Fantasy Premier League 20/21

I guess we are all or most trying to replace Son.
I am looking at Barnes and Zaha mainly.

I think Zaha can be really good against Chelsea on the break, but might struggle against more defensive teams.
With Barnes you like him in many different fixtures, but not sure he will score enough points overall.

Who do people think is ideal to bring in? I like James too, but not sure I want to double up on Everton fully.
 
56 points this week up to second in the mini league, wasn’t really expecting that but super John McGinn pulled it out the bag for me with two assists, an inspired pick if I say so myself..
 
ah feck, I thought my two Wolves players were still to play but nah they both scored 0 :lol:
 
I fell asleep on my phone trying to decide what to do with Son and/or Podence, so I’ve now lost out on banking his price rise at least, but have given myself time. I was potentially benching Son this week anyway due to incredible fixtures for the rest of my team: 3x FUL, 3x avl, 3x lee, 1x BHA.

I’d take a hit to get Ings, but that just moves more money out of midfield and I want to be moving it there in the medium term.

I managed to scrape up to the grand total of 30 points after my wildcard. Werner is in my sights but I just know if i rage bin him he will go and get a hattrick

My highest score was my goalkeeper and Mane. Both wolves players got 0. Great stuff!

Worst start ever though!

You can't think like that. I wanted to take a punt on him until after the West Brom game and see how he does. He's barely got me any points and is not even playing through the middle so he's out. I dont really care if he goes on to score... I'm sure Jiminez (the replacement) will score also AND is on penalties!

Did this exact move on Saturday, before Werner dropped and Jiminez had a price rise. The nice thing is they don't have a mid week fixture so no risk of injury there....just hope he doesn't get clattered in training.

It's logically the right thing to do. Jiminez playing an utterly awful Fulham team at home. Should be bagging a goal or two. But that's the thing with Fantasy Football, logic never works!

Can someone please help.

I've made two transfers for a -4 (Werner and Buur to Jiminez and Castagne) but thinking to WC and bring them points back.

Going from:

McCarthy
TAA, Taylor, KWP, Castagne
Salah, Klich, KDB
DCL, Mitrovic, Jiminez

Subs: Steer, Son, Dallas, Bissouma

To this:

Martinez
TAA, Castagne, Lamptey
Salah, Fernandes, KDB, Soucek
DCL, Bamford, Jiminez

Subs: Steer, Taylor, KWP, Anguisa

My plan was to hold on to the WC until after GW 4 but with that second team there, I would have to pull the trigger now as it gives me 0 in the bank...

Thoughts?

Think your first team looks good enough. Not sure you need the wildcard just to get Bruno in.
Even though we are great at getting pens.
I guess Southampton defense double might not be the best, but they are playing West brom though.
 
I added Zaha when he was 7m. Now he is up to 7.2m. But when I take him out it’s still saying I have only 7m in the bank. Why?

That's not possible. Go to transfers and change it to list view. You'll see current price (CP), Selling price (SP) and Paid Price (PP). Your SP will always be the middle of your CP and PP rounded down.

So if your PP for Zaha was £7.0 and his CP is £7.2 then your SP must be £7.1.

Likewise for me my PP for DCL was £7.1. His CP is £7.4 but his SP is £7.2.

You're first team is not too bad. Doesn't seem like there is that much change to use the WC...but you could be priced out. The main one you really want to transfer out is Son.
Lamptey would be nice to get in but they have Everton next and have conceded 6 in 2 don't forget.
Mitrovic will probably need to go soon too but Bamford could dry up as well, Leeds have City and Wolves next.
Klich is looking good too, I wouldn't swap for Soucek. West ham are shite they just had a bizaree one off game last night.

It could still be a good time to WC because you're already -4 probably -8 as Son needs to go. But i'm not keen on team 2!

That’s a bunch of bullshit. That’s not fair. What’s the point in signing a player early on and not be able to fully reap the benefits if his value goes up?

I like your Wildcard team, but that’s because it’s similar to mine. Although I have Mahrez and KWP instead of Soucek and TAA.
I want Mahrez as I plan to remove him in a couple of weeks for Pulisic, who is now down to 8.3.

I was happy enough with my original team but I’ve Wildcarded due to the same reason as you - if I wait a few more days the same team would cost 0.5 more and I’d be priced out. I’ve never Wildcarded this early before.

I haven't pulled the trigger yet... Not sure if I should.

I guess if I hold, I can do the same team if I get one of Pulisic, Rashy or Ziyech instead of Bruno...

50% sell-on clause. Makes the game more interesting, and without the clause, the pricing system would be open to being abused I think.
 
Barkley is probably a little too expensive for me to go for him right now but at £5.9m I think he might be a decent option at Villa.

Barkley is the biggest FPL troll there is. Any time he picks up the slightest bit of form and I bring him in he goes rubbish again. It's happened several times and he's a well known 'trap' in the fpl community. Never again.
 


This makes me feel better about not moving Son on with a hit involved. He is going to be benched away for me this weekend if Podence is fit.
