F1 2022 Season

That car was broken like I have never seen another, it was in 3 bits
it’s supposed to break apart to dissipate the energy and not send it through the driver - but that just shows the energy the impact was. I bet that was something like 70-80g force crash. He’s going to be pretty banged up bless him

Everything about this race feels wrong. Dangerous venue, concrete walls, hope they drop it for next year.
same here. the war is a convenient excuse to try and break the contract but I can’t see it being easy with the saudis.

If they want a GP they should build a proper purpose built track.

How equipped is the medical centre? Thought they'd have taken him straight to hospital. Hopefully that means it's not too serious?

They're building one. I don't think they should race in KSA to begin with, but agree that they should have just waited for the proper track to be finished in a few years.

Big crash that. Hopefully that’s it for accidents now but this does feel like a dangerous track. Sounds like Mick isn’t too bad from the snippets of information we’re being given.

Alex Albion told SkyF1 that the tyres are really hard to switch on and can suddenly drop off unexpectedly. That might explain both crashes

Can Haas bring in another driver if they can fix the car? I presume not as it wasn't that driver who set his qualifying time?

I doubt the doctors will let him race after an impact like that

Nah the crash was just him getting it wrong through the chicane and riding over the kerb.

Not sure... I think not as quali had started so don't think they can bring in a reserve from the back of the grid... Not sure if they even have a spare car because they ain't fixing that overnight

He's gone straight into concrete there, why on earth do they not have any form of true crash barriers around a fast chicane where the likelihood of a car loosing it is high. Mental.

No way they can fix that, it can't be safe to drive.

Funny how some speculate in the car being fixed for tomorrow. It’s literally broken in pieces and carbon fibre is lying around everywhere, it’s a total damage and we can only imagine how the engine/parts look. This car is no longer a car.

Any chance of Bridgestone or Michelin making a return to F1, these Pirelli’s have been an on going problem since they came
 the tyres are doing exactly what f1 asked them to do. Pirelli just make what's requested. Changing supplier would do nothing.

I think sometimes it's a lack of understanding in machining and carbon layup and how items can takes 10s of hours of machine time to create, assuming they don't have spares of every item.

Interesting side by side with George and Lewis. Hamilton looks like he's being a lot safer and more cautious, George much nearer the barrier though I don't blame him if it's not great to handle

Seems like Mclaren made a mistake with sending Lando out early again.

He cleaned the track up for the others to follow, everybody else improved :(

Imagine going at those speeds on this track and not having any tyre grip.

what a lap by perez! out of the bag there
