Come on dude, no need for that.
I mean, Germany already had Trabant, give them some credit.
The engine is not the problem. The car is just a bit of a dog and they've clearly fecked up the desing. The engine is probably what's keeping them from being a bottom half team right now.The engine is the biggest thing for me. Since 2014 they were streets ahead of everyone in the engine department. 2014-2016 was a write off for anyone not Mercedes powered. Ferrari caught up in 2017 with a 'suspect' engine. Only Red Bull with Honda, were able to compete in 2021, and even then the Mercedes engine was still dominant by the end of the season. Now we are finally seeing other engine manufactures catch up.
These hybrid engines, in my opinion, have been terrible for F1. They are so expensive to make and it gave Mercedes such a sustained advantage that lasted 8 years. Mercedes undoubtably deserve to be recognised as one of the best teams in the history of F1, but I do believe a large part of their dominance was due to everyone playing catch up. Some of the reported numbers on how much Mercedes spent in preparation for the Hybrid Era are astronomical.
What's everyone thinking about Mick's chances of racing today?
I dont see kmag lasting the entire race either. He said he didnt have required neck fitness for the g forces around the track and was barely holding on in qually. 50 odd laps might just be too much for his neck. They've already announced he isn't, HAAS are running one car
The one saving grace will be it won't be 50 laps in one go. Plenty of red flags and safety car periods etc to rest a bit.I dont see kmag lasting the entire race either. Interesting to see how Verstappen handles trailing LEC with 26 points already, if he risks it all at the start today and retires he could be 50 points behind after today and pretty much game over. Thats one of the most interesting things to watch this season, can Verstappen play the long game?
It wouldn't be game over yet. The season just started, plenty of more races to come.Interesting to see how Verstappen handles trailing LEC with 26 points already, if he risks it all at the start today and retires he could be 50 points behind after today and pretty much game over. Tbf, might be redbulls solution too over the season if last weekend is anything to go bythe main problem for mercedes is their engine. there are a lot of wannabe engineers thinking they know what they talking about with their purposing and airo mumbo jimbo but the real reason russell and hamilton’s heads are bobbing up and down on the straights is that they’re having to fred flintstone their car to try and get any speed up. it’s just their heads bobbing as a result of their running. you try and run fast whilst keeping the top half of your body completely still. it’s impossible.

We are all interested to see how he does. His lack of maturity and patience could see him make some mistakes. Both will come with experience though.Interesting to see how Verstappen handles trailing LEC with 26 points already, if he risks it all at the start today and retires he could be 50 points behind after today and pretty much game over. Alot depends on whether they take the penalties to re-do his car setup andnbreak parc fermme rules. Which i think they should. Not much difference between starting 16th in a car with a bad setup and dead last in a car with a better setup. In the Channel 4 highlights Lewis did say his side tried to gamble on some changes and it went wrong. Seems like he could've been around where Russell was if they just left it.
Will be an interesting aside from the main action up front to see if Lewis in this Merc can at least get some slipstream passing done and get to 5th-8th or not.
He will have to start from the pits undo whatever they have done to the car, there's no point in going out with the same car from yesterday. Starting from pits is probably safer to do so at track if you are starting from the back to avoid getting getting tangled up with other cars driving straight into another accident.Alot depends on whether they take the penalties to re-do his car setup andnbreak parc fermme rules. What time is the race guys ?
Lovely, cheers.6pm - it tells you in a banner at the top of the official website https://www.formula1.com
UX-wise that's actually well done. It displays how much time is remaining rather than the actual time of start. Which would confuse lots of people because of timezones.6pm - it tells you in a banner at the top of the official website https://www.formula1.com
Hadnt looked at the schedule before but this is a shambles. Should have kept it similar to last year. They really haven't bothered their arses making any effort to redcue the travel burden on the teams never mind the collated carbon footprint of the sport.
From Saudi to Oz back to Italy then the USA then back to Spain then from Monaco to Azerbaijan then back to Canada and lots more needless air miles and expense....The schedule is terrible.

thats not a good schedule, think they have more that one pit crew and the European leg is don with trucks I think , but you are right does nothing to help the Carbon foot print and cost. They really haven't bothered their arses making any effort to redcue the travel burden on the teams never mind the collated carbon footprint of the sport.

Miss the days when drivers could go and get the spare car. His dad is the last time I remember a driver running back for one.
