I would be more excited for Man United to get rid of Valencia and Young in the summer than signing any of these stars.
To the point where they are judged good enough for Utd? Not saying no one has watched these players but watching youtube clips or 5 mins segments of games whilst the missus is straightening her hair before you go out does not qualify as watching. Unless some of the people on here just watch football and do nothing else?
I'm going to be even worse.
In fact, I've a country in nation states called Muppetsry. That's how much of a muppet I am.

This is pretty much mine, except I haven't really been won over by Draxler yet, so I'd plump for Reus.If I could name any 5 players that I'd want at United:
Vidal
Rakitic
Draxler
Shaw
Carvalho
I'd love Firmino too, but can't see how we'd fit him.

Not sure if serious but cocks out for JWP.James Ward-Prowse
Ben Davies
Ryan Shawcross
Seamus Coleman
Lucasz Fabianski
At the way he's being shunted around, Jones seems to be fulfilling that role.Shaw, Kovacic, Carvalho, Reus, O'Shea*. If Pedro is displeased with his current Barca situation and ever wished to leave, then him.
*not really O'Shea, but an equivalent of what he used to offer.
I was going for an ultra pessimistic but also realistic list Rick. Not totally serious, but out of those players I'd certainly like to see JWP and Coleman here (even if we don't really need Coleman, considering how much he'd cost). Not sure if serious but cocks out for JWP.

All seems pretty reasonable and necessary... Van Persie I think is leaving, regardless of what Moyes and him say. We play better with only 1 of RVP or Rooney on the pitch, and since Rooney signed a new contract, then he's staying. We'll need a versatile forward to replace him, and Volland would be perfect for that as he's capable of playing on either flank, or up front, and is only 21 years old. Nani I think will go for his own good, Young should leave, and then we'll replace them with Alexis Sanchez. Cleverley should leave as he's not good enough and we'll have too many midfielders with Gundogan and Carvalho coming in. Rio, Vidic, Giggs and Evra are all retiring or not extending their contracts almost certainly, so we need 1 center back to replace Rio and Vida. Preferably an experienced one like Benatia, but Mangala would work too. Shaw to replace Evra, Buttner can stay as back up. Lindegaard probably to leave to get first team football somewhere, Johnstone to replace him. That's enough for one summer though. Then in the January transfer window we go to improve depth for right back if Vermijl or Varela aren't good enough.
When you look at it, it's not really anything crazy. It seems like a lot, but Rio, Evra and Vidic leaving will free up loads of money from the wages even though they don't get a transfer fee, same with Van Persie (and Young, if he's actually on 120k a week). It's all just doing like for like switches more or less, getting rid of some dead wood and putting in more quality.
Starting XI:
Rooney
Kagawa Mata Sanchez
Carvalho Gundogan
Shaw Benatia Jones Rafael
De Gea
Isn't Anderson a loan and then 6m future fee? It's 2014, those seem perfectly reasonable fees. Van Persie is still a top striker with a few years left on his contract. Nani at 12.5 isn't a lot at all, 2 years ago he was worth over 30m arguably. He's had a lot of injuries since then but the rumours with Galatasaray and everyone else has been between 10-15m, with it being around 8m before he extended his contract.Think your figures need some adjusting. Can't see us getting that much for Nani, Hernandez, Van Persie, Anderson or even Young.

Hernandez has 2 years left on his contract and there's no chance we'll get less then 15m for him. He's huge marketing wise in North America, and is a very good and effective player, and still very young. Young at 7.5m isn't bad at all either, Villa would bring him back in a heartbeat as would any mid table premier league teams. Those figures are all reasonable these days, all slightly below their market value pretty much, and a decent amount less then what they would go for last summer.
I won't argue they're all near their respective market values, if a little generous. But when have we ever received market rates for players we've moved on? When we have sold, barring an extreme example such as Ronaldo, we have done so on our terms and received in many cases far below their worth. Look at Gibson, Brown, Van Nistelrooy, Beckham, Cole, Forlan...the list goes on.
I agree, but usually we sell players who just aren't good enough to smaller teams for next to nothing. We usually get a fair price when we sell to another big team, which is what we would get for Rvp, Hernandez, nani to Juve possibly, etc. Young will go to an upper midtable team probably, so 7.5m isn't bad at all, especially when you look at some of the fees people pay. Cleverley and lindegaard will both not get a lot but that's more just to reduce squad size in midfield and because lindegaard probably wants to play in a match again one day.I won't argue they're all near their respective market values, if a little generous. So would I, I just doubt he'll want to. He's a very good #2 but he probably wants first team football now that we aren't winning trophies.I'd keep Lindegaard tbf, provided he wants to stay.
We're not going to buy three midfielders. Two at a push, more likely one, especially as we have a lot of other positions to deal with.Kroos, Carvalho, Gundogan, Coentrao/Shaw, Griezmann (Reus if he was available), sixth with Ginter (young and great prospect) (instead of looking within the club)
Summary:
- World class midfield 3 with the best balance between attack and defence you could imagine
- Clinical winger than can run in behind as an inverted winger, scoring lots of goals, (lacked it this summer with no real winger with "end product"
- Great defensive prospects in Ginter, and a full-back that actually has... wait for it... a delivery.
