F1 2019 season

How's Alfa get 30+ seconds? For what?

I have no idea what any of that means , would it have given them that much of an advantage ?

Not hugely, in a wet weather start, possibly. They have a parameter window they need to set the clutch torque for at the start, and they were outside of it. The usual penalty is a 10 second stop & go, hence the 30 seconds post race.

A great race for all the wrong reasons, some really poor strategy calls all over the show today. Merc's imploded on their home territory - and Netflix had it all on camera this weekend (Mercedes were the focus for the German GP in their schedule). Can't wait to watch that next season.

So why is Hockenheim off the calendar next season? Is it money?

A shame because it's a fantastic circuit and the fans were great. feck that French monstrosity off instead!

It's always money, Hockenheim should be protected on the calendar and it always provides a decent race wet or dry.

Looking forward to Qualifying in a couple of hours. Love the narrow, twisty circuit of the Hungaroring. Predicting Lewis, Max front row.

I remember Santi saying he was planning to go to this one IIRC. Hi Santi!

Out in Q1
Russell, Perez, Ricciardo, Stroll, Kubica

But so, so close for George Russell - he missed out by five one hundreths of a second from his first-ever Q2 appearance. But what a performance given his machinery!

Looking like Max's first pole going by those soft runs at the end of Q2.

Wow, where have Redbull come from. Unbelievable. All this talk of Ferrari Vs Merc and Redbull come from nowhere and are showing Ferrari how its done.

Speaking of RB, Gasly really needs to be replace. They will challenge Ferrari more closely if not for his mediocre first half season.

Max has been talking a lot since last weekend and he followed it up with the walk today. Fair play. I hope he can complete it and win tomorrow

Surprised Bottas got so close in the end, another dodgy quali for Lewis though... Wonder if his DRS was playing up, nowhere in S1 on both runs.

RB have Max which on ascending form since 2018's summer break tbh. He is really flying now.

Which is why I put him in my fantasy team this week:cool:

He's basically driving like a Champion and has been for quite some time. He and Lewis are basically operating on the same level.

Gasly's performance is simply not good enough. Even though Max is probably the best driver on the grid right now, there's no excuse for being almost a second down. They should get in somewhat like Hulkenberg or Kvyat to be a solid number two. Hoping Max can convert the pole to a win tomorrow. Want there to be some drama along the way though of course.

Hope Max can get the Red Bull off the start line properly this time, they've struggled a few times recently.

Expecting a close race without overtaking?

Great shout, theres video of it not opening out of the final corner at the end of his final lap so looks like that was the problem.

It's going to be interesting to see the Mercs having to catch Max from the start. Shame the break is coming up just when it's getting interesting.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Max lead from Starr to finish. He's shown he can lead from the front with the best of them, although I appreciate he hasn't done it from Pole.
