FA Premier League - 19/04/25 to 23/04/25

Rodgers is just a bit raw isn't he, very physical, does some excellent stuff, but is just a little erratic with his touch.

Great pass there, Rash could have done better, not easy though.

Agreed on Rogers. He's definitely a talent but I feel he does a bit too much at times, too.

Historically a foul in the box had to be a bit more than what would be given outside it. It was one of those accepted realities of the sport. VAR changes that, everything looks a foul in slow motion, so it feels like we are getting a disproportionate amount of soft pens, or soft pens getting called nailed on.

Now, strong chance I am wrong and pens since VAR are not actually up.

Ultimately, no fun being a defender these days
But this is totally different case of what you are saying (´soft or not soft´). This type of stonewaller has been consistently called since forever.

Fella in full pelt, has control of the ball and can finish - defencer runs across and hit his leg. Villa player is put off balance.
Even slight touch in that situation empeeds you to to point that even if you tried to continue your run you would not be able to finish properly if at all.
And it wasnt even "soft touch" but rather hit not far of dead leg injury.

Pawson bottled it twice - by not calling peno, then not sending off Ped for his second mad outburst against referees right after he got yellow.

Yes, watching it again it does look a lot clearer, misread it to start with.

Can't see City mounting a title challenge next season with this squad. Looks like it needs another 150m+ spent on it (and no point deductions).

So many empty seats behind that goal. I guess it's only fun when you're first.

On paper this screamed a cracker of a game, but yet again another boring game from the Premier League.

Struggling to watch anyone outside of United these days, and we are shocking.

Think they could break records this summer. They spent 180m in January and nobody took any notice

How did this Villa side beat Newcastle so convincingly, they havent looked anything special at all tonight?
That was at home this is away. Also, teams fluctuate in form, especially at the end of a long season.

They’ve been shite Villa they deserve to lose

Disasi is fecking shocking

The fixture lists for City and Forest are handy enough. Newcastles spot is the one up for grabs. Although they might be aided by Arsenal resting players.
