Evra | (Soon to be Ex-)Pundit Thread | Patman Watch

Anyone who believes in baseless conspiracy theories should be kept well away from mainstream TV. Patrice Evra is one of my all time favourite United players, and I'm sure he's a great guy at heart, but he's also a fecking idiot and should face the sack for the nonsense he has been spewing recently.

He is of course a tit, but he's a loveable tit. And he's our tit.

I disagree completely with his covid position, and also don't see that it has anything to do with his role as a football pundit. More pushes for group think by the day

If evra telling a person to not get a vaccine leads to them not getting one, that is completely on the person who informs their health care on the opinion of retired footballers. If you disagree with him then get a vaccine. Other people's opinions, however stupid, shouldn't bother you so much if they're not affect something other than your outrage

What kind of take is that? People should be annoyed by objectively incorrect opinions, especially when they have real world ramifications. If you go around telling people not to get vaccinations, expect to get told you have a stupid opinion. If someone tells someone they’re an idiot for denying the Holocaust do you jump in to lambast them for their dangerous facilitation of “group think”?

Why are you all up in arms acting like he has confirmed the affair? He literally says "NOT TRUE" at the start? Feck me. It's like someone saying "It's not true that I killed my wife", you then quoting the "I killed my wife" part and getting outraged about it.

Then why in the world would he bring it up at all? If he wasn't confirming it, then he'd have said 'the rumours and issues' or something.

Evra is just very unintelligent. The covid conspiracies alone should have gotten him kicked off the telly so he couldn't spread that stuff through Sky, but God, how many incendiary comments will he make?

Where did Van Persie go? 100 times better.

You are all over the place.

In a perfect world, someone in the public eye wouldn't have any affect, but this isn't a perfect world. And if a single person listens to his bullshit, it's not just on them is it. It does affect other people.

Your "group think" comment says it all about how you really feel anyway. It's rather ironic.

That's not the same thing. His opinion is a stupid opinion. You can be annoyed by it. But he shouldn't lose his job for it.

No, I'm not. Patrice Evras nonsense is as readily available as scientific opinion and the constant advice from genuinely qualified people. It's fanciful to think in a world with millions of people in the public eye available at the tap of a button, there's not going to be an opinion that another large group of people will be offended by. Whats the aim? Police every expression? My point is simple, his covid opinion has nothing to do with his punditry, unless he's going on about it on sky. It's not illegal, and unfortunately he's not alone in his idiocy on the issue

In any case, I'm not getting drawn into a current affairs discussion or ideological one with you or @Cascarino so like Evras opinion, it's just something you'll have to cope with.

I don’t understand what he said wrong to be honest. He said Zaha was having a good preseason and then rumours came out about moyes daughter and he was gone.

Which is true isn’t it unless I misheard.

What Evra did wrong here is when he said "this true or untrue affair". He could have just confirmed it as false rather than making people think it could be a true news. If he only said "untrue affair" social medial wouldn't make it much big deal.

@prateik Again, I can’t find your OP, but having watched that video, I have to humbly apologise for my words. Didn’t help that adrenaline was running high after the horrid United game, but I ought to have done prior research.

It’s scary that someone can actually have that viewpoint. 2.5 minutes in and I had to switch off. Ridiculous. He is an idiot after all  God bless him.

He's just said he's getting calls asking him to ask Matt Judge to pick up his phone.. WTF? Something about us sending lawyers to conclude deals whereas no football brain is at the helm...

Just posted a really powerful and damning video on the club. 19 minutes long talking candidly about what he sees the problems are name dropping people who are letting the club down.

Can see this making big news I can't recall seeing someone connected to the club being as upfront as this.

Yes this will hit big, a lot of names mentioned, also could be paving the way for a role at the club... wouldn't mind him at all in a sporting director role

Really well spoken but he still backed Woodward and the Glazers. He’s saying we’re making so much money yet not spending it but at the same time saying Woodward is not the problem and his only downfall is trusting the wrong people, and that the Glazers love United so they’re fine too.

Our senior negotiator not answering his phone? Sounds like a pretty pathetic negotiation tactic. “They called me so they must be desperate”

This idiot believes in Covid conspiracy theories, tells people not to believe the news.
Says not to get vaccinated as it will kill you.
Is one of those 5G tower haters..

Calling him stupid is being very very kind.

So because he has a different opinion to yours he's a idiot . Ahh I see how this works .
I don't believe much that I see or dont see on the news does that also make me a idiot ?

He did say that Woodward listens too much from people outside the club. Wonder what that means. Is he being driven by agents? Is so it’s amazing how naive someone in that position is...

Do you believe covid conspiracy theories, vaccines will kill you and hate 5g? If so I've got some bad news for you pal.

Fraid so.

He's never going to critize the Glaziers and/or Woody because a) then he literally will never be able to work at the club again and b) he's pretty pally with Woody if i'm not mistaken? Still at least he's calling out some of the other cretins/practices that are occuring... it's something I suppose.

Because to bring this up will cause an inundation of sh!te and abuse to Zaha, Moyes and Moye's daughter. Football fans not know for their tact or enlightened views/behaviour.

Come on then open our minds.

Why does the news not show the daily torture and murder of the Palestinian people ? Israel is breaking every rule in the book yet our news channels choose not to show it .
There's one example to start with .

I hope the club sever all ties with him and he isnt allowed anywhere near OT.

The guy is delusional. Nothing he says is believable. Total bullshitter.

After that video, this is how I imagine us wrapping up a deal

You said you don't believe everything you see on the news and to back that up you are talking about things that aren't on the news.

What news stories that have featured do you think are lies.

I think if you actually read my post you will find that's not what I said

Here is your post.

I was referring to my earlier post . Look at the Israel Palestine situation. I've spent quite some time in the area and what the news protrays isn't anywhere near what is actually happening there .
The news chooses to show us the side that they want the world to see or like I previously stated they choose most of the time to completely ignore it .
The way the news channels in Amercia covered 9/11 and the USA wars is also far from the actual truth .
If anyone believes everything they see on the news is 100% spot on then you need open your eyes

There's a fairly good chance that in A. Glazers' case, Evra is projecting.

He did say that Woodward listens too much from people outside the club. Wonder what that means. Is he being driven by agents? Is so it’s amazing how naive someone in that position is...

To people who know what they're looking at, literally that right there shows how incompetent and narcissistic he is. Unfortunately, pretty much every football executive in the upper echelons is going to fall under 'people who know what they're looking at'.

Man, Patrice! Love the guy. Amazing if true that a director of a big club has to call him to tell Matt Judge to answer the phone! And if as he says the main fault of Glazers and Woodward is having wrong people around and trusting wrong people, it is still their responsibility. What are they doing to fix or change it?
