Facts about football that shouldn't be true - but are

Just found out today that Kaka has a World Cup winner's medal from 2002.

Obviously bullshit because that is before his time. He only existed from 2005 onwards.

Messi famous for his left foot scored probably his most important goal of his life with his right foot.

Athletic Club have won a total of 24 Copa del Reys, despite not having won one since 1984.

These are the years they've won it:
They must have been a giant club at one stage?

They're old. A lot of those early Copas only had 3-5 teams and many of them don't exist anymore. A very different time, for instance: "Athletic Bilbao were declared winners in 1904 after their opponents Español de Madrid failed to show up."

We have only won the league in an even year once in the 21st century (if you take the 21st century to have started in 2001). If you take the 21st century to have started in 2000, we have only won the league in an even year twice this century.

There is a striker who gets criticized by many if he scores 5 goals away against weak premier league opposition.

Sunderland are joint third for breaking the world transfer record the most times, behind only Juventus and Real Madrid.

If he scores one more league goal this season Ollie Watkins will be the 1st Villa player to score 20 League Goals in a season since Peter Withe in the 80/81 season. Would have bet the house Yorke at least would have banged in 20 in one of his seasons.

Has to be from about 100 years ago where 2 and 6 was the going rate for a half decent player who could play football on Saturday and work down the mines all week for training.

Yorke did bang in 20. Unfortunately it was 20 19 year old...

Mark Robins came on as a sub in a FA Cup replay to save Sir Alex Ferguson his job, he also 34years later totally embarrassed a Manchester United manager nearly knocking them out of the FA Cup to practically cost ETH his job.

Saved the club twice. He's the hero we needed, but don't deserve.

Sheffield United, currently sitting on 16 points, have lost 11 points this season from own goals scored after the 85th minute.

At half time Manchester United have only been behind once away from home all season in the league. This is the fewest of any team in the division.

Kind of surprising to me. I know we can capitulate, but we just feel crap in general away.

In contrast we've led at Old Trafford 3 times all season at half time. Only have Sheffield Utd (twice) have been in front less often at home.

I read on Facebook (I know) that Andy Cole was only caught offside 24 times in 414 PL games of thats true thats an incredible stat

That can't be true. That's 1 offside every 16 games for a player who relied heavily on his speed in behind?!

Scott Parker has won the footballer of the year award, Bryan Robson and Paul Scholes never did.

That is surprising indeed. Was that Arsenal away?

Took me a while to find out who it was. Bournemouth quite recently. 2-1 down at half time.

I remember when first posting that, I was looking through information on here and it didn't have the results - https://www.soccerstats.com/halftime.asp?league=england

Now we're not top of the away half time table, that's Arsenal, but still we've been trailing less often than they have.

Bowen would be a better shout for United than either Olise/Neto. We are so low on quality and need someone who can play every week.
I agree. I love Olise aswell and think he’s a great talent but the last thing we need is another injury prone player.

Patrice Evra has played in more Champions League finals than Lionel Messi
