Fabregas to Barcelona!

At what point has Fabregas ever, in his life, looked like going to Real Madrid.

Boss chats some shite here, I'll be fecking AMAZED if he ends up at Madrid.

I don't think Madrid want Boss, Sharky, though nothing would surprise me with them.

In all seriousness I have a feeling he's going to end up at Madrid.

Also if Arsenal sell him I don't think they'll make top 4.

In all seriousness your feeling is deceiving you.

It's not really.

Fabregas didn't even make it to the first team, never gained legend status there. Left at a very young age.

His ties for Barca are only cultural.

He has done nothing significant there, no time to bond with the fans. He was whistled when subbed at the Camp Nou.

I don't see how it's similar to Wayne joining Liverpool.

What is the running theme Fabregas talks about?

Trophies.

He has a great chance to do that at real playing a significant part. At Barca he will be second choice to Xavi.

Who has made this "legend status" at a very young age in that Barca side? What an odd reference. Being second choice, sure, but he'll then go on and succeed him in a couple of years.

What when there's a picture of him as a child in the Barca team with a young Pique? Of course he has ties with Barca, weather he played in the main team or not. Same with Pique, he was desperate to go back.

Its exactly like the Rooney situation, they both were at a rival club to Real/Liverpool at a young age as well as supported the team. Rooney leaving his club maybe 2 years or so later doesn't change the scenario IMO. Its obvious to all he's itching to go to Barca.

He is wanted by the best team in the world, where many of his friends play, the club he and his family support and where he was a youth player.

And you think he might join their arch-rivals who live in their shadow and who are clearly second best in Spain by some distance.

Would be lovely to get T.Alacantara out of the deal if he does go to Barca.

I think you've answered your own question. The running theme is trophies, something Barcelona are in a far better position in both long and short term to achieve. If he plays second choice to Xavi now and then replaces him for the foreseeable future, I'm sure Fabregas could handle that, especially picking up trophies in the meanwhile. Xavi will be 32 by the end of the year, it's not as if he will be keeping Fabregas out for ever.

Where does the choice really come into it?

Barcelona are a better team, he's Catalan and admits to supporting them his whole life, as well as every member of his family. His best friends are all there in Barcelona, as well as a lot of his family. He will be joining the best club in the world, who look the likeliest to sweep up trophies both now and later, and the position he wants to take up will be open in a matter of years.

It's pretty much a dream scenario for him.

Why should he wait a couple years when he can have a starting point at Real right now?!

You do know the story behind this pic right? Let's not debate on this level.

What when there's a picture of him as a child in the Barca team with a young Pique? Of course he has ties with Barca, weather he played in the main team or not. Same with Pique, he was desperate to go back.

Of course there's a pic of him and Pique, a long long time ago. He played with him....for the youth team!

It's exactly like the Wayne situation despite Fabregas never playing a single first team game for Barca? Right.

He is wanted by the best team in the world, where many of his friends play, the club he and his family support and where he was a youth player.

And you think he might join their arch-rivals who live in their shadow and who are clearly second best in Spain by some distance.

The scenario is this. Real could get him now. Fabgregas can get first team football now. Madrid isn't as far behind Barca as you think regarding football. Fabregas could be the missing link to take over the dominance and he could do that without having to wait for Xavi to feck off.

How do we know Fabregas doesn't have close mates in Real? Ramos? Alonso?

I'm sure alot of footballers play for clubs they support rivals.

People act like it would be a nightmare for Fabregas to be offered super wages out of his arse at Real, work with world class players and one of the best coaches in the world because he played for their rivals at youth level?!

I'm sure his family would be by Fabregas' side whatever decision he takes.

And I reiterate Madrid are not that far behind Barca as people think and a signing like Fabregas would go some way to tightening the gap.

Fabregas to Madrid would be like G Nev joining Liverpool.

You honestly believe this?!

Comparing somebody who gave over 20 years at United to a lad who only played for a team at youth level.

I mean my goodness.

Neville is the ultimate legend at united, Fabregas is a lad who was whistled at camp Nou earlier this year.

