MEN still saying we aren't interested in Fabinho.

A risky piece to put out, especially with how smug and insulting it is. They're going to come out with any temainin reputation completely destroyed if we do sign him now.

The Fabinho situation explained

Unfortunately, the reality is United will not pursue a deal for Fabinho, which the M.E.N. reported earlier this month. Mourinho drew up a list of possible defensive midfield options months ago and Fabinho wasn’t on it.

1. 'Which the MEN reported earlier' as if he's saying, we told you ages ago it isn't on, we know what we're talking about you imbeciles, listen to us! Dicks.

2. Jose gave the list to Ed I thought? It's a little strange he sent a copy to MEN for them to peruse? Oh wait, it's not strange, he actually didn't, and MEN have no clue who's on the list. Bunch of twats.

The cringe part is their pathetic attempted swipe at Di Marzio. They can't actually call him out because they know how much better of a journo he is, so they wrap up their insults in "transfer gurus’ transfer ‘specialists’

SO MUCH CRINGE:lol::lol:

or Di Marzio's reputation will be left in tatters, at least on here anyway. Let's wait and see if anything comes out from the French side.

First it was Ducker vs Acquire Me.

Now it's Luckhurst vs Di Marzio.

Battle of the ITKs II.

They have to. It's a ploy to try and establish some credibility. Going absolutely opposite to one of the most reliable journos out there and coming across as 100% sure about it. If something goes wrong and Fabinho doesn't come to us, they'll share this article repeatedly to remind everyone how they were bang on. If things go as usual and we sign Fabinho, no harm done as everyone thinks they're clueless feckwits anyways.

Fair enough
Really weird article though, dont see professional journos going absouletely ballisitic often.

That's the problem. They aren't.

This is the logic of a 5 year old. They then go on to take a swipe at Di Marzio for no reason.

Probably with envy, as since Mourinho came, all their cushty sources have dried up, even Rooney.

Even more reason for us to sign Fabinho. Make the MEN eat humble pie. Fancy them criticising foreign transfer gurus when they themselves have been notoriously unreliable. Bitter and jealous as it gets.

If Fabinho joins us, MEN should be blacklisted
I also love their little racist dig at "foreign journos", like they wouldn't have a clue. Disgusting cowards.

Some fanboys are unhappy about that and are trying to make it happen, citing certain sections of the foreign media.

Di Marzio might be wrong, all he's said was that a bid went in. that isn't saying it's done. However MEN should be blacklisted just for the substance of their post.

The Fabinho situation explained
Twice this week the Monaco midfielder has spoken about the possibility of joining United, calling it ‘tempting’ and even being asked about his squad number on Brazilian television.

It’s a desperate tactic but it excites the online community. Fabinho is particularly popular among United fanboys who want the club to sign him as their defensive midfielder. He is ranking high on Google Trends and would be a quality addition and he’s also capable of playing at right-back, which would ease the workload on Antonio Valencia. Fabinho also briefly played for Mourinho at Real Madrid.

Here’s a pertinent question: If United had submitted an offer for Fabinho (they haven’t), why would Fabinho talk as if Monaco hadn’t received one? Answer: Because Monaco haven’t received one.

What’s mad is, in modern football, some fanboys don’t just cheer on players but they also cheer on ‘transfer gurus’ transfer ‘specialists’.

The likelihood is intermediaries and agents are fabricating or exaggerating interest to smoke out an actual bidder.
Shit article. Hope this is just another case of MEN being uninformed and clueless.

Strangest article I've read in a long time, I mean what kind of journo starts a paragraph with, "What's mad is" and talks about "fanboys".

Bizarre.

In fairness, this is not an article - it's part of their transfer gossip live section of their website, where current rumours/stories are commented upon. That probably explains the less-than-formal language, which is in keeping with everything else on there.

It reads like he is a really frustrated Caf poster nobody on here listens to. I bet everyone pining for Di Marzio news yesterday pushed him over the edge.

That sentence is written in the form of 10 year old. There is no other explanation. "What's mad is,"

Di Marzio has a stellar record when one of the parties involved are Italian, but for the rest he's a bit hit and miss, like everybody else.

what has he been miss on? genuinely asking because from what i've seen his record has been impeccable, often when he/his associates don't know something they'll flat out say "we don't know/haven't gotten any updates on that since"

Its Luckhurst. He attacked the club for being late to either West Ham or Spurs the other season, saying we should have been fined or worse.

I do agree with what he said about the Fabinho quotes though, but after what happened the other season I don't pay any attention to Luckhurst and would be ideal if he'd stop getting publicity in my opinion.

Not even joking I genuinely thought that was a parody article written by one of you lot when I read "fanboy".

A quick google search will return numerous misses. They all get fed half-truths and lies by numerous agents and intermediaries - it should be no surprise they get things wrong.

Fabinho will the the second most annoying to play against after Herrera. Good times.

What a copout by you. Someone asks of examples of misses and your response is "just search Google"? You are the one saying how shite Di Marzio, so back it up with legitimate evidence not "go look for yourself"

Signing apart that is an utter gash article. Who the feck on the editorial managment sanctioned the release of that?? It reads like a bitter or dipper wrote it.

Would be glorious to rub it in their faces

"This is true"
"No it isn't"
"Prove it"
"No, you go research it and prove yourself wrong"

He's not shite, he's hit and miss like everyone else.

Done deal/very close: Falcao to City from Monaco, Alves to PSG from Barca, Gaitan to United from Benfica, Sanches to United from Benfica, Aubameyang to City from Dortmund.

United's interest/strong interest in: Benteke, Benatia, Handanovic, Manolas.

One of his (Di Marzio) staff reported today that talks are ongoing.

Secondly, you're absolutely right re: bidding and not getting him. However MEN are flat out stating no bid and insulting anyone that is saying anything different.
Okay.

On the latter point, if the MEN have been told that by someone reliable - and I think we have to assume that's the case given the way this story has progressed - or even the club themselves, off the record, then obviously they'll take the position that no bid has been made. I think it'd be weird if a professional journo didn't take the word of a trusted source(s) because Di Marzio from the internet says otherwise. They are presumably not nearly so in thrall to him as the average internet transfer junkie. Of course, those could be the exact reasons the MEN will end up with egg on their faces on this one.
