F1 2019 season

It’s a weird one that, if you watch it from the tv cam it looks fine but onboard with max it’s naughty.

I don’t think they will penalise it.

That will be ridiculous if it's allowed to stand. Since when it's OK to push driver out of track? Plenty of room to turn into.

Even as a Ferrari fan, I hope Max keeps the victory. feck me, he is relentless, reminds me Schumacher. A really special talent. Gonna say it again, for me he is the fastest driver on the grid, been thinking that since late 2017. Swap him with Bottas.

All the drivers have a big chip on their shoulder. They all moan.....

On another subject, LeClerc is talented but it remains to be seen how mentally strong he is. Max has that in spades and it sets him a part. Will be interesting to see how their careers pan out.

it is naugthy, he oppened his steering wheel and pushed Charles of the track. He should be penalized.

and it was definitly intentional, if he didn't do that, Charles would have got him on the straigth like he did the lap before, and Max probably knew it. He didn't try to deny it anyway, he just said that it was hard racing.

I don't agree with Vettel's Penalty, i don't agree with this penalty if it's given. But there has to be some consistency.

Tough call to make of course but it really shouldn't have taken them this long to decide, would have been all sorted by the time they stepped out on to the podium in an ideal world.

What a drive by Max, deserved that win but let's be honest, he drove Leclerc off the track, he went way deep and could of easily turned that corner a lot sooner. But that's the type of racing this sport and the fans deserve.

sorry for Leclerc, but great drive from Verstappen.

Stewards correct for once.
Would love to see Norris in a Ferrari alongside Leclerc.
Great race,

Jesus feck im a Ferrari fan and there was nothing wrong with what Max did. Rubbing is racing and opening the steering wheel up mid corner is one of the oldest moves in the sport. Watch schumacher put on a masterclass of passing at Brazil in 2006. He pretty much did it to every single driver. Its an easy way to not only make the pass, but ensure their exit is stuffed as well for the attempt at re-overtake.

Its ridiculous that we live in an era that it warranted investigation...

Also Charles is yet to win a GP, of course he's going to be nervous.

First year in a competitive car and in the big time. He's got the natural speed, the rest will follow.

These days Seb seems to do better when he's a few places down. He can't seem to handle being the race leader or favourite.

I just finished rewatching Drive to Survive and it's interesting seeing how Haas and Racing Point/Force India seem to have gone backwards. McClaren have done a solid job of fighting back up to challenge Renault as the next best from the big three. Had they not had those car problems earlier they would be in a very good position.

McLaren make early announcement to retain impressive paring for next year; Norris earns second year of F1 after just nine races of his impressive rookie season

I'd be made up if Norris can start challenging in a Mclaren. Shadows of Lewis back in the day. Daren't dream, but optimistic!

You don't go into a corner with Max and expect him to give you space, his inexperience showed today.

That's bullshit. Max is a great driver and most drivers staying away from him is a compliment, but also shows that he is dangerous. By definition, you are supposed to leave space.

Same. Got a feeling McLaren will do this weekend. They’ve got very impressive high corner speeds and seem one of the few teams that have just about got on top of the tricky tyres this weekend. Could be interesting given they’ve resurfaced the Silverstone again.

Cheeky wee podium bet this weekend I think!

Anyone listen to F1 podcasts?

I listen to the following:

Checkered Flag Podcast (BBC 5 Live) - pretty decent for a quick preview, recap of qualifying and the race. Jolyon Palmer is good on it, Jack Nichols can grate at times.

Formula 1 Podcast (3 Legs 4 Wheels) - weekly indie podcast by 4 dudes from the Isle of Man. A less serious/polished podcast but good fun with decent insights.

Parc Fermé Podcast - US based weekly podcast. Good insights, particularly like the pre/post race analysis from Brit ex-racing driver Paul Charlsey and his track talks. The fortnightly ‘news’ update with Grace can be a bit of a struggle to listen through sometimes though.

F1: Beyond the Grid - new to me. Tom Clarkson interviews an F1 figure weekly from both past & present. Really interesting, particularly some of the older engineers/team bosses which fill in gaps in my F1 history knowledge. Would definitely recommend if you’re into the ‘behind the scenes’ aspect of F1. Some of the tales are cracking.

Anyone got others they’d recommend?

So Sky just broke British GP staying on F1 calendar until 2024 at Silverstone 5-year contract signed ahead of this weekend's race.

Beyond the Grid is good. Really like how Tom Clarkson conduct his interview. I want to hear Hakkinen if possible.

I enjoy Beyond Victory with Nico Rosberg, there aren't many but I enjoyed them.