He probably does, but let's stick with what we do know, his family, closest friends and majority of his friends live in Barcelona, as said by himself.

What is the point in signing for Real though?

He wants to play for Barcelona, supports Barcelona, has all friends, family and influences in Barcelona. Barcelona are the better team, by a clear distance and look to stay that way. As you said he wants trophies, so why join a rival club that's second to the club you already want and from the looks of things, probably won't be able to challenge them on that front?

Of course it can happen, but it goes against complete logic since all the reasons for joining Barcelona are already right there.

That's why.

He wants to play for Barca, I agree

But would he want to play for Jose's Real?

Can anybody prove he wouldn't?

Players can want to play for more than one club.

You've listed the reasons he would want to join Barca as I've done for Real.

And this Madrid team is still gelling, the copa win and the semi finals of the CL showed everyone just how close the teams are. Excluding Higuain's wrongly disallowed goal who knows what could have happened.

Jose usually gets it right in his second season, with Cesc I doubt Barca will be better by Madrid by some distance if they are even that already.

Plus, you're assuming Hectic that he doesn't have any friends or influences at Real.

Can you prove he would?

And Hectic "assumed" it because he said "lets stick with what we know". So, yeah, lets stick with what we know and that is everything that's been mentioned above.

So all of Fabregas' friends are in Barca? Is that what we know?

Barca are a clear distance better than real? Is this also a fact?

Being silly about it now. The point is, Fabregas might have friends in Manchester, he might consider us favorites for trophies, he might really want to play under Fergie....But he hasn't said anything about that, so we don't assume so.

Likewise, the one club he has consistently talked about, is his boyhood dream club Barcelona. Since then, they have become the best team in the world. As of right now, you have to be a bit dim to think Madrid are not clearly behind them. There's a very clear difference between the two clubs, in the sense that one is a very good team with an excellent manager, the other is the best team in the world, bar none.

He might have friends all over the country, but the point he himself has alluded to is that his family, the majority of his friends, and the very closest of friends all live in Barcelona. Yes, I'm sure Fabregas has friends all over the place, that's really not the point though is it.

Barcelona are a team that at this moment in time, are head and shoulders above all others. He will be approaching this team, with a position to cement himself there, in at the most, a few years. You have to start looking for reasons not to join Barcelona, it's the ideal time where he can finally go over there and work towards cementing his first team position, while at the same time winning trophies as I'm sure they will, and playing for the club he's dreamed of playing for.

What we know from Fabregas himself is that he's always wanted Barcelona, and to return to the Catalan club and culture. Why would we start assuming random things about Madrid like how many friends he has there, and whether they can better themselves, isn't that just fitting the argument around a point?

It's like making the argument before it happened that Ronaldo was going to join Barcelona, despite everything we knew about him and what he said, except this makes even less sense because at this time, the club Fabregas does want to join is already the best, so there shouldn't be any doubts.

Barcelona are already the best team in the World. They should not be allowed to sign Sanchez and Fabregas. It simply is not fair!

So all of Fabregas' friends are in Barca? Is that what we know?

Barca are a clear distance better than real? Is this also a fact?

His family and childhood friends are there, so yes, relatively speaking. He may have some friends in Madrid but it would be nothing like what he has in Barcelona.

And yes, at least for just now Barcelona are a clear distance better than everyone.

That said, if Barcelona don't meet Arsenal's asking price he won't be going there unless he runs down his contract, which has several years to go.

Speculation: Eminent Spanish daily Marca claim Cesc Fabregas has a preliminary agreement with Barcelona and they are set meet his agent this weekend after Arsenal said he could leave - although the two clubs are yet to agree a fee.

..

Actually, Piqué is quoted in that SkySports article, too.

From Marca:

The signing of Cesc Fabregas is getting closer. The player already has a preliminary agreement with the Catalan club after getting a firm promise from Arsene Wenger that this summer he may leave London.

Arsenal is asking for £45 million and does not want players in the operation,*

*Barcelona offered £30m, Bojan and Thiago.
