Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

My ML mate is having a ball.

Captain Palmer, Mebumo, Bowen and Vardy.

While I sit and pray to the old and new gods that feckin Ait Nouri gets tonked on his head which goes into the goal and gets called his goal.

Wowwww. Another penalty not given. Wolves are the most screwed team cause of VAR in these past 2 seasons.

I expect Cunha takes the pens so no chance it'd have been a pen.
Even stamping on the bloke's foot.

There's always a few times a year you get on a player just after the massive hauls have taken place.

It's usually Pedro for me, this year it's Cunha.

Just glad I went Palmer over Saka 2 weeks ago, as that was a real 5050!
I have 2 players like that. Cunha and Gabriel. Missed every Gabriel haul and had him for weeks while he was getting 2 pointers.
Needless to say I got Saka in 2 weeks back :D

Yep he should have taken 2. The first one is at least debatable. The 2nd one is a clear stamp. This not overruling the on field ref is so bullshit. Then take out VAR all together cause anytime they change a decision it’s overruling the ref.

So what to do with Haaland for the ones still owning him? Are you plan to sell now or hold?

To actually halt the game for a review, then see it in slow mo and decide that's not a foul is beyond scandalous.

Whether it's "enough" to floor him shouldn't matter, it's a stamp on a foot which is a foul all day long.

Mbeumo / Bowen double fail.

Sold Mbeumo and my straight swap candidate was Bowen but went Semenyo instead so I can buy Isak for this next gameweek.

You idiot! You should have asked me if I had Semenyo and I would have told you that I do

Cunha has been an absolute flop but only have myself to blame. Should have ignored the few big games he had and used common sense and the eye test. He’s always looked good but had a terrible final product. He’s just really not worth the money they want for him, you can get much better for much cheaper in the likes of even Vardy etc. I’ll hold him for Ipswich and if he flops in that too then im getting rid even before the Leicester game.

Not just United next, but Everton, Leicester, West Ham and Ipswich in the upcoming weeks. We're in 2nd wildcard territory by then so if you've held him this long might as well hold until then.

Exactly!

Needs to have a run of scoring 2-3 each game for me to bring him back and see city winning games consistently again. Taking him out has allowed me to fit in all of Salah, Palmer and Saka and also added Bruno to this now and Trent in the backline for the time being. Not having Haaland just gives you more room to move so much more round because of his insane price. When he’s banging goals in he’s a must have but his and City’s form just means he’s no longer a must have currently like before.

That is just not true. I can sell Cunha and get Isak this week and have Cunha haul and Isak flop for the next 3 GWs at least. It is like magic.

If you've kept him this long he's a keep, fixtures are about to turn.

Agreed, and I too took him out a few weeks back now. I think the time might have almost passed for that now, but that could just be sunken cost fallacy on my part, not I actually have any cost sunk in him.

Would be hoping he could return to his top form for the next few weeks if I still had him. He's still 40%+ owned but a lot of that is in dead teams. Among active teams/high ranked teams it's a lot less for obvious reasons as moving away from him to Salah, Palmer, Saka etc. has given those of us who did a big advanatge. It's at the point where Haaland is kind of a differential versus those who already shifted away from him.

Big gamble to continue to keep him, might depend on my rank. If I was doing badly, would see holding onto him and hoping as my only way back. If doing ok then I'd still very much consider shifting him. Was assuming that anyone who has kept him throughout is likely suffering although that's not guranteed to be the case.

Every thing I do at the moment turns to shit so I'm gonna do nothing for a few weeks and then gut my team with the saved up transfers.
I tried adopting that approach but used one of my 2 available transfers today after only having 10 players getting minutes this gameweek.

Stuck with Watkins. Is a move to Isak or Jackson a good idea since both seem to havz great fixtures?

I am in deep shit and trailing by 100+ in all my leagues but I finally feel like I got my team to a respectable shape:

Raya
TAA Estupinan Kerkez (Mazraoui Faes)
Salah Palmer Saka Mitoma (Amad)
Jackson Evanilson Pedro

With some spare in the bank. Think I will just set and forget it for the next 3-4 weeks (with Palmer C, Salah VC) and see whether I'm catching up.

Still unsure on what to do with Haaland...
I still have a chance to get all 4 Premiums in with an otherwise still useful Squad.
But would have to take a hit and sacrifice Arsenal defence (would have to do Raya to Fabianski and Bruno to Saka with 0.0m itb).
And would probably need to do it today as Saka will raise overnight.

GW16Team would look like:
Fabianski
Ait Nouri Colwill Maz
Salah Amad Palmer Rogers Saka
Haaland Joao Pedro

Bench: 4.0 Keeper, Wissa, Robinson, Greaves

Worth it? Currently on 600k overall.

Any news on how long Konate will be out for? Looking for a cheap defender and was thinking about Joe Gomez, won't keep him long term but just for 3/4 game weeks, or is Konate back soon?

