Facts about football that shouldn't be true - but are

Technically Ronaldo was part of a team that won the CL. He just wasn't eligible to play for them

Poch played with Maradona and against Messi.

Is it really that shocking given his overall home record?

Only Pep managed sides have beaten him at his home regularly.

Regardless of his home record, no victories out of 10 attempts = 0% win rate
...that is an atrocious stat

Pretty sure we battered Inter that game too.

That makes a lot more sense.

It doesnt make any sense, Lukaku only scored 28 goals in the PL for us. unless @SilentWitness misunderstood the comment.

Uniteds top 10 scorers in the PL
Rank---Player----Goals
1 W. Rooney -- 183
2 R. Giggs -- 109
3 P. Scholes -- 107
4 R. van Nistelrooy -- 95
5 A. Cole -- 93
6 O.G. Solskjaer -- 91
7 C. Ronaldo -- 84
8 E. Cantona -- 64
9 D. Beckham -- 62
10 A. Martial -- 51

The likes of Chicharito, Sheringham etc have all scored more.

It does if @SilentWitness was talking about Everton

It is estimated that 4.9% of the general male population are psychopaths. That number is thought to double among elite politicians, business leaders and sports people. Therefore, nearly 15% of PL players are psychopaths. And 4.9% of Championship players.

I’m an Everton fan.

Arsenal have only really won won one major European trophy in their history and it was in 1994.

I completely misinterpreted that, thought it was saying his goal against Chelsea was the first free kick they've scored in all that time. Was wondering why they bothered and even worked out in my head that it was about 600 matches.

Just against Chelsea? "Only" about 33 or 34 games.

In the past 10 seasons, Roberto Di Matteo has won the Champions League more times than Guardiola and Mourinho combined.

4.9% is too high, the number I’ve always heard is 1-2%

Wayne Rooney scored 10% of his goals for Man Utd over a course of 8 games, or 1.4% of the number of games he played for the club.

Wayne scored 8 hat-tricks for Man Utd, including one game in which he scored 4 goals, making 25 total. He scored 253 goals for us so that means almost 10% of his goals for us were spread over 8 games, and he played a total of 559 for us.

Thierry Henry, for comparison, also scored 8 hat-tricks, out of 228 goals total for Arsenal, in 376 games, so almost 11% of his goals spread over the course of 2.1% of his Arsenal apps. No idea why I thought these facts would be interesting, they're probably more or less the same for most strikers.

Three major events that effected English football

1.) 1915
English league suspended due to World War (resumed in 1919/20 season)

2.) 1939
English league suspended due to World War 2 (resumed in 1946/47 season)

3.) 1985
English league banned from European competition for five seasons

Everton were league champions on all three occasions

Are you implying that this is their year?

Guradiola won it in 2011 that was less than 10 years ago. So Di Matteo hasn't won more than him, they're equal in the last decade.

We are in 2020-21. 2010-11 does not fall within the past 10 seasons.

This post reminds me of when City signed Benjani from Portsmouth because he was top scorer in the PL seemingly ignoring the fact that 58.3 percent of his goals were scored against THAT Derby County team and relegated Reading in the freak 7-4 game. Redknapp didn’t literally shove him on the plane to Manchester but it wasn’t far from it.

Your post said the past 10 seasons mate so that obviously wouldn’t include the current one which isn’t yet finished. And Guardiola might still win it this year rendering the ‘fact’ incorrect.

So what you meant was in the past 9 seasons yes?

I’ll be sure to bump this when he inevitably ballses up the semi by playing Sterling and Ederson as a double pivot just to please the pedants to whom 2010-11 wasn’t 11 seasons ago.
