Here, some context for you.
Pfff! I hate that they never show the RVP-banners on telly....
Here, some context for you.
What’s Cole got to do with it?The entire forum told me he was a good manager. I don’t pay much attention to the majority.
His role is fine. If anything he has a bigger status than he should of ever got. But fair play to the fanbase… I’ll repeat Andy Cole doesn’t get this love.
I will find you and end you.

So wrong.
Edit: I see you've been pulled up for this a lot and have corrected yourself.
How dare you
Maybe because he scored less (even had a worse goal per 90 ratio), won less and moved on to play for 8 other clubs after he played for us. He still gets love here though.I’ll repeat Andy Cole doesn’t get this love.
I think the "they're singing about his playing career" part completely misses the point. If they're singing about his managerial career at United it's perfectly justified.
He had some great moments as manager and, although it finished badly, there was more good than bad during his time in charge. But, most importantly, everything he did while manager of the club was with the club's best interests at heart. No selfishness, no short termism.
So much sentiment here, and people wonder why Ole was manager for so long. He was given a role he was never qualified for and allowed to stay for longer than he should have.
There are umpteen examples from years of posting of you being a WUM and if you aren’t then you are severely uneducated.Who told you I said I was 9?
Just because you disagree doesn’t make someone a troll. Maybe just answer the points in question.
One of those clubs was City tooMaybe because he scored less (even had a worse goal per 90 ratio), won less and moved on to play for other 8 clubs after he played for us. He still gets love here though.

Come on mate, you're not being honest and seem to have talked yourself into knots.
You make a ridiculous claim about RVPs contribution over Oles.
Then you try to defend this by saying you were younger and the RVP season meant more, which is fair enough but doesn't explain what you said. You never spoke about personal feelings or what meant more in the initial statement.
Then someone else makes a good point which you ignore, tell them they are too young to know and that you've watched Ole's whole career.
You're making zero sense here and contradicting yourself.

9th actually.
Which of the players ahead of him is not a Mancester United Legend and if so has he scored overtime winners in a CL final or won more than 6 PL-trophies (11 trophies as a player for United)?
I'll give you the names of the players ahead of him on the all time goalscoring-list so you don't have to look it up:
Wayne Rooney
Dennis Law
Ryan Giggs
Paul Scholes
Ruud van Nistelrooy
Georg Best
Bobby Charlton
Cristiano Ronaldo
Only Law and RVN on that list had a better goal per 90 ratio than Ole. Both won less trophies with the club.
Ole played an instrumental part in our clubs by far most successful period and has been loyal to the club since he came here 25 years ago.
In the end he failed as a manager here, but that doesn't change any of the above.
What the actual feck
It made me angry as Ole is the past and it just seems like we are stuck in the glory past it gives rival fans ammunition. Make some new songs up for the players currently playing. Does Greenwood even have a song yet?!
I have nothing against singing about club legends (Cantona Christmas song for example is nice and rare). But the Ole songs were sang constant and clearly sang trying to make a point for the Tele and people watching. Enough is enough. The coincidence was that Young Boys scored a goal during another Ole rendition by the Old Trafford faithful.
I'm sure even Ole himself is embarrassed and finds it bizarre that they are not focused on the current players on the pitch.
Kind of agree with this. Didnt make me angry, but yeah singing his name so emphatically so shortly after he was sacked for having us 10th in the league and playing like shite and practically wasting 3 years is a bit weird. It made me angry as Ole is the past and it just seems like we are stuck in the glory past it gives rival fans ammunition. Make some new songs up for the players currently playing. Does Greenwood even have a song yet?!

