsea - Brentford 1-4

I’m going with Saka (C)
This is a Chelsea in 2nd place and a Brentford one of the worst in the league away though.

I’m so confused with my bench options. Help needed. Currently starting

Sanchez
Cucurella Kerkez timber
Salah Saka Palmer rogers
Isak Pedro Cunha

Bench - flekken, ait nouri, van hecke Bruno

Thinking about taking Bruno for Rogers. Also, ait nouri vs ips but Ipswich do score

Raya - Saliba Hall Ait-Nouri - Salah Saka Palmer Rogers - Larsen Jackson Solanke

Valdimarsson Amad Greaves Harwood-Bellis

Should be a good weekend I guess...? Probably not

Making Palmer captain. Brentford have sone of the worst xGC data away from home and Palmer didn't play midweek.

Expect a rant from me tomorrow.

Looks like it's a 50/50 split on captain this week

Who to Captain:

Palmer, Salah, Haaland or Saka?

No benching headaches this week

I thought Fulham didn’t have Bassey and Anderson?
They didn't have Andersen for ages, he's been injured and they're generally a more cohesive team. Brentford are pub level defense. But I'm sure Salah will get two penalties and mess me up.
