It's all easy sprinking stardust over this, but I would have told you 4-5 years ago Gago was a better player and he indefinitely was.
It depends on circumstance, the players ability to adapt and his drive. Gago was fecking amazing and it's a real shame his career went that way, he really had enough to go beyond what he's become, no matter if people quote and mock. Madrid just don't have a devotion to development.
Cirigliano is younger than what Gago was then, and perhaps slighlty less talented, but that isn't everything. Get him to the right club, under the right guidance and with a hunger and desire to prove himself, then we might just have a real player.
