F1 2019 season

Has he got a shot at overtaking Schumacher's 7 titles?
Yeah, new regulations are coming in 2021 and that's normally results in a shake-up of the order but if he wins this year and next with the current regulations, he'll only need one when we have that shift. No idea if Mercedes will be this dominant after that but with Hamilton's skill and experience, they just need to be competitive and he'll have a shot.

The 91 wins will likely go next season as well which is astonishing. Wouldn't be shocked if he leaves F1 with over 100 wins and he'll almost certainly get over 100 poles.

Final qualifying session and last chance for Alonso to qualify for the Indy 500 tomorrow. Not looking good for Mclaren. Struggled massively yesterday.

It's such a good story, delighted for the lad.

On the flip side McLaren now failing in Indy too, just a dumpster fire of a team.

McLaren has wasted Alonso's last years of his driving career.
Obviously his fault for choosing them but he really went out on a whimper. Will he try Indianapolis again next year?

Yeah, what a man he was. I watched the movie about him and James Hunt and was quite impressed.

This man should have died in that accident at the Nurburgring 42 years ago. To be able to recover, win 3 more world titles and live till the age of 70... Incredible.

A true legend of the Sport.

If you haven't seen it, go watch Rush. A great movie and while obviously made for entertainment, a great capture of the relationship between these two.

Agreed Rush is a fantastic film.

RIP. Amazing legend. I agree with those that complimented Rush, captured the relationship he had with James Hunt and his relationship with motoring beautifully.

RIP Legend. A true legend and his undying love for this motorsport was remarkable.
Merc will have more reason to clean sweep this season.

RIP Nikki. What a loss for the sport and the world ahead of the grandest race of the calendar too. Everyone can learn lessons from how he dealt with adversity. And all posters in here will be grateful for how he shaped this wonderful sport.

Will definitely be watching Rush this week now.

A true legend of the sport, Niki was a gift to Formula 1.

Going to miss seeing that red hat and his no bullshit approach.

RiP. Even if i dont watch Formula 1 often nowadays, he was the star of it growing up and one of the reasons i liked watching it to hear his opinions

RIP to Nikki Lauda.

He had a hell of a life. Will never be forgotten.

Not the first bad decision Alonso has made. Do not care anymore about the plonker.

Vettel crashed at Turn 1 in FP3. Front left heavily damaged, might struggle to even make qualifying. Meanwhile Leclerc is under investigation for a possible infringement under VSC. Bad start for Ferrari this weekend.

He will make Q1 I think.
As for Leclerc , Sky saying this has never happened before so no precedent for punishment, they think just a reprimand.

Leclerc out in Q1. Wasn't even on the track when the chequered flag was waved. Vettel lucky to get through as well. What is going on at Ferrari?

United and Ferrari competing in the most incompetent big sport franchise trophy. Oh well, let’s hope Vettel can get in to at least the top 3. Don’t think he will, but let’s hope.

a few Monaco facts for you.
Shortest Grand Prix track
Just 3.340 kilometres long, the Monaco Grand Prix has the shortest track on the F1 calendar. However, it makes up for this in number of laps – its 78 are the most of any circuit.

Two months of setting up
The Monaco Grand Prix requires around six weeks to set up the track before the race and three weeks to remove it afterwards.

Mediterranean crashes
Quite surprisingly, only two cars have ever ended up in the Mediterranean from a Monaco Grand Prix. Alberto Ascari and Paul Hawkins were the two drivers who had their backs to the race track as they crashed into the sea.

and the reason why Monaco is the race to win for all drivers.

Triple Crown of Motorsport
The Monaco Grand Prix is part of the Triple Crown of Motorsport achievement. Along with the Indianapolis 500 and 24 Hours of Le Mans, it is one of the world’s three most prestigious motor races that a driver can hope to win in their career.

I paid 50 euros to watch Friday practice at Tabac last year. I noticed that there are tons of vacant seats around the swimming pool section and I'm assuming it's because the seat prices are fecking ridiculous. Summat like 600 euros just to watch quali.

It's an amazing place to be on GP weekend though. Incredible buzz about the place.

I would love to go, but yes the cost is massive.