Haaland's huge value is as captain.
If you tend to captain Salah or Palmer, then 15m is an outrageous amount to hold a player for.

90% of the thread are probably saying "we know mate, that's why we don't have him".

And currently it'd be insane to captain him ahead of Palmer and Salah, regardless of fixtures.

Source: I did that for several weeks while all of my mates sold him, hoping this was going to be the differential to bring me back to the game.

It's been an absolute disaster of a season - by far the worst I've ever had. Almost every captain choice has been wrong and failed miserably. I suppose the only "neat thing" was I did rack up to 5 FTs along the way and stayed relatively patient to follow through with my plan to go all in with 4 premiums and field a budget defense. There were big problems along the way - with almost all my cheap defenders getting injured along the way - Andersen, Dunk, Mykolenko, Van de Ven, etc. I'm still resigned to now accepting that 1-2 pointers in DEF is fine. I haven't owned Wood all season and he's absolutely destroyed me - I flirted with Solanke (did absolutely nothing when I owned him), Havertz (he was OK early on), Watkins (typical 4 pointers), Wissa (no hard feelings, he was ace when I owned him), Raul (dead to me). The fellow winning my ML by almost 200 points had Wood since day 1. He's at 38K OR. I'm at about 4 Mil OR after executing Order 66 to get to the 4 premiums.

My team as it stands now:
Hendo - Fabianski
Colwill - Timber - Dunk - Mykolenko - Van Den Berg
Saka - Palmer - Salah - Rogers - Dibling
Strand Larsen - Haaland - J. Pedro

It's bare bones, and a hell of a lot of risk surrounding the 4 premiums. Really don't know if I can recommend this to anyone considering the 4 premium option. Haaland has to haul, and haul big for multiple weeks, to make up for this disaster.

Interesting one. I'm going to chicken out from giving a definitve yes or no but instead give some rambling thoughs. Far be it from me to talk a man out of his dream lineup!

Understand the urgency to get Saka due to that price rise, and with Everton (H), Palace (A), Ipswich (H) in the next 3 they're playing some of the weaker teams too.

That equally applies to Raya as well, and while none of these teams have great defences, Everton and Palace are stronger at the back than they are going forward. We're in prime clean sheet potential territory for Raya here. Defences have been unrelaiable though, and goalies just can't haul like an outfield player can.

Speaking of which, Bruno isn't awful if delaying it a little while. City aren't the City of old even if it is away next, followed by a home game then a leaky Wolves away. He's not too shabby as a permanant hold either!

I don't like Fabianski in goal other than a backup or occassional rotatiobn option. However he is one of those 'keepers who could get you some save points if not the clean sheet ones at times.

Ait Nouri might have to come out in 2-3 weeks, or maybe not if he's playing like a number 10 like he did vs West Ham. At about the same time I also think Raul looks like a good pick. Would certainly consider doing something around that if delaying. Ait Nouri to cheaper defender, or Wissa/Joao Pedro to Raul, Bruno to Saka, Raya to a different goalie that isn't Fabianski. Henderson's fixtures looking decent from about the same time (GW 19 onwards). There's always Verbruggen or Forster too at cheap price points.

Might even toy with ideas around Son or KDB if not reaching Saka. City's fixtures looking good, and who is going to be the main man supplying Haaland? Son is just Son, not quite what he was and a minutes concern, but he's always been a deadly finisher, outperforming his xG. Spurs fixtures kind of middling though.Still, one of the highest goalscoring teams in the league, but would be a punt.

Then there's finally bin Haaland off option, could bring in any forward of your choice, reach Saka easily, plus any upgrades elsewhere. Rogers + Amad + 2 budget forwards is risky.

You can see my team 2 posts above, and I did something somewhat similar although you have some better team value spread around than mine - especially Amad if he stays in the starting lineup to rotate with Rogers and Wissa. Robinson and Fulham's fixtures are going to turn soon for the positive. I'd keep Robinson and especially Wissa if you can.

Things to think about - Maz is he guaranteed to start? Nobody knows, but you can pull value out. Like the above poster said Ait Nouri, you can pull value out there.

I'd keep an eye on Andersen (Fulham) - he's dropped to 4.2 now and is still going down BUT his return date is unknown. Tottenham's GK (Forster) as a stop gap to rotate with Fabianski? And Yoro or Martinez at United at 4.3/4.4 when United starts to solidify - or go blind low on your 5th defender or GK and go with a 3.9/3.8 dead spot that never plays. Some of those .1 or .2 pulls out of your defense could get you a rotation option at GK. Another option is to drop Amad for Enzo.

That is probably exactly what I will do. I will not risk to take the -4 today to get in Saka/Fabianski for Bruno/Raya only for Saka to get injured tomorrow in the CL...

So I will probably bring in Isak or Jackson for Haaland and upgrade Rogers to Saka. That would leave a lot of money in the bank to upgrade further (probably defense).

Anyway thank you both for taking the time to answer detailed, well appreciated.
