Fantasy Football 2017/18

He's got Kane, Firminho and Pogba (we've both got Salah & Sterling). Willian probably won't even play this weekend so he's got to go.

If it's only 4 points, then a triple captain could still do much damage - imagine if it was wasted on Zaha and he made a non-show. I'd still pick Salah/Sterling/Kane I think.

Help me out guys!

Last round coming up, guess a few managers are as nervous as me. I need some input and reassurances for my own league, where I currently enjoy a 12 point lead over the next guy (who's an annoying Liverpool-fan btw) - having been as much as 150 points up during the season. Losing this in the last round would be devastating to say the least! I have the bench boost activated (without really having a bench) - he has no chips left whatsoever. I have been lingering around 10-20k in the world all season, before losing my grip the last 10 rounds or so - hedging too much and doing stupid choices and hits:

My squad - listed full due to bench boost:
Lloris
Valencia, Smalling, Laporte, Monreal, Long
Sterling, Son, Mahrez, Willian, King
Kane (c), Jesus, Quaner

His team:
De Gea (Courtois)
Vertonghen, Mustafi, Monreal, Laporte (Smalling)
Eriksen (c), Sterling, Tadic (Young) (Carroll)
Jesus, Kane, Perez

Both have obvious problems coming up; Valencia/Smalling probably won't play for me, but we know de Gea won't play for him - Courtois uncertain as well. Our back-lines are pretty similar due to hedging, I have a nice differential in Long from Burnley (Bmouth at home), my Lloris hedges out Vertonghen. Both midfields pretty weak, him having a probable advantage in Eriksen vs. Son as Son could be rested for Lamela or Moura in the last game. Eriksen always plays. Similar strikers, although he has Perez who'll start the game at home to Chelsae for sure.

Should I stay calm and hope for the best or do a few hits to get a better team? All I know is that he will probably take a hit or two, at least -4. I also think he will choose another captain than Kane, as he knows I will pick Kane. I am guessing right now that he'll captain Eriksen, possibly Jesus. I've already made one transfer by bringing in Long for Kenny, obviously regretting it since I now realize Valencia and Smalling both will (most likely) be rested. Right now I am contemplating doing a -8 hit, where I sell Mahrez and Valencia/Smalling, bringing in Salah and a Liverpool-defender based on any leaks coming out. As mentioned above, I also have the bench boost activated. Quaner and King will most likely rack up a total of 3 points in total.

Your input is highly appreciated!

Auba is in great form and he doesn't have him so already that is extra points. You could play safe and triple Salah as you both have him...he could potentially captain him and then you know your safe from the start!

Although I'd be slight worried about Kane. It would be typical of spurs to try and get Kane golden boot and celebrate like it's a team trophy.

I would definitely take that hit and get Salah and someone like TAA/Robertson in as well. Who is your reserve goalkeeper?

Keep an eye on how many hits he's made up until the deadline. If he takes a -8 I'd also look at taking another hit to improve that bench boost potential.

I've wrapped up my mini league so not worried about that (119 points lead) but just realised I'm also 6 points ahead in the motm race so would be nice to win that too.

After Mourinho's comments I've shifted DDG & Sane for Adrian & Salah. Final GW team is

Adrian (Ryan)
Dummet / Vertonghen / Lowton (Cedric / Simpson)
Sterling / Eriksen / Salah (c) / Pogba / Ramsey
Kane / Jesus (Barnes)

Slightly worried about having little bench cover with the likelihood of players being rotated. Contemplating Simpson out for TAA (benching Dummet) but not sure it's worth it.

Last week, my score was 73. For the dgw, I made 5 changes (16 point hit) and finished with 71 points

Done Auba in for Jesus.

Tempted to switch McArthur on from the bench for Lingard.

Main problem is Kane Auba or Salah for captaincy.
Kane is surely the most nailed on.

Okay, so now 12 points off top and 14 ahead of 3rd.

My team at the moment.

