Fantasy Football 2017/18

Shaw and Stone to remain first 1st choice?
I'm expecting Shaw to hold his spot for now. Stones has made a few big mistakes in a row. So there is a chance he might be dropped if Kompany is fit. But I think Pep will still start him.

Yeah. Just really dislike putting Liverpool players in my team

For years, I used to refuse to pick Liverpool or City players for my fantasy team. Never used to hinder me.

Although to be fair, that's when Liverpool and City didn't have many players worth picking. :)

Can't decide Captain:

Salah, a consistent high scoring player against Swansea but is reportedly a bit ill

Aguero, who usually bangs them in against Newcastle but has been inconsistent this year

Kane, whose in great form but blanks when you expect him to haul

Those José quotes on Shaw makes me think downgrading Jones to him could be a nice move. It would facilitate a midfield of Pogba, Salah, Sterling and Arnautovic behind Kane and Aguero then.

Thoughts lads?

Same thought, seems he’s a starter now

I've already got him but yeah it seems his place to lose now. Jones is a bonus point magnet though unlike Shaw.

Have patiently kept Hazard for ages, and he never seems top notch when Morata is out.
But they're playing Brighton. Away, but still.

On the other hand, I took Pogba out after his 3 blanks, and have watched him get hauls these last 2 games.
But Burnley and Tottenham aways next.

Lingard, same fixtures, much cheaper. And will Sanchez reduce his output, or improve it?

Difficult.

Hazard in, or out. And which of those 2 to put in, if either.

Firmino is my "danger man" that I don't currently own (outside of the above)

Decisions.

Ross Barkley (7.3 million) is more expensive than Willian (6.7 million). WTF are these people thinking?

They're using logic.

Barkley
15/16: 3076 mins, 158 points
16/17: 2900 mins, 144 points
17/18: 7.5 starting price

Willian
15/16: 2740 mins, 135 points
16/17: 1534 mins, 114 points
17/18: 7.0 starting price

Barkley has not played for about 6 months, is at a new club and probably won't start a league game until February. It's madness I say!

They set the prices when the game is released in mid July. Prices are based on previous history and future potential. During the season the price will rise by .1 if the player gains 100k buyers and fall by .1 if the player loses 10 % of his ownership.

Drastically changing a player's value mid season just because he moves to another club is not the way to go. It messes with team value and adds unnecessary uncertainty to the game.

They get the player valuation right 80 % of the time I'd say. Then you've got a few players that are overvalued (Baines, Zouma, Alexis are examples this season) while some are bargains (Salah, Sterling, Jones).

The problem is rotation and Ashley Young. Jones has increased quite a bit hasn't he? Both players a huge injury risk, although seem to be holding up now. Ashley Young has been one of our best players in many games as left-back, in fact he has been better than Shaw due to his attacking force and crosses. Young will continue to play in my opinion, but will he play left-back? Valencia is the first player in our team-sheet so to speak.

Shaw and Young will be rotated, the latter deserves to play - so I'd stay away from Shaw in the long-run.

I already did it last week. It worked great so far :p

Salah pictured back in training but i think Agüero will be a better choice as his scoring record against Newcastle is impeccable and City will want to respond after their unbeaten run came to an end and they are playing at home too. I have decided to go with him yesterday after having Kane as my captain all week.

Yeah I've gone Aguero as a last hurrah.

Shipping him and DCL out next week for Firmino and Vardy.

Will leave me with this for the foreseeable...

Pickford/Elliot
Alonso/Ottamendi/Shaw/Kenny/Ogbonna
Salah/Lingard/Arnautovic/Sterling/Albrighton
Kane/Firmino/Vardy

Ok I've switched to Aguero :nervous:

I hate Conte!!!

Christensen off at 57 mins to earn 1 single point, while Chelsea have a clean sheet.
Christensen has been pretty bad in terms of FPL. I have had him since his price went up to 5.7 and look at the points he has given since then, considering chelsea's favourable fixtures.

I have swapped him out already and the first game hasn't even ended. That's my level of frustration with him.

I feel your pain.

I picked him up about 2 months ago for 5.4 and thought it was a steal as Chelsea had a good run of like 10 fixtures, but his return has been very disappointing in the last month as Conte has been rotating him and taking him off early.
Coming off at 57 mins today really was a kick in the teeth.

I want him and Morata out of my team immediately.

Monreal must be on for some points. 2 assists and a goal in 25 mins.

Barely fecking played when I had him.

Was feeling smug having kept Hazard, and was enjoying a chuckle at the Shaw is a safe bet talk, then saw your post, and garhhjhhh/

Bloody heck! He's been a dreadful signing. It's one thing when you have some chimpy filler from a crap team who you expect nothing of, but this guy just consistently misses the points.

A recent sub on at 33 for 57mins (which I was hoping you meant, but alas not!), today's off on 58mins and missing the 2 home banker clean sheets.
Imagine having those points, 5+5+6+6 (maybe give or take the odd point if you had a deputy for the latter two.
Significant missed points though

Yeah it's definitely in the region of 20 points down the drain :( So frustrating as I am like 30 points behind my league leader. Think I'll transfer him out now as I can't stand anymore missed opportunities.
