FA Cup 2023/24

Quensah clearly spends a lot of time with Matip. He makes the same unexpected adventurous runs that can break down a defense.

This is a season where we’re watching 2 of our fiercest rivals compete for all competitions

At around 35 minutes in I was thinking we needed to change our shape. Gomez was struggling at RB and leaving so much space for United to exploit on that side.

Also think United have a problem in midfield. We’re finding a lot of space to bring the ball in to their half. United the better side but looking vulnerable when we have the ball around their box.

Don't see a world where both Bruno and McTominay can coexist in a functional midfield unless you have a top class fullback moving centrally to make up the numbers.

Feels like Liverpool will end up with about 40 shots at goal at end of this match. Their end to end transitions are just too much for Man. United to keep up with.

This ball retention is absolutely horrific. Its like watching us at OT

We should’ve killed this in the second half. Let United back in and now they look more likely.

Can hardly keep the ball. Still Man. United got a front 4 + Eriksen-Bruno as the CMs so you should be running through them a bit. Gravenberch if he's actually fit wouldn't be a bad sub at this point the way the game has swung towards the end.

We had a few minutes of sustained pressure but over 30mn, Liv have higher quality on the field and will probably edge it. It was the Rashford chance that needed to be buried.

It feels like it’s going to go United’s way now. Serves us right for being so wasteful.

Diaz sums you up a bit. Takes so many touches on the ball when in space or counter attack. Gave it away needlessly and Man. United get a corner five seconds later. They're doing to you now what you've been doing to them for 90% of the game.

For all the pressure, we had quite a higher xg after 90, I was quite surprised. Still think you'll edge it.
Yeah saw that. That Rashford chance must be worth a fair bit. Same with the McTominay one Kelleher saved.

Yeah Rashford chance was the difference.

And Rashford scores. Deserved really. They've been the better team at this point

Why he gave a free kick to liverpool?!?!?! Who the feck is this ref???

Shocker by Nunez.

Salah is going to be near impossible to replace when he goes. Liverpool just don't have the same aura in final third without him there.

Gakpo is an incredibly average player for this level and Nunez still far too erratic.

Well at least I don’t have to sit through penalties. Serves us right for not killing it off when we were on top in the second half.

Deserved too. Where is this United every week.
The application and effort even they'd not won it at the death was amazing. McTominay running through walls today.

Yeah agreed. We deserve to get knocked out. And Utd deserve to go through. Brave.