Pope
Tarkowski, Baines, Naughton
Milivojevic, Eriksen, Zaha (c), David Silva
Tosun, Kane(v), Vardy

Bench: De Gea, Arnautovic, Monreal, Yedlin

Need to read up on all the press conferences after the embargo but will likely make David Silva my only transfer (£0.6m in the bank) but not sure for who

De Gea is the only player I share with the guy on top. So provided he doesn't have a wild card or another move, I'm not relying on a select few.

Arnie on the bench? Over Tosun?? Really???

Not going for any Liverpool players? Salah could score a few.

Should I take a -4 on swapping De Gea? Im leading with 35 points to no2.

Overall I got a better team than my nearest rival and TC left.. He has Ryan in goal so he probably wont get Clean sheet

Not worth it imo. I only did it because I needed a second transfer to fund Salah so it was a no brainer.

Ok folks, i'm in 4th in both my money leagues. Staying in those positions would win me £150!

First league I am about 25 off 2nd, 8 off 3rd with a 31margin to 5th, the other is very tight...

Getting to 3rd would be another £80. And put one over a massive year in year out rival.

As it stands, pre transfers, I'm 8 points behind him, with the below points of difference

ME - HIM
Dubravka - Hennessy
Mawson - Valencia
Christensen - Tarkowski
Mariappa - Lowton
Milo (Palace mid) - King (Swansea cheapo)
Hazard - Mahrez

Both have De Gea, Smalling, Morgan, Sterling, Eriksen, Kenedy and the front 3 of Jesus, Kane, J Ayew

De Gea and Smalling out is a massive blow, as while we both have them, my backups are weaker
Neither of us have Salah, and while I can do Hazard to him free, he'd have to sacrifice Sterling or Eriksen in one, or do 2 transfers with Mahrez and probably Smalling.

If he does 2 i'll probably do 2, either getting a more solid goal threat defender in for Smalling, or trying to get Zaha in there somehow.

Any thoughts?

I don't like the look of Burnley and Palace having homes, so as it stands I'd needa Mawson or Milo to score. Something out of the ordinary!

Mawson is a decent pick, tbh. They are at home to Stoke and Stoke doesn't have anything to play for anymore. I'd reckon Mawson is in a solid chance for 6 points, so an able replacement for Smalling.

I'm fighting fires left right and centre. Decided to take Smalling out for Robertson.

That leaves me with Ryan in goal against Liverpool at Anfield, Willian and Son playing who are both rumoured to be carrying injuries, Tadic playing vs City, Davies who may be rotated, and 3 injured subs. There's only 1 mini league I'm interested in and it's tight. I'll be amazed if I keep my #1 spot after this shit show.

How many hits are people taking?

I’m considering a -8 to go De Gea/Silva/Son to Fabianski/Salah/Arnautovic

But that leaves Lingard in my first XI and he’s going to be dropped. Wish I knew if Son/Silva were definitely out.

Good team. Do you know what the deal with Sterling is? Will he start you reckon?

Can't imagine anything more than a -4 being worth it for the last game of the season.

How do you know Lingard is gonna be dropped? I've put McArthur in for him from the bench because he's been scoring loads recently.

I think hits are fine in the right context. I take loads and generally finish top 10k in the world (4k this season).

McArthur is fine to come in. I don’t have as good a bench option as Barnes is injured, so it would have to be Lingard.

In terms of him being dropped https://mobile.twitter.com/utdxtra/status/994694438558556160

Son started the last game and he’s the one most easily replaced right now... Lamela/Moura etc... probably benched.

People said this about 4 weeks back when he had played more games and then he went and scored a double away from home. He has been Spurs most productive player at Wembley and Poch likes him. I don't like the thoughts of dropping such a dangerous player based on a whim, especially as he could well start at home to a Leicester team who are weak at the back. Looking at his recent stats I notice after he is rested he starts the next 2 in the league.

Everyone's circumstances are different though. Good luck.

The reason I brought it up was this Korean report https://www.reddit.com/r/FantasyPL/comments/8im0bc/son_has_an_ankle_injury_that_stemmed_from_the/

Apparently he has had an injury and has been playing with injections.
