FA Cup 2023/24

Watching Sunderland-Newcastle and what is really obvious is the gulf in quality between Premier League and Championship teams has never been as big.

Gosh, commentators praising Newcastle (& all their players) to the high heavens for just about anything and everything

It just comes across as forced and unnatural. We're being told that they're amazing and passionate, but what they're saying and what we're actually seeing are two very different things.

I understand that a player caring about the shirt and geeing up away support might seem a foreign idea to a man utd fan but i can assure you it's a normal and good thing.
There was nothing performative about it all. The guy was simply buzzing over conceding a goal kick.

Did the commentary seriously just sneak in "they took over the capital" when referring to the Carabou Cup final?

This is why some of these players are in the championship, what was the need to do that?

Yeah there really are vast differences between how some clubs are portrayed and/or reported on in the media, versus others.

Ballard is an even worse version of pre-surprising resurgence Harry Maguire. Complete oaf.

Stupid tackle and clear penalty, but Gordon is a diving shit with his fifteen rolls each time he is tackled.

Horrific comedy og from Brighton. Not sure how he messed that up so badly - it wasn't the paciest of crosses.

Horrible handball call, wtf is the defender supposed to do ?
Kinda harsh in that the ball is played quite close to him, but he does scoop it out of danger with his arm. I think a pen is fair.

He was looking at the opposite, the ball rebounded on him, he made no movement towards it. Them rules are crazy
Yeah I'm not sure whether the 'unnatural position' argument overrides it being accidental. It's all a mess but probably won't matter now.

When they were writing up these laws, I'm sure pretty sure the natural or unnatural position of the hand was never taken into account when it comes to a player in the air

Ye I didn’t realise he was only 22 aswell. There recruitment is top.
Tbf Pedro was a massive signing by Watford and was extremely highly rated in Brazil. Watford's relegation and then not being able to get immediately promoted allowed Brighton to sign him much cheaper than his value.

He wasn't top of the scoring charts for Watford but that's because he functions better a bit deeper than as a focal point. He's going to be a top player.

Villa play so dangerously with high line. So easy to get in behind them
