This thread a little bit lonely without Santi. Is he gone for good?
quite a gap between 1 and 4th , but I expect that to be a lot closer come the end of Q3
he is back , sure he will be here for the race.
Q1 of F1 race 1000 about to start.
Ferrari have more power on the straights but they are losing there advantage and more in the corners.
Have to feel a bit sorry for Kubica , 1st season back and he has a dog of a car.
Leclerc is miles of the pace in Q1 has to come out again.
and on a new set of softs he bang in second fastest behind Bottas.
Out in Q1: Stroll, Russell, Kubica, Giovinazzi and Albon who did not come out.
Merc's, Ferrari and Max start Q2 on the med tyres.
First timed lap in Q2 and Bottas is 9/10th faster then Lewis, both Ferrari's 5/10th down
Lewis goes P1 in Q2.
Out in Q2: Kvyat, Perez, Raikkonen, Sainz, Norris
Ugh. Looking like another 1-2 for Merc.
Lewis and Bottas , half a second ahead of Seb and Leclerc after Q2.
Lewis sure found some speed at the end of Q2.
Looks like Ferrari trade their pace with reliability this time.

So close between the Mercedes in the end. I thought Lewis was gonna snatch it right at the end, but couldn't improve in S3. Ferraris were only 0.3 down from Mercedes in the end, they were closer than it seemed for this weekend.
I hope Max doing something interesting tomorrow after start

Jeez, Bottas was like a man possessed. He was pushing like crazy even in Q1..

Max was not happy, as a host of cars passed him at the hairpin on his preparation lap.
First Vettel went by and then the Renaults and he actually hurt Pierre Gasly's lap as well.

Expected China to be Ferrari's track. Not looking good. If the Mercedes are going to be dominant this year, I hope Bottas will give Lewis a run for his money.
That's likely my fantasy team done. Rolled the dice and went vettel, le clerc, Ferrari. Ouch!

apparently Lewis is the only one of the top 6 without a new set of mediums , but does have a new set of softs.
Doesnt it sound like a bit of gamble without a fresh set of medium here?
I think so yes , the softs dont last very long on this track , I think about 10 laps.
track is cold and windy, could cause some problems getting heat in the rubber.