Seen a few people moaning about this or calling it “cringe”.
Let’s get it straight, Ole Solskjaer is and always will be a Manchester United legend. Fans have sung his name for over 20 years and will continue to do so long into the future, just like they do with Cantona and many many others.
It didn’t work out for him as manager sadly, and I wanted him out as much as anyone, but that doesn’t stain his legacy with the club so STFU whining and join in the celebration and recognition of his playing career with us.
I mean I’m pretty sure the loudest chant was the donny van de break chant to be honestIt made me angry as Ole is the past and it just seems like we are stuck in the glory past it gives rival fans ammunition. RVP’s one season it better than Ole’s whole entire United career.
Where I’m from close to my age can’t nobody tell us different. If your older than 40 then maybe it’s different and fair play to you guys.
Almost as if Ole was at the club longer, played more game and scored more goals, isn't it? Although Andy Cole does still get his name sung from time to time & was serenaded by the away end at QPR in pre-season.The entire forum told me he was a good manager. I don’t pay much attention to the majority.

I easily see other strikers in our team playing better than him. Where’s there love and songs?
Solskjaer is a bastard!
He wears a bastards hat, when he saw Old Trafford he said I'm spoiling that
Yeah cos United fans have a reputation for always only singing the easiest songs to sing. Its because people love the song. Its catchy and easy to sing so people will keep at it. If you ask why they will tell you all about Ole and the reason why he is a hero etc but the real reason is that its stuck in their heads and easy to sing when drunk
He didn't stay at Molde, or Cardiff 'cos they're shite - he came to Man Utd purely out of spite.
Ooooohhhhhh

Godamm right that's what you mean.Erm, I mean fiiiive Cantonaaaaaa's!
This is one of the worst takes I've read in a long time.RVP’s one season it better than Ole’s whole entire United career.

Who's. That. Twat from Argentina.....One of the reasons why Man United is such a great club is how we treat our players when they are here.
I would go as far to say that no other club in the world has that to our extent.
We have songs for cult players, iconic players and everything in between and it's one of the reasons why this club remains in the hearts of so many ex staff and players when they leave.
Barring judases, any ex man united player will get a song and the man who scored maybe our most iconic goal in the club's history is perfectly entitled to one. Solidarity to him after what must be a difficult time for him is what Man united are all about as a club.
I too was Ole out (imo should have left after the EL final), but he, like any other ex player of the club will always have a place in the fans' hearts.
Imagine if you saw Ole in the street, would you give him shit? No, you'd show him appreciation for everything he did as a player, despite how his managerial stint ended.

All together now.He didn't stay at Molde, or Cardiff 'cos they're shite - he came to Man Utd purely out of spite.

Wow! What a sad little man you are. They are singing about a bloke who was the manager of UTD that had the worst result in their history. I'm sorry, but I can't forgive Ole for that 5-0 battering. It could have been avoided if he didn't try to be clever. Not only that, but conceding 9 goals against them in the last 2 home games is worse than worse.
The scousers will always be singing 5-0 every time they come to OT, and those pathetic fans will still be singing Ole songs. Pathetic!
What a load of crap!RVP’s one season it better than Ole’s whole entire United career.

+1Solskjaer was top scorer for United in his first season too. He did exactly what RVP did in his first season. Solskjaer easily ranks as a top 25 United player of all time imo, RVP definitely doesn't. The fact you rate RVP higher just means you're being ignorant of Ole's true impact as a United player imo.
What serious damage? He did great things for club as a player but he did serious damage to club as a manager. Plus his refusal to resign is something which i just can't forgive (if club comes first for him and shit like that).
So, for me, singing songs about him (at least at this moment) sounds weird. Wounds are still fresh i guess.
Lampard was in no way better than Ole, just stop.First of all; Jose and Lvg don't get songs (which is the main point of this thread). In matter of fact, fans mostly mock them and talk shit about them. (despite that they did better job than Ole).
Lampard's reign was much shorter than Ole's and he did better job. He didn't waste money and he promoted players. Results were more or less like Ole's.
As i said; i would not say anything against Ole's status IF he left a club with dignity. His first 2,5 seasons i look in a way; we offered him a chance, he tried and that is it. No shame in that.
But this season i can't forgive. Sorry, i am a twat, prick, plastic fan or call me whatever you like but this season he ruined his status in my eyes. I had a feeling that even if we dropped in relegation battle, he would still refuse to resign.
Just how i feel. Not saying that you all are wrong but that is just how i feel about this situation.
