FA Cup Final: United v City

I hope their 2nd keeper get nervous and starts making Karius type of mistakes.

The only thing that’s making me confident is having Varane and Casemiro who are born winners. I hope they’ve rallied the team on this week and got them in the right mind set. I like the fact Varane said he isn’t scared of haaland. I hope he doesn’t make him eat his words.
Varane doesnt have any reason to be afraid of Haaland. I reckon defending against peak Messi multiple times a year is much scarier.

But Messi did feck Madrid with impressive regularity so it's not like Varane can go back to that as a success story.

DDG
AWB Varane Lindelof Shaw
Casemiro Eriksen
Bruno Fred Sancho
Rashford

I'd personally switch Fred and Eriksen, but ETH usually likes Fred higher when Bruno is wide.

Backs to the wall and hoping Rashford latches onto a long ball

Fancy us for a few reasons.

1. our last game of the season. Potentially just 120 minutes left so run yourself into the ground and take a big fat holiday.
2. City will have one eye on the CL final. Players won’t want to get injured or fatigued and miss out. Expecting a slight lack of fight from them, especially in the second half.
3. Pep will do something mental as a surprise and it will backfire, at least in the first 20 minutes.
4. Couple of players playing their last game for United will want to go out with a bang, expecting a lot of our lads to run through walls today.
5. Keep Grealish and KDB quiet and they have no outlet.
6. Their form against the top 4 this season away from home is terrible.
7. They’ve finished the season with a whimper and look beatable.
8. Grealish will have at least two beers in him by the time kick off comes around.

This is a good read and making me hopeful. Ty

The quality of our bench, with the all the injuries to attacking players, is a bit of a worry. If City doesn't take firm control of this, it'll be a tight game. Assuming we're starting with Garnacho, Rashford and Sancho, there'll come a point where probably two of them will need to be subbed - and all we have on the bench is Weghorst, Pellistri and Elanga. If we go into extra time with that, it won't be nice. Possibly Bruno could be shifted to the right and Fred brought on (or Eriksen, if Fred starts). But other than that, we'll decline through substitutions, which City won't.

4-4-2 Diamond, Casemiro, Fred,Eriksen and Bruno in narrow midfield , CF to play Wide, Rashford and Sancho.

Rashford to play cheat game and stay on halfway line for whole game, aim is to keep compact defending to soak up pressure and when nick the ball back, one of Casemiro, Eriksen or Bruno have it in their locker to play 1st time pass direct up to Rashford in the hope he gets in a 1 on 1 situation.

We done it in 1st half at Old Trafford in Jan where we seen joy at Rashford and Martial getting in few times.

Come on Utd. Nerves setting in now.

I dunno. Messi seems to be all over the pitch so Varane will have more help defending against him. Haaland will just be on top of both defenders.

We literally have nothing to lose. Hope we give it a good go. As long as we put on a display worthy of this great club, I can live with the results.

The way to beat City is straight through the middle of them with quick passes from the back. Did anyone not notice this against Madrid? They leave gapping holes behind their midfield at times where they are so desperate to keep the pressure up.

I fancy us in this because we can throw everything at it. Get a few hard tackles in early and remind their players they don't want to get injured for the CL final.
We need to get into their heads, a few studs down Haalands shin pads, a few tweaks of Grealishs hairband and whisper in Walkers ear that John Terry is banging his Mrs and we're golden.

Come on United!!!!!

Surely it’s gonna be Fred and Casemiro today? That’s how we won at OT. If eriksen starts we will just get over ran and destroyed.

We've scored 5 penalties, 1 from corners and 1 direct free (can't remember what) Surely we're due something today. That record is fecking ridiculous.

Just Great to be in the cup final again so let's enjoy it whatever the outcome.I do think it'll come down to the tactical battle between the managers so let's see what we've got.COME ON UTD.

Can't claim I'm confident of a win, but I don't think City will molest us. It could be a one-goal affair.

Should we adopt Ole's 7-3-0 tactics? He seemed to do reasonably well against them but then again it might be a bit much to completely change the formation for one game.

Hey guys I dunno if there’s a dedicated thread for this, but does anyone know a place in Barcelona where I can watch the game? Preferably more red crowd than blue. Cheers!

Nervous as feck. We have to stop their treble. Hope the players show up and not shat their pants. I think the first goal will be critical to settle the nerves and importantly not to concede early. The longer we stay in the game at 0-0, the higher I fancy our chances.

May sound odd but I want us to win just because of the trophy, don't care much what they win. Different than with Liverpool.

Had a dream haaland scored in the 6th minute, then we scored in the 10th.... then I don't remember anything else. Let's see if it happens
