That race was fecking amazing.
Not often you have all podium finishers delighted with their result. And Stroll in 4th too. Gutted as a Hamilton fan, but great race.

I did say after Q1 that you could not rule out Seb but he would need rain and SC, this race proves he still has it.
Mercedes only have themselves to blame , they gambled on softs and he did not pay off Lewis spun and got the penalty.
Race of the season , best race for a long time.

Just me that thinks Vettel was actually quite poor in this race? Seems like he was just poodling around and then took advantage of the last safety car and car advantage to get 2nd. I mean you make your own luck but it wasn’t an epic come back really.
Fair play to Max he managed to keep his head while all around him were losing theirs. Deserved win.
Gutted for Lewis but you have to roll with the punches. At least there's another race next week to put things right. It would not have been good going into the summer break on the back of that.

I don't think Vettel made a single mistake in this race, whereas nearly everyone else did. That in itself is pretty amazing.
It wasnt an epic drive through the field but he was one of only a couple of drivers to not make any big errors. Leclerc, Bottas and Hamilton all hit the barriers while Vettel pushed when he could and kept it clean when others didnt.
Nonsense.
He made up loads of places at the start. Clearly then dealt with car problems in the middle part of the race. Kept it together on slicks when virtually no one else did.
It wasn’t a drive of a lifetime, sure, but it was a very good drive especially when you consider his circumstances the last year and opportunity to make mistakes was rife.
Quite the opposite for me , he saw the condition and held back to see what would happen and took his chance when it came.
Made up what 8 places in the first lap and a half, epic drive and driver of the day for me.
Just goes to show that Lewis does make mistakes. I remember arguing a while back that he normally doesn’t need to push and hence doesn’t make many mistakes.
But what a race, gripping from start to finish. Gutted for Lclerc. Vettel with hopefully a confidence boosting comeback.
Verstappen once again proves that he is going to be a future champion. Yes, he got a bit lucky as well, with that spin and the others crashing around him. But you just know he’s got everything in his locker to be a champion.

He was well on course to overtake three of the four cars ahead of him even before the last SC, he was that much quicker. Really glad for him. The guy deserves some luck after some real horror shows from Ferrari.
Really enjoyed the race. Not the boring monotonous Merc domination. All races should be wet races, only then will we see some exciting racing.

Crazy stuff, very enjoyable
To be fair I had to watch this without sound and a million children in front of me. He obviously came alive at the end and kept his nose clean which is more than can be said for most.
Still I agree with Brundle, until then he was struggling to get the car switched on but when he did he put them away.

What a great race (That's three in a row now). Pleased for Kvyat and Vettel. Hamilton dominated for ages then screwed up at the exact worst moment and then the Merc strategists went to pieces - was pretty funny. Verstappen did alright but basically inherited the win by being the least bad of the top drivers and having his spin in a place of little consequence. I think Vettel's the only guy that didn't screw up in any fashion - magic drive by him just for not doing anything wrong.

Fantastic race today! I knew we were in for a good one when I tuned in and saw that it would be raining but I would have never predicted anything THAT good. Nicce to see some new people in the ix at the top for a change. Must admit I was slight gutted for Le Clerc and Hulkenberg and their endings. What a response by Seb to make it to second though from where he started, and Kvyat well... it's like night and day to the driver we saw a few years ago. I feel it's just a matter of time before he's back in that Red Bull. Wish we could have seen a McClaren on the podium, Sainz was looking good for a while.
What was that today with a "team fine" for Leclerc unsafe release. Verstappen got a 5 second penalty and was robbed of a podium for identical thing in Monaco just two months ago.
