So what do y'all think about Everton?
Signings so far:
- Jordan Pickford
- Davy Klaassen
- Sandro Ramirez
- Michael Keane

I think they are lacking firepower but those 4 are excellent transfers for them IMO.

Davy Klaassen is a bit shite isn't he? I used to see Ajax fans complain about him a lot.

“I cannot see Everton finishing in the top six. Lukaku's sale looks imminent and when I look at the amount of matches they are having to play this season, I can see them missing the top six. I have not been impressed by the way they play."

So they'll finish 7th, but it will be interesting to see if they can have a good Europa run.

I reckon a top half finish playing some good football. I also think they will lose home and away to Liverpool. Very much a classic Everton season.

Your main rivals this upcoming season.

Davy Klaassen is a bit shite isn't he? I used to see Ajax fans complain about him a lot.

24, scored 20 goals last season, and had their best chance of the match against us (he turned Smalling inside out before shooting).

He can probably chip in with 8-10 goals and form a good partnership with Schneiderlin, Gueye and Davies in whatever midfield 3 they go for.

If I was them I'd put everything into the Europa. They will likely have one of the strongest squads in it and could give it a real good go.

They're not going to break into the top 4 anytime soon, so qualifying through the Europa would be their best bet.

Who's dropping out the top six then ?

Y'see . It's never going to happen.

I can see Liverpool struggling big time with a more hectic schedule. Arsenal are definitely going to struggle again.

5th place isn't out of their reach if they can keep Lukaku. It depends on Koeman's approach towards The Europa League.

But they are not going to keep Lukaku - according to Lukaku. Klaasen is an unknown quantity, some love him others hate him and scoring well in NL means nothing to the PL.
they have definitely strengthened their defence but possibly weakened their midfield though I never really rated the hot/cold Barkley. Lookman seems to have a great future though.
Most of their goals came from Lukaku. How are hey going to replace them ? Especially with the EL to contend with too. 7th again.

Don't know much about Klassen but they do appear to be very reliant on Lukaku so they'll most likely have to bring in more than one attacker to compensate.

I see them remaining/maintaining their position of hovering outside the top 6, in a similar bracket to Southampton. Which isn't a bad thing at all. But those signings look good on paper but nothing that appears to elevate them up a level given they're most likely losing their main man. I mean, their attacking options are limited. If they are to make serious inroads into the top 4/5 they need to spend on proper talents like Liverpool did recently with Firmino, Mane and Coutinho.

No chance for top 6. Basically they are consolidating their 7th position and adding depth for a strong EL run.

Has more brains than Barkley, who got decent playing time despite not impressing Koeman particularly.

If Everton can get Sandro Ramirez, I can see them playing nice attacking football. Don't know much about Henry Onyekuru though.

Agree. Midfield three of Schneiderlin, Gueye/Davies and Klaassen looks well-balanced and of a good level. They'll need a forward with good link-up play to get the best out of it.

Glad he found a new club but I don't think he's a bad player. Just never really fit into our team/system. We needed a more technical and dominant midfielder in his position and he's all about end product.

Klaassen was absolutely crucial for us this year.
Has a good engine, good positioning, good shot, can speed up play with a 1 touch pass, can score goals, great drive and leadership.
I have no doubt he will do well for Everton. I wouldn't be surprised if he stays there and will be captain in the third year or so.

I'm more interested to see how the likes of Davies and Lookman get on than their new signings.

True about us but that depends on how far we go in Europe.

If Liverpool's squad remained small then this would be valid. However, Klopp was brought in to bring CL football back to the club. He's evidently being backed to strengthen his playing staff. I don't see the schedule being any worse for Liverpool than other top sides. He's not standing still. Furthermore, if Liverpool struggle with CL football, would Everton not struggle in the EL? They're comfortably weaker than Liverpool as of the end of last season.

Did I or did I not state that it depends on Koeman's approach towards The Europa League? They could easily not qualify and then have 1 game a week on average.

Klopp has beought in one attacker to add to an already top heavy squad. The defence remains average.

Their team is alright but I don't rate Pickford and I'm sceptical as to whether Klassen can step it up. If they lose Lukaku, they will badly need a top replacement or they will struggle. Sandro looks like he's coming in, and I reckon he will do well enough.

No chance? I think they have a good chance.Great Mgr, all these signings and if the keep Lukaku, they can be on par with united right at this moment. After the transfer window ends and united pick up some players, well then it's a different story.

All depends on if they can get a decent replacement for Lukaku up top. Klassen is already an improvement on Barkley.

If they take more than a point off us in the two games they will view the season as a massive success no matter where they finish. In fact if they beat us at Anfield, they will release a DVD within 48 hours, retire the shirt of the winning goalscorer and have an open-top bus parade around the city.

The end of August just called, it wants all premature conclusions to be treated with moderate disdain...

They're buying at their level. Probably will maintain their position.

It has been a great start to the window for us. Probably the best one in my lifetime anyway.
Hopefully we can get Sandro confirmed as he looks like he could be one of the bargains of the summer. I also expect Barkley to stay now and i for one will be very happy if he does even though he has led us on .

Ultimately though it all depends on the Lukaku situation. He either stays or we need to replace him well for it to be a good window.

The season starts before September 1st, m8.

Scousers being delusional. I'm shocked.
What's delusional about not assuming Klopp will buy players to accommodate a busy season? Genuinely, the way some posters are declaring prophesies at this stage is baffling. Threads about starting XIs and who looks in good shape. The window opened today. TODAY. T.O.D.A.Y.

I think they have made two good signings - the fees aren't worth getting into as the market is bananas. Everton's chief issue is that the 6 teams above them are already stronger and will have the capacity to buy better players. As such, they may be running just to stand still.

At least they sort out their keeper. They have enough two defensive type midfielder (Morgan and Gueye). Tom Davies did well for his first season too. I don't know what's their plan to play both Barkley and Klassen together, they both are central attacking midfield right. Keane would have been great signing to replace Jagielka.

Honestly it will be tough summer for Everton. Lukaku is likely to leave, Baines is getting too old, their wingers aren't too convinced.

I think they are lacking firepower but those 3 (assuming Keane is a done deal) are excellent transfers for them IMO.
Europa League signings. They are fine for them though.

Barkley's off to Spurs, isn't he?
